Why were there were CAMERAS?!?

Does anyone find it odd that there were cameras recording the footage when 'the cast' were doing the movie?   :?

There was one guy filming ON THE STAGE when everybody was performing!!!   :shock:

What were they trying to get if this "wasn't going to be a movie"? :?

They have said, that Michael filmed every reherrsal, so that he could go back and watch it to improve.

"to improve" ... he messed about half of each song by leaving out words...  :?

All of them were recorded...Why do you think we can watch them on you-tube??  I did not see messed up singing for TII????

Here's some mistakes I heard:

"Wanna Be Startin' Somethin'": - left out "Too low to get under" several times

"I Just Can't Stop Loving You": - Michael sanged "If I can't be with you" ; right lyrics, "If love is the answer"

"Human Nature": - Michael sanged "Truman Nature" and "She do me that way"

"Billie Jean": - left out "The lie becomes the truth"

You're right, but it was a rehersal, and after "I Just Can't Stop Loving You" he said he had to save his voice, so that could be why he didn't sing everything. And I don't think he was giving it all since it was only a rehersal.
Though you're right that it's hard to see what to improve if you're not giving all you got, but... I don't know! :'3

Michael basically checked the position of the dancers and him during the routine. Like would he be covered by the dancers in front of him or if some step looked odd during the routine.

He was overly particular. He bothered about each pose that he struck throughout the show.

He didn't mess up the songs he was saving his voice a d walking through the dance it was not full out at all

but they were 8 days away (or something like that), I think he would have had enough time to save his voice  :| .

My question is: Why did they film the dancers to tell them about michael?
at the beginning of the movie every dancer is saying something directly to michael? or at least it seems to be like that for me .. why would they do that, if this movie wasnt a plan?

I cant think of this as rehearsel footage for michael, that would sound like he wanted to hear from his dancer how good they think he is? know what I mean?

I know exactly what you mean,also filming back stage when he was talking,if the filming was about watching it back,to better himself,would he not just film the performances on stage,why all the other filming. :?  :?

you know i don't know all of the reasoning behind it all. but one thing that i could not help thinking is how the whole thing of seeing what goes on behind the scense and all of the technology and so on involved could have the ability to be very inspireing for young people. maybe that sounds hokey to some, :|  but
