Cemetery will let Michael Jackson fans visit on anniversary of his death
June 8, 2010 | 3:15 pm

Want to pay your respects to Michael Jackson come June 25, the first anniversary of his death? The gates of Forest Lawn in Glendale may in fact be open to fans, according to our sister blog L.A. Now, with plans expected to be finalized this week.

That'd mean fans should be able to access the grounds, mind you -- not go up to the Great Mausoleum, where the King of Pop's body is at rest. "Basically, they will be viewing it from a distance," said Glendale Police Sgt. Tom Lorenz. (Details are still being discussed -- check L.A. Now for more.)

Lorenz also said the Jackson family is working with Forest Lawn on "some kind of commemoration."

Ye from a distance..like any other day. The Mausoleum won't open, so what's the point of going there then  :?:

May your spirit keep the freedom of a butterfly in spring and your heart be filled always with the joys of simple things. May your essence claim the freshness of the new laid morning dew. All of this...and more...

Glendale Police officials have confirmed MICHAEL JACKSON fans will be welcomed at the city's Forest Lawn cemetery on the anniversary of the King of Pop's death after a series of discussions between owners and the Jackson family.

The news follows Randy Jackson's claims that the cemetery will be open to the public on 25 June (10), so pop fans can pay their respects to his late brother.

But devotees will not be allowed inside the cemetery's Great Mausoleum, where Jackson's body was interred in September (10).

So what is this about? Randy/Jacksons trying to get attention over this? Because the gates were opened anyways...This was about being or not being able to enter the Mausoleum, not FL..Duh, so they did nothing..this won't prove us anything

What does the (10) mean? Was that from the actual article?

I think it is  a typo. Has to be September (09) -2009-, cause before that it says cemetery will be open to the public on 25 June (10) -2010-

Here we go again with the misinformation,  MJ  was "interred" in Holly Terrace not Great Mausoleum ;)

Okay, here we go again.

Here's a map of the Great Mausoleum.  The entire building is called the Great Mausoleum, but it is divided into several 'sections', the terraces.  Each terrace has it's own entrance.  There are no connecting corridors between the terraces.

The only part of the Great Mausoleum opened for public is Memorial Terrace (entrance B), but access is restricted to the Memorial Court of Honor, to see The Last Supper Window.

To get to Mike's alleged tomb you need to take entrance C, Holly Terrace.

D, E, F, G and H are the entrances to the other terraces.
