1 Million $ for burial
June 02, 2010, 08:35:02 AM
Somehow these numbers are very high even if this is Michael Jackson

Court documents released Tuesday show that Michael Jackson's private family funeral on Sept. 3 cost roughly $1 million, and that Janet Jackson gave the funeral home an advance payment of $49,000, reports the Associated Press.

Legal requests for payments filed with estate administrators by attorneys for Michael's mother only three days before the scheduled burial noted that if payment was not received by the funeral home and the Glendale Police Department by Sept. 1, "the funeral will not proceed."

The lawyers warned that such a development would cause Katherine Jackson and the family "public embarrassment and added grief, along with the daunting task of having to make new arrangements."

The administrators approved payment of all expenses as well as the reimbursement of Janet for the advance payment. The final tally of costs included $855,730 to Forest Lawn for cemetery and funeral charges including the purchase of other plots within the same mausoleum that houses Jackson's body.

Also listed were: $35,000 for burial garments; $1,975 for wardrobe for the family;    $2,000 for usher costumes; $3,682 for framing of a photograph   of Jackson next to the casket; $959 for embroidery; $11,716 for invitations and programs; $16,000 for flowers; $30,000 for cars and security; and $15,000 for a funeral designer. There was also a charge of $21,455 for the "funeral repast" at a restaurant after the ceremony.

The family was also charged $5,000 to hold Jackson's remains in a temporary vault until the funeral ceremony.

The documents showed that his mother, brother Randy and sister Janet were involved in the planning and were mindful that the media would be covering the funeral, although media were not allowed inside the ceremony.

"Mrs. Jackson and her family wish to honor her son by a funeral that seeks to offer solace to his multitude of fans and by which the family also may be comforted," the attorneys said. The costs were substantial but "entirely commensurate with the decedent's worldwide status as an entertainer and the world's grief over his death."

Mrs. Jackson's attorneys were granted the request for $1 million. The administrators noted this was in addition to the costs of the Staples Center tribute, which was approved by the court as part of the agreement with entertainment group AEG.

Outside court on Tuesday, lawyer Howard Weitzman, who represents the administrators, said: "I would have done it less expensively. But it was Michael Jackson, who was larger than life. There's no reason he should not have a funeral that's larger than life." source  So is he the one to decide?

They bought other plots. Why would Jackson Estate administrators buy plots for other Jackson family members. I think all this  was bought before. And we all know how Jackson videos and movies are very expensive.

Wasn't it a story that Berry Gordy was letting the family use a crypt he owns to hold his ''body''?

There are two different stories on this as well:
The first is the one that they purchased crypts around Michaels, I heard 12 which doesn't fit the number of family members as I state below
Second, is that the Family purchased a private Garden that has 8 burial plot.
Earlier today, a source close to the Jackson's told E! News that the family is now looking to purchase a private garden at Forest Lawn Memorial Park so that ultimately, the entire group can be laid to rest, side by side. Each garden, which runs about $253,000 and is enclosed by a brick wall with flowers surrounding it, can hold up to eight plots. Wait a minute, the garden only accommodates eight people?
Hmmm, we did the math and in this case, eight definitely isn't enough.
There are nine Jackson siblings alone, not including the patriarchs, Joe and Katherine Jackson, as well as each of their various family members, however no word yet on who won't make the cut.

That is not enough for the the family members and the family members are/were married with children of their own, doesn't seem to make sense.
But if we look at this in another context...
This is a painting that Michael Called "The Last Supper" named after Da Vinci's painting of Jesus' last supper. Notice that there are 8 figures with Michael...8 plots in a private Garden

Three Different Stories on his Attire
$35,000 for burial garments
Jackson’s interment clothing has reportedly been designed by the Los Angeles-based duo Dennis Tompkins and Michael Bush, who had been operational on the costumes for the singer’s This Is It tour in London. The family source said the singer, wearing a stage costume.

Michael Jackson was buried with one white glove, sunglasses and dressed with pearl beads and a large gold belt, his sister, La Toya, said in an interview late Friday.
"He was dressed in all white pearl beads going across, draped across (and) a beautiful big gold belt ... like a belt that you win being a boxer," La Toya Jackson told Barbara Walters in a "20/20" interview.

1,975 for wardrobe for the family
That is a very small sum for such a large family. obviously this is not true as the family has their own designers etc. probably couldn't dress one Jackson with that amount of money and they would not need a FUNERAL Home to do it for them.

$2,000 for usher costumes
I am not sure how many ushers there were. In one picture I have I count NINE. Again not a very large amount for each outfit $222.22 each....

$3,682 for framing of a photograph
There were TWO photographs not one.

$959 for embroidery
Embroidery on what? The usher's outfits perhaps. there is what looks similar to an ankh embroidered on their jackets.

It looks a lot like the TYET which is a symbol for the Egyptian Goddess ISIS.
"In many respects the tyet resembles an ankh, except that its arms point downward, and when used as such, seems to represent the idea of eternal life or resurrection."

Or it could just be the ankh.
The Ankh, also known as key of life
Ancient Egyptians described the two major features of the symbol as the following: 1.The circular shape on the top: This part represents eternity. 2.The bottom “T” shape: This represents the current life.

$5,000 to hold Jackson's remains in a temporary vault
Jackson’s coffin was put inside a tomb belonging to Motown founder Berry Gordy after the epic Staples Center memorial service in Los Angeles.
The fear that Michael Jackson’s fans might break into his crypt have led his body to be moved into a basement.

A lot of speculation about money spent for his burial. I mean 1M $ is a lot of money , but if they had to paid for good actors, that  would make sense. You are right about plots. MJ just invested some money, because after he comes back this FL cemetery will be very popular  as it is now.

Thanx for details.

COME ON !!!!!!!  BS for sure...I have posted before about this bill.  No family members would order clothes from the cementary to wear to the funeral.  Michael already owned that pearl jacket that he wore with Janet at that award ceremony.  This is really starting to discust me with all this crap all the time.  I think I just need to wait and see what happens.  If Michael is coming back, he will. (which I highly doubt) Why would he want more misery?  Michael is to sensitive, caring, and loving to be part of this screwed up world.

Where's the cost for the actual service, the setting of chairs, carpets? But then the service wasn't actually there, rather only pics of FL used for green screen of service in another location. Also no mention of food, photography. And you're right, who buy clothes from a funeral business. Why buy so many plots when you have no idea who'll be next to die, and the family obviously wants to save on expenses for the funeral.  Other burial plots wouldn't be high on their list of benefits to gain from Michael's money. MJ's name hasn't showed up on his crypt yet, and unlikely no body in it. I think this financial statement is drawn up in someone's imagination out of the air to add to the public complaint that Michael mismanages and wastes his money (that's why he's broke). Maybe its money for all the trouble the family and this situation is causing Forest Lawn people, or hush-hush money to keep quiet about all the weird stuff going on.

About the MJ last supper painting. On another site, someone mentioned that they are all white famous men, with a dispute over last one --Little Richards?  If they are disciples they would be the next generation of musicians who followed in his footsteps and carried his message like P. Diddy, Chris Brown, Akon etc. If they are the people he admired and looked up to, then where is James Brown and Martin Luther King?  If they are famous men who made their mark then Michael is seen as the cream of innovators leading the way, or the last of the good men who will change the world forever. Just my 2 cents.

People actually do. I know of a family who delayed the father's burial till all 9 children had full black outfits to wear. It was back in the days when you couldn't buy an outfit and had to stitch it inside - so the body was kept for at least 10 days.

Didn't the autopsy say when they went to get a hair sample in August, the body was drapped with white towels and only the top of the head and the hands were uncovered?  No mention of a white glove and no mention of the $35,000 clothes. Why would you dress up the body, then take the clothes and the glove off before putting it in the tomb?  Unless MJ didn't want his clothes on whomever was in the casket.
