TMZ Articles / Re: Will.i.am -- New MJ Album 'Disrespectful' to Michael

If the Jacksons are so upset about what Sony is doing to MJ's songs, why did they sign with them in the first place? Makes u go hmmm

My question is...WHO chose the creative team to put together the album in the first place (there's the culprit)---> and who are they taking direction from?

The people like Will.i.am that have worked closely with Michael obviously know Michael's work methods and feel he would not have wanted it done this way and are speaking up.

But all this is almost like a replay of the TII making (..."Michael wouldn't have wanted it this way, he's a perfectionist....it's unfinished"...etc...blah,blah,blah) does this sound familiar?...same song, different cast. :|

Michael Jackson News / Re: Again a new photo ... MJ new album 2010 ...
« on: November 14, 2010, 06:22:54 AM »
I had my doubts about that picture (well any picture with Mj wearing sunglasses is an automatic "questionable" to me)...you can't fake his eyes. But with this picture ironically it was the shape (silhouette) that seemed off...MJ isn't that squared off in the torso like that....the mid section is too "boxy".

I think the lesson here is how easily a photo can be manipulated...don't always believe what you see ;)

Is Teddy Riley playing "Devil's advocate" and trying to start something on purpose? :ugeek:  Why is he bringing this up?

Michael's estate is going to put out many more albums through Sony *coughs* ...so that perticular song didn't make this one....what's the issue?

I almost feel like people are intentionally irritating the situation on purpose and getting in the middle of stuff they shouldn't.  :?

....they all sound like jealous little kids!....not cool guys.

"Stop shaking the family tree, are you the ghost of jealousy?" :(

Michael Jackson News / Re: Mariah
« on: November 13, 2010, 09:55:06 PM »
Makes sense...Mariah was married to Mottola...she would be a big source of information for Michael on some of the inner workings of Sony.

I hope you aren't trying to imply a "romantic" connection.  That I highly doubt.  The music business is very ruthless, and I'm sure when Mariah divorced Mottola it got ugly (on the business side of it for sure!) and I'm sure Michael's knowledge of catalog ownership/purchasing (of which I'm sure she wanted to know more about for herself) and Mariah's information on Mottola and other key executives at Sony made for a valuable alliance between herself and Michael. So no doubt they had alot to chat about.

I wouldn't be surprised if she did visit Neverland....a multitude of celebrities did (though we rarely heard about it).  I do believe she is involved in all this in some way, but mostly as an informant/confidant regarding Sony.

Sony: New Michael Jackson Album Could Sell 400,000 In First Week
November 11, 2010 - Retail

By Ed Christman

The initial U.S. shipment of Michael Jackson’s "Michael," due Dec. 14 on Epic Records, is 900,000, according to retail sources. Sony is projecting first-week CD sales of 340,000 and digital album sales of 60,000. That projection is similar to debut-week sales of Jackson's album "This Is It," though that album had the marketing strength of a major motion picuture behind it. "This Is It" sold 373,000 units in its first week and has sold 1.6 million units since its release in October 2009, according to Nielsen SoundScan.

Second week projections for "Michael," are set at 280,000 units, while digital sales are expected to slip from its debut week percentage of 15% to 8%. But both of those percentages are better than the digital sales garnered by "This Is It" in its first week when the format accounted for 5.6% of total sales.

"Michael" will carry a $10.25 wholesale cost and a $13.98 list price.

Most music merchants say the controversy surrounding the posthumous single "Breaking News" should stoke awareness and sales for the new album "Michael."

"I think people will come out to buy the album, especially with the controversy," Edge Entertainment Distribution music buyer Danny Cohen says
.

The debate on song quality and authenticity will likely be a moot point by Nov. 15, when the Jackson website is scheduled to debut "Hold My Hand," which features Akon. That first commercially available single from "Michael" will be available for sale the same day at digital stores like iTunes.

Some merchants worry that the quality of the first song being streamed from Jackson's site may not inspire consumers to run out and buy the set on street date. One merchant described "Breaking News" as "an interesting choice to sell an album. It's not a good first look for the album."

Merchants say that Sony sales representatives have told them the single was chosen more because of the lyrical content as a way to herald the news about the upcoming album.

Other Odd Things / Re: Monarch butterfly on his shoulder ...

I think it is a Monarch on his shoulder too, but with all of the speculation that Michael may or may not be singing on some of the songs, I couldn't help but wonder if there is some significance in the choice of butterfly used. Probably not. Perhaps Michael just really likes Monarchs. I do too!

The Monarch butterfly also appears in the Earth Song of TII ;)

These butterflies appears also in the site of Planet Michael :)

They are popping up everywhere ...they are used in the Cirque de Soleil Immortal ad as well... Too many times to be coincidental  ;)

Also I would like to know what kind of music is between 0:45 and 0:50....sounds classical music but I don't know.....

It reminds me of the V for Vendetta soundtrack "Evey Reborn, just a little sped up (at around 2:12)

I just felt it has to be something about that classical music, I just knew it, because Michael is a Musician and he loved classical music. Look what I found:

It is the same theme like in The flight of the BumbleBee of Rimsky-Korsakov.

Listen to Korsakov's theme  and compare it to BN from 0:45 to 0:50:

The same in BN, only a little processed to match a pop track.

Now this what wikipedia about the original:

"Flight of the Bumblebee" is an orchestral interlude written by Nikolai Rimsky-Korsakov for his opera The Tale of Tsar Saltan, composed in 1899–1900. The piece closes Act III, Tableau 1, during which the magic Swan-Bird changes Prince Gvidon Saltanovich (the Tsar's son) into an insect so that he can fly away to visit his father (who does not know that he is alive). Although in the opera the Swan-Bird sings during the first part of the "Flight", her vocal line is melodically uninvolved and easily omitted;"

The "Flight of the Bumblebee" connection is also discussed at this link:

That's great because I think it's very important  :D

Alrighty then....I can breathe now...Thank you all for this!   :D This song had me worried for a second cause on the surface it seemed so simplistic that it couldn't be Michael's work (I wasn't concerned too much with the voice issues....like is it him or not, it was the lyrics and music that had me stumped)...but all this makes sense now....Wow, glad I came here, you guys know your stuff! :)

Why do I get the feeling someone is having fun with us?....so are they saying that simply because Michael's name is associated with it (now that he is "dead"), it will go to number #1 on the charts regardless of what it sounds like?

Are they basing this on the actual content or the legacy? :? Are they saying that people are so hungry for anything Michael Jackson, (even if it's not really him), they'll still buy it because it's supposedly "Michael Jackson"?

WOW....that's marketing!

Sony must be grinning right now...

Sweet Jesus, I totally get it. :|

This is a clothing line. I don't think it has anything to do with Michael Jackson.

NEW YORK -- Ronnie Heller has joined the Richard Warren division of The Warren Group as design director.
Heller had been a partner and designer at Ronnie Heller Inc., a dress firm here.
At Warren, Heller will be responsible for designing four dress collections: Richard Warren day dresses, Richard Warren Evenings, petites and large sizes.

He reports to Robert Bronstein, president of Richard Warren. Bronstein said the Richard Warren collections had been created by a team of designers since last May, when its designer for 12 years, Constance Saunders, left the company to do a signature collection under her own label for Depeche …

wasn't there an article talking about the Jackson brothers were producing a clothing line?...but what would that have to do with Katherine and the VPM contract?...this is going in circles...my head hurts now too!    something is way off here.

TMZ Articles / Re: Zsa Zsa Gabor Treated for 'Massive Blood Clot'
« on: November 12, 2010, 06:50:04 PM »
Not to sound morbid here   ...but I wonder if an ambulance responds differently if they know the person being called about is already dead?

....(and if there are any EMT personnel on here chirp in at anytime on this topic please!)... the reason I ask is I live next door to a Senior housing development.   So the paramedics come through here a little more often than usual.  The other day I noticed the ambulance there...which I thought was odd, because I didn't hear the sirens wailing and announcing their arrival.  It was broad daylight, so it's not like they would awake anyone sounding the sirens. I asked a neighbor what was going on and she informed me that one of the tenants had passed away earlier that morning (she was terminally ill).  I thought it was odd because I just assumed a coroner would collect the deceased and not an ambulance.

They took their time moving/transporting her to where ever they were going, but it got me to thinking about how slow that ambulance was moving in Michael's case....that coupled with the recent information from Katherine's interview on Oprah about someone seeing a "covered body" being removed from the rented house got me to thinking about how slow they were moving.

Zsa Zsa lives @ 1001 Bel Air Rd...I wonder if they took her to Cedars or Ronald Regan? :?: I hope she's okay

*scratches head*....well, I look up this Vintage Pop Media @  You are not allowed to view links. Register or Login

and the first thing that stuck out to me was the phone number & address...

Since I live in California, the area code did not look familiar on the phone number (651)...so I looked it up and I was right, its a area code for a number in St. Paul, Minnesota.  :?  (okay no biggie, I figure maybe its a temporary cell phone number)

so then trying to make sense of this, I googled the address listed: 20434 S Santa Fe Ave Long Beach,Ca   and discovered this link and business tied to that address:

South Bay Studios (established 1989)
You are not allowed to view links. Register or Login

it appears to be some kind of motion picture production company....again, maybe not too strange right? So I searched it on Manta.com just to see if South Bay Studios is legit....which they are...and also found Richard Gamorra (president) and Ron Kusumi (Director-Sales & Marketing)...and this is where I hit the wall....I can't figure out how all this ties together. :?

Is this VPM a sub company? Why the out-of-state temp number? How is this VPM associated with South Bay Studios?

If anyone can take this info and run with it and figure it out, please do! HELP!!! :|

It sounds like a mix of Michael's voice spliced with someone else. But the voice isn't what I have the problem with....it's the music---the lyrics and the beat...it's too...how should I say this delicately...amateur? :?

Michael's musical compositions have always been intricate...this sounds like a song/beat you'd hear on a karaoke machine (JMO, sorry!)...and I think that's what's really making people question if it's his voice or not, it just doesn't sound like something he'd put together (And I pray-pray-pray they don't have a whole album of nothing but stuff like this   ). I just don't see Michael singing a "bubble gum" type song...he set the standard for his music, why wouldn't he live up to his own standard?

(My apologies Michael if you really wrote this, but I have to be honest---you've done much better  :( )

....I don't know if I can listen to the rest of this album if it's going to be like this ---I would love to hear Michael's voice singing again, but not like this...this is cr@p!....now I understand the family's issue with it :|

The question in my mind is....WHY is so much more money needed?  The estate supposedly cleared all the debts (even paid themselves), they paid off the Hayvenhurst home and the school tuition for the kids.  So why is the monthly allowance not enough?   I realize to an extent some of the other Jackson siblings and Joseph may be pinching Katherine for money...but even this seems extreme. :?

It makes me wonder who or what the money is really for ;)

Michael Jackson News / Re: Marie Osmond on Oprah..look at the difference
« on: November 12, 2010, 07:13:22 AM »
My heart goes out to everyone on here who has ever lost a loved one.  The pain of their absence is something you never quite get over and I hope you find some measure of peace and comfort in your own way. <3

I watched this interview yesterday and it ripped my heart out. I couldn't stop crying...it just kills me to see anyone in so much pain.  I don't know anything about any of the Osmonds, but it seems like they've had their fair share of tragedy and drama as a family.  Her grief was significant (as it would be for a mother losing a child) but I also think it was compounded by the fact she also recently ended a really bad marriage.  At the end of the show she did a very touching tribute to her son and she didn't get all the way through it the first time (I think the video images of him they showed while she was singing may have been the reason she kept breaking down)...it seems to have made it that much harder for her to remain composed (understandibly).

ONE THING I DID NOTICE....and this is just a "coincidental" observation...there may be a connection or not...but Marie Osmond had this "scrapbook of memories" that her son made(which I thought was a wonderful idea)....but it also made me think of the book Katherine had made (which Oprah was flipping through during their interview in the beginning).

Something about these "memory" books is nagging at me. Oprah said in the interview with Katherine that when she did the interview with Michael back in 1993, that he made the specific request NOT to have any teenage pictures included.  Now, I haven't seen Katherines book yet, but I'd be curious to know if there were any "teenage years" pictures included. The reason being is that if this "memory book" was a creation by his mother it would be more "personal". We all know the Opus that was put out carried a multitude of photo's of Michael during his life & career and is more "artistic" in nature....so a mother's memory book would surely be more personal and include things she loved about him---pre nose surgery and all (I hope that makes sense). It would seem that if Michael were really dead, she would include all of her photo's of him at every stage of his life...photo's of "her little boy" as it were, it wouldn't be "edited"( ;) )...unless "someone" asked her to do it that way. I hope someone gets what I'm getting at here. :?

If anyone has seen Katherine's book, please share your thoughts.... I'd be curious to know!

My heart truly hurts for Marie Osmond and family and I hope they find some measure comfort and peace through it all.
