AEG ~ Sony / Re: Katherine Jackson versus AEG set for trial 9-10-2012

100% humidity means that the air is holding 100% of the amount of water vapor it can hold. The capacity of air to hold water vapor varies based on temperature and barometric pressure. Technically you are 'under' water, because there are droplets of water above your head.   :icon_e_biggrin:

??? If everything is ok and Michael is in full control why is she so sad.

For me all is in Michael's full control : however, for a mother,I think is not a nice thing listen  all those bad things, all those lies about her son , especially knowing he is totally innocent..... :icon_rolleyes:

I so agree.. I can imagine Katherine getting emotional and upset about the way AEG has treated Michael, the pressure, using disrespectful names, telling lies and although Katherine might have been prepared on AEG's ugliness it still could be hurtful for her. AEG is constantly talking about her son as a money source and not as a person. I'd think that there are moments that she had too much of it. I admire her strength.  :bearhug: @ Katherine.

I totally agree with you Everlasting!!!! Just like anyone else, a mother only take so much!!

It's a film?    :ghsdf: :judge-smiley:

It certainly is! A major blockbuster! An Academy Award winner!

Hi all, on a brighter note, maybe AEG didn’t shred the email files but only deleted them. I worked for a company a year ago that had a file-shredding tool on all their computers for confidentiality because it is possible to retrieve a file even after it has been deleted.  Here is some information from an article entitled: “HTG Explains: Why Deleted Files Can Be Recovered and How You Can Prevent It.”

“When you delete a file, it isn’t really erased – it continues existing on your hard drive, even after you empty it from the Recycle Bin. This allows you (and other people) to recover files you’ve deleted. If you’re not careful, this will also allow other people to recover your confidential files, even if you think you’ve deleted them. This is a particularly important concern when you’re disposing of a computer or hard drive.

Windows (and other operating systems) keep track of where files are on a hard drive through “pointers.” Each file and folder on your hard disk has a pointer that tells Windows where the file’s data begins and ends.

When you delete a file, Windows removes the pointer and marks the sectors containing the file’s data as available. From the file system’s point of view, the file is no longer present on your hard drive and the sectors containing its data are considered free space.

However, until Windows actually writes new data over the sectors containing the contents of the file, the file is still recoverable. A file recovery program can scan a hard drive for these deleted files and restore them. If the file has been partially overwritten, the file recovery program can only recover part of the data.

To increase performance and save time, Windows and other operating systems don’t erase a file’s contents when it’s deleted. If you want to erase a file’s contents when it’s deleted, you can use a “file-shredding” tool.

Remember this when getting rid of a computer or hard drive – your confidential files may still be present on your hard drive if you haven’t properly erased them.”

Another article I read said:
"...there are indeed services that use advanced technologies to attempt to read this incompletely erased prior data. By "advanced" I mean that you remove your hard drive and send it to them. They then open the hard drive in a clean-room and use special equipment to attempt to perform the task.

Oh, and it's expensive. Really expensive.

The success rate of this type of recovery really depends on how many times the data in a particular spot on disk has been overwritten with new data. If it's been overwritten once then the chances are much better than if the data had been overwritten, say, 20 times. That's the premise of tools like sdelete or "Secure Delete". Using sdelete you can delete a file and specify the number of times it should be overwritten, specifically to avoid this type of data recovery."

I think Michael's estate can afford to take advantage of this advanced technology! Can’t wait to see what emails they’ve have retrieved!! :icon_e_biggrin:

I'm sorry, my laptop is acting up and I couldn't copy the article.

Thanks for the link to the article.  Read it. Didn't like this:

"While the Jackson lawyers wanted to explore how AEG's lawyers came to represent the DiLeo estate in Ohio, the judge declined exploring the matter.

"All we know right now they're not representing her, and that's enough for us," Judge Yvette Palazuelos said."

Seems to me that should have been brought into the case. But I'm not a judge so what do I know!

Maybe they just don't have enough time to fit that in!  :suspect:

You all are so right.  There is very little being aired here in LA. The one TV station here that was posting updates for the first few days hasn't posted anything since yesterday.  :computer-losy-smiley:

The all news radio station that was talking about the trial hasn't reported anything in two days.  :icon_cry:

But we have a big wild fire storm burning here and all attention is focused on that fire. Please pray for the people who live in the path of the fire!

Here is a link to the latest and only update I could find. I can't post it because this one added their blurb:"(© Copyright 2013 The Associated Press. All Rights Reserved. This material may not be published, broadcast, rewritten or redistributed.)"   :icon_geek: It is a very very short article!

Others / Chris Kelly, Half of '90s Rap Duo Kris Kross, Dead at 34
« on: May 02, 2013, 01:19:03 PM »
Here is some news on an artist that toured with Michael in the past.

Chris Kelly, Half of '90s Rap Duo Kris Kross, Dead at 34
No cause of death is yet known for Kelly, who was known as Mac Daddy during his Kris Kross days in the '90s

Chris Kelly, half of the 1990s kid rap duo Kris Kross who made one of the decade's most memorable songs with the frenetic "Jump," died at an Atlanta hospital on Wednesday of an apparent drug overdose at his home, authorities said. He was 34.

"It appears it may have been a possible drug overdose," said Cpl. Kay Lester, a spokeswoman for the Fulton County police.

This, Lester said, is based on statements received at the scene as well as evidence turned up at Kelly's home in south Atlanta.

"It is with deep sadness that we announce that our beloved Chris Kelly has passed away on May 1," Kelly's mom Donna Kelly Pratte said in a statement. "To millions of fans worldwide, he was the trendsetting, backwards pants-wearing one-half of Kris Kross who loved making music.
But to us, he was just Chris - the kind, generous and fun-loving life of the party. Though he was only with us a short time, we feel blessed to have been able to share some incredible moments with him. His legacy will live on through his music, and we will forever love him."

According to Lester, police were called to Kelly's home at around 4:30 p.m. Wednesday. He was transported to the south campus of the Atlanta Medical Center.

Investigator Betty Honey of the Fulton County Medical Examiner's office said Kelly was pronounced dead at the hospital at around 5 p.m. Wednesday.
No official cause of death has been determined, pending an autopsy.

Kelly, known as "Mac Daddy," and Chris Smith, known as "Daddy Mac," were introduced to the music world in 1992 by music producer and rapper Jermaine Dupri after he discovered the pair in an Atlanta mall. The duo wore their clothes backwards as a gimmick, but they won over fans with their raps.

Their first, and by far most successful song, was "Jump." The hit, off their multiplatinum 1992 debut album "Totally Krossed Out," featured the two trading versus and rapping the refrain, the song's title. The duo had surprising maturity in their rap delivery, though the song was written by Dupri. It would become a No. 1 smash in the United States and globally, and one of the most popular of that year.

heir success led to instant fame: They toured with Michael Jackson, appeared on TV shows, and even had their own video game.

The group was never able to match the tremendous success of their first song, though they had other hits like "Warm It Up," and "Tonite's tha Night."

In 2009, after photos surfaced that showed him with bald spots on his head, there were rumors that he had cancer. But in an interview posted on YouTube by Straight from the A TV, he said he suffered from alopecia, a condition in which people lose their hair.

"My health is good, I just got alopecia, I don't have cancer, not other sort of diseases," he said.

Earlier this year, the group performed together to celebrate the anniversary of Durpri's label, So So Def.

I think it's curious that TMZ have not reported anything about this trial so far at all (unless I have missed something?)

Well they did say in their article about Paris hanging with Debbie that "We'll be in court for the opening statements, so stay tuned."

If I remember right, there were two coroner's report. The first one did portray him as being frail and a mess. But then the second one revealed him to be in a healthy state for a 50 year old male.

Here is an update from 40 minutes ago.

Michael Jackson Doc Had Huge Debts, Detective Says
The former cardiologist is not a party to the case, but he is a key figure in Katherine Jackson's negligent hiring case against concert giant AEG Live.

By Anthony McCartney
| Wednesday, May 1, 2013  | Updated 12:16 PM PDT

A police detective testified Wednesday about the depths of debt that Michael Jackson's doctor faced while giving the singer treatments of the powerful anesthetic that killed the pop superstar.

Los Angeles police Detective Orlando Martinez said in a case filed by Jackson's mother against concert giant AEG Live that Conrad Murray faced student loans, home loans, child support obligations and credit card payments that were in arrears in 2009. Plaintiff's attorney Brian Panish said the debts totaled nearly $1 million.

Martinez has said the debts may have led Murray to act inappropriately in his care of Jackson in order to ensure he received $150,000 a month payments from AEG Live LLC to serve as the singer's tour doctor.

"He may break the rules, bend the rules, do whatever he needed to do to get paid," Martinez said Tuesday. "It might solve his money problems."
Murray's finances were not a factor in the criminal case that ended with his 2011 conviction for administering a fatal dose of propofol to Jackson.

The former cardiologist is not a party to Katherine Jackson's negligent hiring case against the concert promoter, but he is a key figure. The Jackson family matriarch contends AEG did not properly investigate Murray before allowing him to serve as Jackson's tour physician for the ill-fated "This Is It" shows planned for 2009.

Martinez testified he found most of the debts against Murray in public records.

Martinez's testimony Wednesday was bogged down by continuous objections from AEG attorneys and the detective spent most of an hour-long session authenticating public records. He testified briefly about Murray's phone records before court recessed for the day so that an alternate juror could attend a funeral.

AEG denies it hired Murray, and its attorney has noted that Jackson and his children had been treated by the doctor before the shows were planned.

Martinez is the second witness called in the case, which in its early stages will focus on Jackson's death. Potential witnesses later in the trial include stars such as Diana Ross, Quincy Jones and Spike Lee. Jackson's mother, several siblings and his two oldest children, Prince and Paris, are also listed as potential witnesses.

Millions and possibly billions of dollars are at stake in the trial, which may last 90 court days.

AEG attorneys said they intend to call Murray as a witness. He remains in a Los Angeles jail and is appealing his conviction.

AEG Live is a subsidiary of the Los Angeles-based Anschutz Entertainment Group.
