I was not talking about MATH or other things in school that we learn yes that are things that we need I was talking about the TRUTH and HISTORY BOOKS. That is what I meant and that is what my whole point was of this thread but I see that this is heading somewhere else now. I've never said that school is bad and I feel like I'm repeating myself here, the thing I meant is that not all things in school are good and that most of it is degrading us. It's not all truth! But I don't understand why I'm even bothering to repeat myself over and over again while you don't get it. This is the last time I said this.

I hear what you are saying, but people do have the power to change the books that are read.  Curriculum committees are created specifically for that reason.  (I have been personally been involved in that process.)  Many schools (across the US anyway) are designed for the schools to have local control in regards to curriculum selection and the books that are chosen for the subject areas.

Thank you, Grace.

I've spend my whole life dedicated to education and improving schools around the world.  And I have watched so many lives transform for the better because of them.  No, they are not perfect, but you hit the nail one the head: It's easy to take for granted the things you DO have.

I'll say again what I said in my previous post:

Based of that definition, yes, it seems like I used the appropriate word.

I think some are reading way too much into this painting.

So you are suggestion we just ignore all the symbolism in this painting, the only painting he ever posed for, while Mike used symbolism for years and years to tell things he can't say outright?

No, I don't think I'm reading too much into this panting, Mike and symbolism are inseparable.

I clearly pointed out the symbolism in this painting:

Although not specifically stated in this article, it's widely assumed that the "book" represents the Bible, a very important book to Michael and his faith.

The 50-by-40 inch portrait shows Jackson in a Renaissance-era red velvet jacket and seated on a stool on a checkerboard floor at at his Neverland Ranch, beside a table holding a vase of flowers, while holding a book that is "significant in his life," the auction states.

Above him is a sweeping curtain. Behind Jackson's right shoulder is a statue of Peter Pan, the legendary boy that refused to grow up and a character the singer, who died last June, had always admired. The title of the book is not shown. The flowers represent "Jackson's love of nature," the auction says.

In the painting's upper left hand corner, Jackson is seen being painted by the artist, Brett-Livingstone Strong.

Not everything has to fall in line with a conspiracy theory, and the agenda and propaganda around it.

If you are not satisfied, do something about it.  Get involved, and make them better.

I think some are reading way too much into this painting.  This was painted at Neverland Ranch, where parts of the flooring on the property are checkerboard.  (Even the floor where they filmed Ghost at Neverland is like that.)  Checkerboard floors are a common architectural feature in many homes.  (I have many friends and colleagues that have homes with the same type of floor.)

Michael's Reasons to hoax his death / Re: WE HAVE TO STOP!
« on: April 08, 2010, 11:25:13 PM »
Thank you for your post, jacilovesmichael.

It's ironic you just posted this because just moments ago, I had to finally speak up and say "STOP!" on another thread.

While I may not agree with you about the specific reasons that he may hoaxed his death, you stated very well what's been going on in this forum.  People are losing their sight of reality and forgetting to be critical thinkers.  They are selectively choosing facts, and forgetting the other critical ones.  This is not about fantasy.  This is about real lives and real people.  This is not make believe.  Some people are carelessly and insensitively criticizing, scrutinizing, and ripping Michael's family members apart.  These are real people.  They do not deserve that.

I will quote what I wrote on another thread, in re. to Mrs. Jacksons attire, which is a good example of what I'm talking about:

Quote
Some people on this thread are suffering from "selective fact finding". Yes, she wore a blue suit.  But also on that same day, she was very upset and crying in the courtroom.  This has been reported by many people who were actually there and were eyewitnesses.  That should speak louder than any other conjecture made.  Do not create an alternate reality that doesn't exist. If you are going to consider one part of the picture, you must acknowledge the other part to make sure you're getting the whole story.

I will not pretend to know why Mrs. Jackson chose to wear certain clothes that day, just as much I can't tell you why I even wear certain clothes each day myself.  I have dress clothes, I have casual clothes, and most of the time I'll choose whatever's convenient depending on the weather, mood, what's fitting, etc.

Please leave Mrs. Jackson alone.  She deserves so more than this public scrutinization that she is facing on this forum.  Let this one rest, please.

Can someone tweet that information to one of the Jackson family members like Jermaine? I don't have twitter.

That is a very good idea.  I don't have Twitter either, so someone else is going to have to.  The Bid is up April 17, so about 10 days left.  We need to act fast.

Julien's Auctions will be holding a special auction @ Planet Hollywood June 24 and 25, 2010 in Las Vegas.  Leading this event is a selection of twenty-two exquisite furniture lots commissioned by Michael Jackson for his planned residence in Kent, England, during the "This Is It" concert series in London.

Paintings up for auction include:

The Collection David Nordahl — Michael Jackson's commissioned artwork by the famed artist includes his study art supplied to Michael Jackson to approve his work prior to creating the masterpieces that adorned the walls at Neverland. Collection includes: Study for "Tryptych" (Est. $6,000/$8,000), Study for "Michael" (Est. $4,000/$6,000), Study for "Prince, The Boy King" (Est. $6,000/$8,000).

I wonder if the family has authorized the sale of this portrait.  Probably not.  It seems everything is being stolen right out from under them.  I am outraged about this.

It is an outrage.  They are auctioning just about everything.  Even the treasures you'd think would stay in the family, like the original oil study of "Prince The Boy King" painting.  This really is quite upsetting and disturbing to me, as well.  (Hopefully the final piece of "Prince The Boy King" is safe and with the family)

I love that painting.  Here's a fun fact: the artist, Brett Livingstone Strong, is also the mutual friend who introduced Michael and Lisa Marie.   ;)

Maybe it does stem from the 2005 - being the point that even though Michael was found innocent he was still trapped in the injustice of it all. Now we are all trapped in 2005 along with Michael. It's like a bad movie playing over and over and over again. I think there were movies with that theme, right? Hopefully this has a happy ending.

"Groundhog Day" with Bill Murray?
