TIAI ~ 2010 / Re: TIAI 04/29

an illuminated This Is It! hmmm...

I agree that the illumination may be important but the "light" seems focused on the word IS.  It made me think that the point was to say that Michael's Light IS as in....has not been extinguished.  That seems kind of simplistic though after all this time AND as a redirect to those of us that already beLIEve.

It also appears as though there is a lack of the solid backing behind the IT that the rest of the letters have.  They all appear to have a solid metal framing behind the initial fronts and lighting.  I pray this doesn't mean that the support necessary for the IT (hoax/reveal) is now missing.

Any thoughts?  Something is definitely missing in IT.

Other Odd Things / Re: Come Together?

I just have to say that this has always been my favorite video performance.  I've loved it since Moonwalker came out and still do today.  On September 3rd, as the cameras revealed those two beautiful portraits at the "funeral" it devastated me.  It made it all too real and painful.

I'm the same age as Michael so for more than forty years he's always "been there" and I'm so thankful that this site gives me reason to hope that he still is.

This seems to be turning into the 50 and over thread...LOL.  I'm right there with you though.  I'll be 51 on April 7th and the lovely Mr. Jackson has consumed a tremendous amount of my time in the months since June 25th.

In the beginning I couldn't stop crying.  First it was just grief over his "passing" but I was confused as to why it lingered on and hurt so badly.  I spent hours upon hours scouring the internet for EVERYthing Michael and in doing so learned much more about all the anguish he was put through.  I had always kept up with the situations he faced but was absorbed in my own world with my own life and didn't reach for the details.  I can't tell you how many times during all my "research" that I thought my heart was physically breaking in two from the pain in my chest.  It didn't take me long to realize WHY I hurt so bad......in a word.... it was guilt.  I felt that I and my generational peers had let him down.  When Madonna gave that wonderful speech I felt like she was reading from my mind.  I literally dissolved into tears when she uttered the words WE LET HIM DOWN.  I have felt very guilty for not being a stronger advocate for Michael.

My "surfing" also brought me into the realm of the hoax sites and videos and I started analyzing that possibility.  I consider myself to be a very logical person with an overactive analytical mind.  Lots of things made me sit up and take notice while other "inconsistencies" could be explained rather reasonably.  It has helped me though to think that it is indeed possible that he is still here and that I/we will get another chance to do right by him as he deserves no less.

The lone concern I have that keeps me from being a 100% beLIEver is the fear of disrespecting God and Michael if he has really passed.  Michael, more than most, has surely earned the reward of resting in Heaven for all eternity and I know it's really selfish on my part to hope that he hasn't taken up that residence just yet.  I want him here......the world needs him here.  There is no other person with as big a heart, as pure a soul, who can reach the masses and light up the world with his love and I truly hope that's what he has planned.  The earth and humanity need a do-over when it comes to Michael Jackson.......because we sure loused it up on the first go-round.

Michael....I Love You More !
Wherever you may be.........you are always with me.

"Woah woah woah, lets not get ourselves too distraught over this. For one thing, as many pointed out already in this thread, This tribute concert is supposedly happening on the anniversary of Michael Jackson's death with a list of performers who are LEGENDARY. Anybody over the age of 18 knows who Earth Wind And Fire is, as well Prince and the Jackson 5. Which brings me to my next point. How is it even possible for the Jackson 5 to even perform? Remember, Theres no Michael, and surely if they use any of his songs, they can't simply just use old recordings from the golden days and sing with an projected voice along with a song. That wouldn't work out at all! The Jacksons have grown up so that the audio wouldn't sync/match up at any level, and the tribute concert would just flounder if they were to do something like that, also, why specifically refer to the Jackson 5?"

Glad someone else picked up on the Jackson 5 mention.

Jermaine Jackson Gathers Prince and Justin Timberlake for Michael Jackson Tribute

by Paul Cashmere - March 6 2010

Jermaine Jackson has apparently gathered an all-star cast, including Prince, Justin Timberlake and Santana to pay tribute to his late brother Michael Jackson at a show in June in London.

The Tribute By Jermaine show is expected to take place on June 8, 2010 at Wembley Arena in London.

Other participants include Shakira, Earth Wind and Fire, Usher, Nelson Mandela, Jennifer Hudson, Whitney Houston, Jabbawockeez, Seal, Neyo and a performance by the Jackson 5 with Janet Jackson.

“The best way and most suitable way is to assemble the world's largest tribute in history that is only fitting to a man who moved the hearts and souls of an unimaginable amount,” Jermaine said in a statement.

The show will be filmed with 12 HD cameras and air globally on June 25, 2010.

I too think it's pretty tacky that Jermaine felt the need to insert himself into the name of this Tribute.  It has saddened me over time watching him try to be so like Michael and begging for the admiration that Michael enjoyed from his fans.  He used to be my second favorite Jackson but has fallen WAY down that list.  I'm Michaels age so I've seen the whole evolution from the beginning.  While I applaud him for continuing to pursue the need for a true tribute to Michael I really wish he would leave his personal ambitions out of it.

I do find it rather interesting that the article lists a planned performance by the Jackson 5.  It does mention "with Janet Jackson" but is she supposed to replace Michael?  I'm sure you all remember that "legally" the J5 is ONLY Jackie, Tito, Jermaine, Marlon and Michael.  You can't sub Janet or Randy in and have it be J5.  They had to drop using J5 and start using The Jacksons for this very reason years ago when the group left Motown but Jermaine stayed behind.

Things that make you go hmmmmmmm.

Michael Jackson News / Re: WATW...TERRIBLE
« on: February 13, 2010, 01:14:23 AM »
I have to say that when I first saw the preview that was shown before the opening ceremonies for the Olympics I thought it was bad and was greatly disappointed.  I've since gone to the website and watched the video in it's full form and have completely changed my mind.  I'm the first to admit that no one can compare to Michael in pretty much anything but I think he would be pleased with this.  Music must move with the times and he reached out to other artists to stay "fresh".  There are a few seconds of a few performances that I could live without having to hear but overall I think it's great and it's intended to help those who need it most right now.  There has never been (and  most likely never will be) anyone in the industry to wanted so desperately to help those in need more that Michael.  I actually think it speaks volumes that instead of coming up with something entirely new that they chose to use Michaels song.  You can't get a more perfect foundation than that!!

The Coroner and Autopsy Report / Re: The Autopsy Part 2

My first post so excuse me for jumping in here.  I skimmed the report ~ didn't want to read any graphic details ~ and didn't catch anything else mentioning identification other that the visual comparison.  Was there no other method used?  You know... something slightly more reliable like DNA!!  I'm guessing that's a big NO!!  Things that make you go hmmmmm....
