Other Odd Things / Re: Lady Gaga's 'G.U.Y.' Video Resurrects Jesus And Michael Jackson
« on: December 16, 2014, 10:02:12 PM »I watched the video and this is my take on it:
1. Money hungry execs who don’t care who they ‘trample’.
2. Backstabbing (arrow in back) as they walk all over you while you are down.
3. Wings (the soul) have become dirtied and broken
4. The soul gets cleansed (swimming pool) and emerges stronger and more confident
5. Companies are usually run by ‘the boys’, the song could represent women are now going to be those boys, hence the words guy under you
6. 4 Caskets or crypts – John Lennon, Gandhi, Jesus and Michael (History)
7. gamemode ARTPOP (when the caskets are being opened) could mean pop culture is not going to be the same anymore (more on this below)
8. Conveyor belt of look alikes – cloning is on the machine screen (taking over/control)
9. Being at the Hearst Castle maybe was to represent the media.
I looked up ARTPOP:

Gaga described Artpop as "a celebration and a poetic musical journey" and an exploration of the "reverse Warholian" phenomenon in pop culture.

Since the property was donated to the state of California only two projects have been granted permission: Stanley Kubrick's Spartacus, which used the castle to stand in as Crassus' villa; and Lady Gaga's music video for "G.U.Y."[8][9]
FYI: In the credits of the video she thanks Governor Jerry Brown

Publishing business[edit]
Searching for an occupation, in 1887 Hearst took over management of a newspaper, the San Francisco Examiner, which his father received in 1880 as repayment for a gambling debt.[8] Giving his paper a grand motto, "Monarch of the Dailies," he acquired the best equipment and the most talented writers of the time, including Ambrose Bierce, Mark Twain, Jack London, and political cartoonist Homer Davenport. A self-proclaimed populist, Hearst went on to publish stories of municipal and financial corruption, often attacking companies in which his own family held an interest. Within a few years, his paper dominated the San Francisco market.
Here are some words from the G.U.Y.:
I'm gonna wear the tie, want the power to leave you
I'm aimin' for full control of this love (Of this love)
I'm gonna say the word and own you
You'll be my G.I.R.L
Got our romance and loves to hold you
Know you'll wear my makeup well
I don't need to be on top to know I'm worth it
Cuz I'm strong enough to know the truth
I'm in charge like a G.U.Y.
I'll lay down, face up this time
Under you, like a G.U.Y.
FYI: the credits at the end of the video show that Drake James portrayed Michael
Love you Michael!
Excellent!!! That's exactly what she meant :th_bravo:
