JACKSON FAM
Hightailing It to Court,
Kids Staying Home

Michael Jackson's parents -- along with La Toya, Jermaine and Randy -- are currently scrambling to get to the L.A. County Courthouse after they were notified the jury had reached a verdict in the Conrad Murray manslaughter case.

The entire crew is traveling from Calabasas, which -- if traffic is good -- can take somewhere between 45 mins to an hour.

We're told the family is "anxious."

MJ's kids are staying at home with other family members. We're told they were instructed NOT to watch the verdict live -- so Katherine could break the news herself when she got home.

CONRAD MURRAY
Hedges His Bets ... With God

Conrad Murray is leaving no stone unturned ... he went to church in L.A. last night.

Murray and his girlfriend/baby mama, Nicole Alvarez, went to the West Angeles Church of God in Christ in the Crenshaw district.

One his way out of the service, Murray told a photog, "God is good."

We're told Murray, a deeply religious man, prays all the time, but he's "optimistic" he'll be found not guilty.

Time will tell ...

Jackson's Former Bodyguards 'Michael Wouldn't Have Wanted Murray on Trial'

CONRAD MURRAY, a big boost as he awaits a verdict in his involuntary manslaughter trial - by going public with calls for the medic'sacquittal.

Murray has denied allegations he administered the fatal dose of anesthetic propofol which cost Jackson his life in June, 2009.

The six-week casewas handed over to the jury to begin deliberations on Thursday afternoon(03Nov11).

The minders insist that Murray should not be singled out as the one doctor who made dangerous drugs available to Jackson, as the King of Pop battled chronic insomnia.

But Jackson's ex-security guards, Javon Beard and Bill Whitfield, insist their former boss would be disappointed to learn his life was being scrutinised during a very public trial - and he'd have hated to see his trusted physician facing prison time for his death.

Beard and Whitfield hope the medic is acquitted of manslaughter and in an interview on U.S. breakfast show Good Morning America on Friday (04Nov11), Beard said, "There's no way in hell that Dr Conrad wanted to kill Mr Jackson. Why would he kill his paycheck?" And Bill Whitfield added, "He (Jackson) would not step into another court room again. This trial brought him back into a court room. His character was back into question (sic)".

The minders insist that Murray should not be singled out as the one doctor who made dangerous drugs available to Jackson, as the King of Pop battled chronic insomnia.

Beard insisted, "It's way bigger than Dr Conrad Murray".

And Whitfield continued, "That courtroom wouldn't be big enough to holdeveryone in it that we feel would be accountable (for Jackson's death). "If Dr Murray may have helped Mr Jackson sleep, we certainly believe there were certainly (sic) other doctors helping him to stay up (to perform during the day)". Murray is the only medic charged in relation to the King of Pop's passing. His defense team maintains the singer is responsible for his own death by self-administering an overdose of propofol.

CONRAD MURRAY
Don't Worry ...
I'm Optimistic

Dr. Conrad Murray is "optimistic" about his chances for acquittal ... this according to people close to the doc.

Murray spent last night at home, with his baby mama Nicole Alvarez and their child. Murray says he has faith the jury will not come to the conclusion he caused Michael Jackson's death.

Murray has been the poster child for projecting innocence during a criminal trial, frequently seen strolling in Santa Monica and appearing carefree.  Two nights ago, he went to a popular Malibu restaurant with some of his patients.

MICHAEL JACKSON'S DAUGHTER
Destroyer of Wide Receivers

Like a 13-year-old Mike Singletary ... Paris Jackson was a focused instrument of destruction as a linebacker during a flag football game in L.A. yesterday.

Jackson -- who's the very first female in the history of her private school to join the squad -- also played a little offensive line ... and got STRAIGHT UP PHYSICAL with the boys, throwing some pretty aggressive blocks.

But Paris wasn't the only celebu-spawn on the gridiron ... Oksana Grigorieva and Timothy Dalton were standing on the sidelines to support their son, Alexander, who's also on PJ's team.

Jackson's school emerged victorious ... and after the game, she tweeted about it ... saying, "We Won 32-6!!!!!!!! Yeahhh Boiiiiii!"

Conrad Murray trial inspires Twitter parodies

It started with @TheConradMurray, a parody account of the Houston doctor charged with manslaughter in the death of Michael Jackson.

Almost daily, his Twitter feed crackles with off-color jokes about the trial, key witnesses and La Toya Jackson:

– “Where’s the bald guy from my “legal team”… I think he called in sick. Late night at the strip clubs. AGAIN.”

– “I don’t even write down my grocery list, why would I write down medical records?”

– “That awkward moment when I check to see what tie I’m wearing after he identified me by my clothing.”

– “We all went to Karaoke last night. I’m still thinking about Blanket’s version of Firework by Katy Perry. So good!”

– “So @latoyajackson took my phone last night and blew up all my ex-girlfriends. I’m not happy.”

Tasteless? Maybe. Funny? Often.

And it’s inspired a host of other parody accounts, including:

@TheChernoff: Defense attorney Ed Chernoff.

@NicoleAlvarez_: Nicole Alvarez, Murray’s girlfriend, mother of his son and keeper of the “instrument.”

@JudgePastor: Judge Michael Pastor.

@TheFlanagan: Defense attorney J. Michael Flanagan.

@fakeJVM: HLN talking head Jane Velez-Mitchell.

What do you think? Tacky or fun?

MJ's 13-Year-old Daughter
RECRUITED
By Lingerie Football League

Michael Jackson's 13-year-old football playing daughter is being recruited to be the face of an organization that swears it's helping break down barriers for women ... problem is, it's the Lingerie Football League.

TMZ has learned .. the LFL took notice when Paris Jackson became the first female in her L.A. private school to join the flag football team earlier this month ... and fired off a letter to the MJ Estate in the hopes PJ would be the spokesperson for the league's "youth program."

In the letter, obtained by TMZ, LFL Commissioner Mitchell S. Mortaza acknowledges a "lack of options for competitive female football" ... and says the league will "be introducing youth clinics across the country to introduce the game of football to young ladies at an earlier stage in life."

Mortaza adds, "We ... would like to invite Paris to become the spokesperson for the LFL's youth program and perhaps start training for a future football career in the LFL when she reaches the age of 18."

Mitchell makes a good point about the lack of football options for girls, but is a league that parades adult women around in their underwear really the right fit for mentoring KIDS????

Trial of Michael Jackson's doctor postponed till Wednesday

The manslaughter trial of Michael Jackson's personal doctor, which was shut down Monday because of a death in the family of a prosecution witness, was further postponed until Wednesday.

Defense Attorney J. Michael Flanagan will have more time to find the team's own expert opinions to support cross-examination of Steven Shafer, the next witness to be called by the prosecution. The manslaughter trial of Conrad Murray will resume on Wednesday.

Superior Court Judge Michael Pastor said he was putting off trial testimony for two reasons: giving Steven Shafer of New York, the witness, more time to handle family matters, and allowing defendant Conrad Murray's lawyers to obtain experts' response to a new toxicology test the coroner's office performed for the prosecution.

At a sometimes ill-tempered hearing with Murray and the jury absent Monday, defense lawyers Ed Chernoff and J. Michael Flanagan objected to prosecution plans to present the new test on Jackson's stomach contents when they resume questioning Shafer, an anesthesiologist.

Pastor gave the defense more time to find its own expert opinions to support cross-examination of Shafer. The judge scheduled another hearing for Tuesday afternoon to discuss the status of the defense's preparation.

Murray, 58, is accused of negligently causing Jackson's death in 2009 through an overdose of the surgical anesthetic propofol, which, according to the coroner's autopsy report, combined with the sedative lorazepam to stop Jackson's breathing. Murray, a cardiologist, has pleaded not guilty to a charge of involuntary manslaughter. His lawyers say Jackson ingested lethal doses of drugs himself when the doctor was out of the room.

Prosecutor David Walgren said Monday that his office had requested that Jackson's stomach contents be retested for lorazepam. This, he said, was in response to a defense-commissioned toxicology report on lorazepam that Flanagan presented to the jury last week during cross-examination of the coroner's toxicologist, Dan Anderson.
The defense's lab report enabled Flanagan to say there was enough lorazepam in the singer's stomach to prove that he had swallowed eight 2-milligram tablets of lorazepam, "enough to put six people to sleep."
By contrast, the new report that Walgren ordered says there was much less lorazepam than the defense claims.

In addition to questioning Shafer on the coroner's latest test, Walgren will recall Anderson to testify to his office's new report, he said.
The hearing grew tense after defense lawyers accused the prosecution of violating a September 2010 court order forbidding new tests on medical evidence without specific permission from the judge. Walgren said the order related only to syringes and other medical supplies, not to "biological evidence" such as stomach contents.

The defense ultimately agreed and apologized. "We're sorry, David," Chernoff said in a tone of sarcasm. "You did not violate a court order."
The judge interrupted. "His name is not David," Pastor said, implying that Chernoff should have addressed his opponent more formally.

Pastor ended the spat by saying, "There was an allegation the facts do not support, and there's an apology by the defense."
Chernoff said that having until Wednesday to study Anderson's new report "may rectify the problem." He had suggested not allowing Walgren to offer the report until the prosecution's rebuttal case, which will follow the presentation of the defense's expected 15 witnesses. Pastor said he would prefer that the lorazepam evidence be introduced this week during the prosecution's main case.

If the Lawyers such as Ed Chernoff and David Walgren are in the hoax, how were they chosen?...were they chosen by the FBI or by MJ?

Also why were these particular lawyers chosen?...is it to do with the Sting, if there is a Sting court? I do know that David Walgren is apart of the major crime unit (since 2005) which deals with public corruption.

Quote
The primary objective of Major Crimes Division is the prevention of significant disruptions of public order in the City of Los Angeles. The Board of Police Commissioners authorizes Major Crimes Division to investigate individuals or groups who plan, threaten, finance, aid, abet, attempt or perform unlawful acts which threaten public safety.

This reminds me of what was talked about in the TIAI sting thread about public corruption.

Facebook commerce outfit Milyoni had teamed up with Ridgeline Entertainment for the October 8 event from Millennium Stadium in Cardiff, Wales, which will be hosted by Jamie Foxx, with scheduled performers including Beyoncé, Christina Aguilera, The Black Eyed Peas, Jennifer Hudson, and Smokey Robinson.

The event is still scheduled to proceed, but it won’t stream on Facebook. Milyoni explained in a statement:

As the technology provider behind the live Facebook broadcast, Milyoni will fully refund all customers who pre-purchased access to the concert using Facebook Credits or PayPal.

Milyoni Chief Executive Officer John Corpus added:

ANGER AT MICHAEL JACKSON TRIBUTE CONCERT TICKETING SYSTEM

Fans hoping to go to the Michael Jackson tribute concert will be picked by the amount of money they donate to charity on top of the ticket price.

Chris Hunt, boss of gig organisers Global Live Events, told CNN profits from the October 8 Michael Forever show would go to charities in the United States and Britain. These are The Prince’s Trust, Aids Project Los Angeles and a cancer charity.

But fans logging on to buy tickets, which will not be available until August 4, are told: “Choose your ticket price and tell us how much you will give to the charities at the time of purchase.

“Remember the more you pledge to charity, the more chance you have of getting a ticket.

“Tickets will range from £55 to £289 plus shipping. The amount of your pledge is up to you.”

Jacko fan Daniel Robertson, from Cardiff, was appalled. The 32-year-old and his wife Ceri want five tickets for themselves and their three children.

The British Gas worker, of Mynachdy Road, Gabalfa, said: “It’s going to be like a lottery for the rich for myself and my family because the ticket prices are really high.

“They are steep ticket prices regardless, and then you have to donate to charity.

“I do a lot of work for the MS Society but it is wrong that you should be considered by the amount of money you can give to charity.”

On the concert’s Facebook page Caroline Rowley, who also lives in Cardiff, said: “What an utter disgrace. Choose what price you want to pay and then donate to a charity?

“The more you donate the more you stand to get a ticket? Disgusting.”

Mayah Thomas said: “Makes no sense does it?”

Jackie Segers claimed donations should go to Africa “to honour Michael”.

“I’ll gladly donate then, even if I can’t attend,” she said.

Ben Baggins expressed his “deepest and most sincere indifference”.

“I give my money directly to charities,” he added.

Natascha Derycke branded the affair “so sad”.

The Echo contacted Global Live and was referred to PR company Franklin Rae.

A spokeswoman claimed she was not aware of the situation and was unable to comment.

The Millennium Stadium is owned by the WRU.

A spokesman said: “We will, as usual, ensure that all ticket distribution complies with the stadium’s obligations.”

He insisted the company only provided the venue, adding: “We will ensure that the promoter is aware of any concerns raised in relation to the sale and distribution of tickets to the concert.”

The show’s official website  sets out a two-stage process to obtain tickets:

Stage One
Register your interest, choose your ticket price and tell us how much you will give to the charities at the time of purchase.

Remember, the more you pledge to charity, the more chance you have of getting a ticket. Tickets will range from £55 to £289 plus shipping. The amount of your pledge is up to you.

A number of special VIP Packages will be available details to follow soon.

The Registration period will last 76 hours from 8pm British Summer Time on Thursday 4 August 2011 until midnight British Summer Time on Sunday 7 August 2011.

Stage Two
If you are successful you will be invited to purchase a ticket within the price band you have selected. “Your charity donation which you pledged at registration will be collected at the same time as you pay for the tickets.”

Michael Jackson estate says it has no involvement in tribute show

The co-executors of the Michael Jackson estate, John Branca and John McClain, have released a statement confirming they have no involvement in the Michael Jackson tribute event that the late king of pop’s mother announced earlier this week. As previously reported, Katherine Jackson was joined by some of her other children to announce the ‘Michael Forever: The Tribute Concert’ event, which will take place in Cardiff on 8 Oct.

As also previously reported, two of Michael’s brothers not at the press conference, Jermaine and Randy, subsequently issued a statement saying they felt it was inappropriate to stage a big charity tribute show when Conrad Murray’s manslaughter trial in relation to their brother’s death was likely to still be going through the motions in court. Meanwhile Branca and McClain have now confirmed that the estate has no involvement in the event, and nor did they authorise the use of Michael’s name for it.
