Thankyou very much @CC for reminding me about the 1988 film, the Truman Show, starring Jim Carey as Truman Burbank. Here is a brief synopsis of the film: SYNOPSIS: The film centers on the life of Truman Burbank. At birth, Truman is legally adopted by a major television network to be the unknowing star of a television series, in which his entire life is watched by an audience of millions through an intricate series of hidden cameras. Christof, the main figure behind the concept of the Truman Show constructs an artificial world, entitled Seahaven, around Truman, which is actually just an extremely large television set. Everyone participating in this created world is an actor except for Truman himself. Truman is the only “authentic” person in this constructed world; even his mother, father, and wife are paid actors/actresses. Throughout his entire life, the television network is on a continual mission to keep Truman in ignorance of his situation through the manipulation of his environment. I couldn’t help but notice your Tom Jones reference. He is Welsh and he is “ Alive” apparently! The song is a tradition in many Major League Baseball stadiums. Boston's Fenway Parkhas played the song since at least 1997, and it has been played at every game in the middle of the eighth inning since 2002 by the influence of Amy Tobey, a production agent responsible for the audio played over the park's loudspeakers. "She had noticed 'Sweet Caroline' was used at other sporting events, and she decided to send the sweetness over the Fenway speakers." On opening night of the 2010 season at Fenway Park, the song was performed (albeit abridged) by Diamond himself. It is also played at sporting events at the University of Pittsburgh. Frank Dileo managed the King Of Pop career at the height of his reign in fact Jackson called him my other half, my shield of armor.
Frank: Why did he fire me? That’s a good question, but I think it was ah, ah, he fired me because it was politically asked of him. There was an outside record executive with a big time lawyer and one executive at Sony who would like to see Michael’s power cut in half. And by getting rid of me was half the power. 18 years ago today, August 24, 1993, Diane Dimond delivered Breaking News to the public that Michael Jackson had been accused of Child Molestation.
Also, wasn’t it a “fan” that phoned Frank Dileo on his personal cell phone, to alert Frank that Michael has been taken to the hospital the morning of June 25, 2009?

This announcement made me think of the recent comment by Jay-Z comparing his wife, Beyonce, to Michael Jackson! mj_bad/ Entertainment Weekly writes: During an interview with Miami radio station 99 Jamz, Jay compared his wife’s work ethic to that of late pop icon Michael Jackson. Then he took it a step further, saying she’s the closest thing we’ve got to MJ now.
'What I’ve learned from her is the same thing I learned from Mike,' Jay said after being asked what Beyoncé’s taught him. 'And I know it’s blasphemy to compare the two because Mike was such an innovator. But I think she’s like the second coming. Thankyou for your well-researched “Green” post @TheRunningGirl! “Bein’ Green” is such a beautiful song! ...written by Joe Raposo in 1970 for the first season of the children's television program Sesame Street. It was originally performed by Kermit the Frog (voiced by Jim Henson).
In the song, Kermit begins by lamenting his green coloration, expressing that green ‘blends in with so many ordinary things’ and wishing to be some other color. Hello @TheMoonIsDancing. Do we have CONCRETE proof of Gene Simmons actually saying 'Michael Jackson is a child molestor'? Is there footage of these words coming from his own mouth? I was able to find a Gene Simmons interview, by a Toronto radio station, in which Gene Simmons speaks to his beliefs about Michael. The interview is conducted sometime after June 25, 2009. [youtube]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YFepMwG50jk[/youtube] Gene Simmons is very well-spoken AND he speaks with conviction. He has made his feelings about Michael VERY clear to the public. So, one has to ask the question, WHY would this man be invited to pay tribute to another man whom he clearly does not not like or support?. And, WHY would he have EVER accepted that invitation? "People have been asking me about Jani Lane & I really don't know what to say. Picturing him by himself in a Comfort Inn in Woodland Hills with a bottle of vodka & a bottle of pills is so typical of what a rock musician's life actually is. It is a life marked by extremes. Extreme attention from people you don't know, while all the work & travel takes you away from those you actually do know. Playing to thousands of people & then going back to your hotel room & shutting the door.
When the door shuts... the quiet is the exact opposite of the volume of the concert. The solitude of the empty hotel room becomes the diametric parallel of the adulation of strangers. For some, the bottle of vodka or whatever becomes a friend that is always there for you while others come & go.
Yes I have felt these emotions myself. If you see me going head over heels over a girl, it's because all I have ever wanted is to have a girl to love & share my life with, & for the one I love to be with me wherever I'm at, travel with me to distant locales & stay in nice kick ass hotel suites & have fun & sing & dance & see the world. But so far this is a fantasy.
Just like Jani, I spend most of my time alone in a hotel room dreaming of a girl I love who is somewhere else. I bet Jani Lane felt exactly what I feel. How could he not? I remember decades ago being invited to Jani's house for a barbeque, which we went to. But Jani didn't show up. So I spent the afternoon with Jani's Dad cooking burgers & steaks & having a wonderful day with his family.
My condolences to his family & especially Jani's children who now only have memories of their Dad to hold on to. That is truly heartbreaking. Let this be yet another lesson to tell someone some kind words sometimes... before it's too late... while they are still alive. I can guarantee Jani Lane would not have anticipated everyone coming out of the woodwork extolling the life & times of Jani Lane. Which is why he probably died alone. In a hotel room. With his only real friend... that killed him in the end."

Ever since reading about MJ and 9/11 and how he escaped death by not attending that morning meeting at the World Trade Center I cannot get the musical Godspell or its connection to this out of my head!!!! That is an interesting comment @michaelsupporterThe Brooklyn Bridge is featured in both the film Godspell AND The Wiz. The Twin Towers are seen with the bridge in the picture in both films. New York landmarks play a major part in this movie musical. The yellow brick road that Dorothy and friends follow extends into a subway station and across Brooklyn Bridge; thrash bins become monsters attacking the characters in the subway station; New York Cabs are seen during their journey and the characters stay in an a Motel named after Emerald City.
