Sven,

Thankyou very much for handing me the Star Map!  I hope that you are not handing it to me and then kickin' me to the curb like they did with Linda, the Star Map lady!  I hate to be out of the loop!

This is all so fascinating!  Yes!  The Magician is #1.  Here is the basic story of the Tarot:

Quote
Traveling on his way, the Fool first encounters a Magician. Skillful, self-confident, a powerful magus with the infinite as a halo floating above his head, the Magician mesmerizes the Fool. When asked, the Fool gives over his bundled pack and stick to the Magician. Raising his wand to heaven, pointing his finger to Earth, the Magician calls on all powers. Magically, the cloth of the pack unfolds upon the table, revealing its contents.

To the Fool's eyes, it is as if the Magician has created the future with a word. All the possibilities are laid out, all the directions he can take: The cool, airy Sword of intellect and communication, the fiery Wand of passions and ambition, the overflowing Chalice of love and emotions, the solid Pentacle of work, possessions and body.

With these tools, the Fool can create anything, make anything of his life. But here's the question, did the Magician create the tools, or were they already in the pack? Only the Magician knows - and on this mystery, our eloquent mage refuses to say a word.

At #1, the Magician is the male power of creation by willpower and desire. The lemniscate (infinity symbol) over his head indicates the energy of thought. Thus, he draws divine power down from the heavens into his white wand, molds it with that energy of thought, and makes it manifest on Earth (his finger pointing to the ground). This is that most ancient magic to make real whatever he imagines in his head merely by saying it aloud. ("And God said 'Let there be Light!' and there was Light").

Reflecting this is the fact that the Magician is often represented by Mercury. Mercury is the planet and god of smooth talkers and salesmen. Also clever with the sleight of hand (Mercury *was* the god of thieves!) and a medicine man - either a real doctor or someone trying to sell you snake oil.

The 4 suits before him remind us of the 4 aces, which in the Tarot symbolize the raw, undeveloped, undirected power of each suit. When the Magician appears, he reveals these to you. The tarot reader might well interpret this card as telling the querent that they will be given a vision, an idea, a magical, mental image of whatever it is they most want: the solution to a problem, an ambitious career, a love life, a job.

Thirteen's Observations

If any card in the Tarot is the Tarot, it is the Magician. He's one of the most recognizable cards, always a favorite. He's also the only card in the major arcana that refers to the minors with the "trumps" displayed upon his table. One way to look at them is as ideas that the Magician is offering you. Thus, the card is about getting an idea and finding a way to verbalize it. This is the first step toward making it a reality. Which is why the Magician can indicate a time when one is eloquent and charismatic, clever, witty, inventive and persuasive.

Keep in mind, however, that the Magician could be a trickster. If this card represents some magnetic person in the querent's life, they need to make sure that he's or she is a genuine magician, not a con man.

The card can also indicate an interest in certain careers or someone who is already in one of those careers: a scientist, inventor or medical professional. The card also relates to careers where speech and writing is of great importance: salesman, motivational speaker, storyteller, politician, commentator. This might be the querent himself, something the querent wants to be, or someone who was, is or will be in his life.

Most importantly, the Magician card stands for the "reveal" - as in a magic trick. The handkerchief is draped over an empty box, the Magician waves his wand, *presto!*--now there is a dove in the box. The Magician card does the same for the querent--only what it reveals is not birds or rabbits but NEW ideas. Emphasis on NEW. When the Magician card appears, the querent is likely to say: "Now there's an idea! Why didn't I think of that before?" Truth is the querent probably had that idea in his head all along. The Magician merely revealed it to him, allowed him to verbalize it and crystallize that idea. But what will the Querent do with this idea? That's a question for the next card....

Hi Sven! Thanks for the reply...

Yes! Hermes...probably the most important figure for ALCHEMY practitioners! He had an EMERALD Tablet, too! Here's an interesting read about Hermes et al:

The thing is about those Alchemists...they were always doing EXPERIMENTS. Always trying to come up with a Magnum Opus...their greatest work yet! One major goal of those alchemists was to try to turn base metals, such as LEAD, into GOLD! The end result was thought to contribute to IMMORTALITY!

Spiritually speaking, the process of Transmutation is like going from an un-enLIGHTened soul to an ENLIGHTENED soul.  It's like the Kundalini energy rising up through the chakras from the base to the top!

My thoughts on 2026/2027...2/26 are the Academy Awards, where they give out those GOLD-plated statues, and 2/27 is Liz Taylor's 80th birthday.  Hmmm!

Hello Sven,

I like your avatar, but I liked your previous avatar even more! It was a picture of Hermes Trismegistus, wasn't it? It was there ever-so-briefly!

You are into Hermetic Philosophy, I see. This is in keeping with Hermes Trismegistus, who authored the 'Hermetic Corpus'..." a sacred text belonging to the genre of divine revelation." He was the representative combo of the gods Thoth and Hermes.

"Both Thoth and Hermes were gods of writing and of magic in their respective cultures. Thus, the Greek god of interpretive communication was combined with the Egyptian god of wisdom as a patron of astrology and alchemy. In addition, both gods were psychopomps; guiding souls to the afterlife."

Hi @voiceforthesilent!

The Bell Centre in Montreal seating capacity is 15,000 for concerts.  It is possible that CDS needed further space and further reduced the seating capacity.

Hi guys,
Just to correct a bit, one does not have to be intubated to receive Propofol. A patient is intubated when receiving Propofol as part of general anesthesia in the OR, as a continuous Propofol infusion.  Or if sedation is required for an intubated patient who needs to be ventilated, say in an ICU-type situation, a Propofol infusion will be run so that they will not "fight" the endotracheal tube + ventilator, and will conserve much needed energy.

Propofol is also used as a single dose for more minor procedures, without intubation, but it's effects will only last about 20 minutes. This is ONLY done in a highly monitored area, with the proper safety equipment and personnel available, should the patient get into respiratory difficulties.  Another single dose would be required in about 20 minutes and so on and so forth. So, Murray would have had to be sitting there and "pushing" Propofol all night into Michael's IV to keep him asleep. He would have NOT been intubated all night, without a ventilator, on a PROPOFOL infusion at home. NO WAY!!! The story is BOGUS no matter how you slice it!

Thankyou for your VERY interesting post @TheRunningGirl. So we have Diane Dimond, Gloria Allred, and Nancy Grace all brought together! NICE! Not to mention DD's new book Cirque de Salahi: Be Careful Who You Trust!!!  /cook/   bounce/

Here is the most recent TMZ article re Michaele Salahi and the Journey guitarist, Neal Schon.  Hopefully we can keep this thread going, because it is definitely something to behold! The letter to Michaele from the website is a particularly excellent touch!

MICHAELE SALAHI
Offered Job at Website for Cheaters

Michaele Salahi has suddenly become the most famous cheating spouse in the land -- which is why one website that specializes in extramarital affairs ... wants her to be their new spokeswoman.

A site called MarriedWivesClub.com has reached out to Salahi's management group in an effort to recruit her to work for them. The site -- which claims that 50% of women and 60% of men cheat -- feels that Michaele would be "the perfect cheating spouse to represent" them.

Because when you've landed one of the guys from Journey, clearly you know what you're doing.

TAREQ SALAHI
BANNED from Journey Concerts

Tareq Salahi has lost both his wife AND his Journey privileges IN THE SAME WEEK!!!

Security on the Journey tour have been given orders to keep Tareq out of the backstage area during the remainder of their concert tour ... even though he may have an all-access pass.

Take a look at the poster (above) that will be plastered at upcoming Journey venues, including the Aaron's Amphitheatre in Atlanta, where the band is performing tonight.

Tareq and Journey were tight before he found out guitarist Neal Schon has been banging his wife behind his back -- that tends to ruin a friendship.

Interestin’ TMZ article! :) This is no Catch 22!

Journey is better known for their 1981 hit Don’t Stop Believin’ from their album Escape, released in 1981.
Don’t Stop Believin’ shares a similar beat to Michael’s 1983 Billie Jean.

The P.S. 22 choir, from Staten Island, New York were recorded singing Don’t Stop Believin’ (see at 1:10 in the video from jackieblue64 below).

The same P.S. 22 choir that sang Somewhere over the Rainbow at the Academy Awards (aka The Oscars) on 7/22/2011.

Neal Schon, the guitarist of the band Journey, was born on 2/27/1954, 22 years after Dame Elizabeth Taylor (2/27/1932); they both celebrated their birthdays on the night of the 83rd Oscars, 2/27/2011.

Steve Perry of Journey was one of the solo performers on the 1985 charity single We Are The World.

Thankyou very much to everyone who has shared their thoughts on this thread.  I am still shaking my head that next to nothing was reported in the media about Diana yesterday, on the 14th anniversary of her death.  So very sad!  There are signs, however, that the French judicial system continues to look into the events leading up to the death of Lady Diana, and that the TRUTH may yet emerge.

It also appears that Unlawful Killing will be distributed in a number of countries.  This may help to change some common beliefs of the events surrounding Lady Diana’s death.

The new trailer for Unlawful Killing, Keith Allen's controversial documentary about Princess Diana, was unveiled exclusively on Digital Spy on July 1st 2011, the day Lady Diana would have celebrated her 50th Birthday.

To quote @TheRunningGirl from July 25, 2011:
Quote
It is the same Mohamed Al Fayed who financed Unlawful Killing, the documentary that examines an alleged cover-up over the death of Princess Diana and first aired during the Cannes Film Festival this year.

On the 22nd July 2011, the Express (A NON MURDOCH Newspaper) published an article stating that “TWO of Britain’s leading former police officers are wanted for questioning over allegations that they withheld crucial evidence about the car crash which killed Princess Diana.  A French judge wants to ask ex-Yard chief Lord Condon and Sir David Veness why they failed to disclose the existence of a note in which she predicted her assassination.”

Other Odd Things / Re: JIM CARREY: I LOVE YOU......I DO!!!!!
« on: September 01, 2011, 12:49:29 AM »
Thanks for the great find @gwynned!

Robbie Williams released a DVD in 2003, entitled the Robbie Williams Show.  Apparently, Robbie is a big Elvis fan and he based the opening of the show on the moves and the set @ the beginning of Elvis' 1968 Comeback TV special.
Quote
The show's opening number, "Trouble"/"Handsome Man", is identical in concept and staging to the opening sequence of Elvis Presley's '68 Comeback Special, down to the same opening song ("Trouble") with the same arrangement. The only differences are the huge RW logo with arrows in red lights (replacing the ELVIS one), and female dancers on the jail cell back-drop holding microphones, instead of male ones holding guitars. The stage sets in the show are also similar to the ones used in the live concert segments of Presley's TV special.

I found this video someone uploaded, that does a side-by-side comparison of Elvis' and Robbie's performances.  The scaffolding and dancers in in the second number looks extremely familiar!!!   elvis_/

14 years ago today, August 31, 1997, Lady Diana was in a fatal car crash.  Michael lost a very close friend that day.  There is very little in any of the online newpapers today to commemorate Lady Diana.  The Huffington Post did an article today that COULD be considered as neutral, but otherwise, there hasn’t been much more!

14 years after-the-fact, is Diana still a threat to the Establishment? Has the "People’s Princess" already been forgotten? It hasn’t been that long! Why THIS silence?

Diana was a close friend of Michael and he was very distressed when she died.  The Bashir interview may have been a way for Michael to bring the focus back on Lady Diana and seek Justice for her friend.  This video from The Michael Project supports this perspective.  It's approximately mid-way through the video that the focus turns to Lady Diana.

I agree with TheRunningGirl that the Cardiff ForeverTribute concert points towards the monarchy and possibly seeking justice for Diana. Here is the link to TheRunningGirl’s EXCELLENT post:

Michael Jackson - Jackson's Residency Disrupted By Dinosaurs
11 March 2009 16:20

Jackson's Residency Disrupted By Dinosaurs

Superstar MICHAEL JACKSON's plans for a sensational run of comeback concerts in London was stalled - by a show about dinosaurs.

The King of Pop wanted to stage a summer spectacular at London's O2 Arena by taking over the venue for a two-month residency.  But he was told he would have to step aside for almost a week in August (09) - to make way for a show featuring fake prehistoric monsters.

Walking With Dinosaurs:  The Arena Spectacular was already booked in to the O2 for a six-day stint in the middle of Jackson's planned run, and thousands of tickets had been sold.  It meant the Thriller hitmaker had to plan his live revival around the dates already taken by the monster show.

A source at the O2 says, "Jackson's people have been in talks with the venue bosses about his comeback for months. Whatever time period was agreed on, Michael wanted to block-book the Arena for a residency.  But his people were told there was no way it could happen as so many other shows were booked in advance.  "Eventually he settled on the summer and agreed to work around any shows already booked.  Michael Jackson might be the biggest pop star in the world - and these shows are the hottest ticket in town - but not even he can override pre-existing contracts."

Jackson announced last week (05Mar09) he would play 10 dates at the O2 in east London in July (09) - his last ever shows in the U.K. capital.  Tickets went on sale on Wednesday (11Mar09) - and when more than a million people tried to buy seats, the singer announced he would play a further string of shows, ending his run at the venue in September (09).

As WENN went to press, the singer had confirmed a total of 27 shows at the O2.
