Register or LoginAnschutz Entertainment Group has unveiled a significant corporate restructuring of its live entertainment subsidiary AEG Live, with longtime CEO Randy Phillips ankling, and AEG COO Jay Marciano taking the reins as chairman. The announcement comes a little more than a year after Philip Anschutz’s Anschutz Co. unsuccessfully attempted to sell off AEG – the second-largest concert promoter in the world, and owner of venues such as L.A.’s Staples Center and London’s O2 Arena. Phillips has been a major player in L.A. civic and political circles for years through the clout of Anschutz and AEG. With Marciano taking over, there’s other shuffling among AEG execs. Paul Tollett, founder of AEG subsidiary Goldenvoice and the annual Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival, will join the AEG Live board and gain the title of president and CEO of Goldenvoice. John Meglen will be promoted to president of global touring, Shawn Trell will take over as COO, and Rick Mueller will be named president of AEG Live North America. “Jay is a highly respected veteran of the live entertainment business,” said AEG president and CEO Dan Beckerman in a statement. “With his increased involvement in the management of AEG Live as its chairman, and with the wealth of experience and expertise found among the rest of the AEG Live executive team, there is no limit to what this group can accomplish.” In his decade-long tenure at the helm of AEG Live, Phillips had been responsible for such coups as Celine Dion’s residency at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas. He was also named in a wrongful death suit filed by the family of Michael Jackson against AEG Live, which served as promoter for Jackson’s planned residency at London’s O2 Arena before his 2009 death. Phillips was subsequently dismissed, and last month a jury exonerated AEG from liability.

Our sources say Paris -- who's currently receiving psychological help at UCLA Medical Center -- has indeed felt bullied, but NOT by schoolmates. We're told Paris has had an obsession with comments people leave about her on social media and websites -- and the negative comments "really get to her." Our sources say she currently does not have access to her phone or the Internet, so the problem is temporarily solved. Paris, one source says, is a "rebel." We've learned Paris almost got expelled from school after punching a student who "talked smack about her father." We're told Debbie Rowe has expressed deep concern about some of the friends Paris has been hanging with -- friends who she believes have been a bad influence. And there's this ... we're told the shrinks who have been helping Paris believe she has not really gone through the grieving process over her dad's death. In other words, a lot of emotional upset has been building for nearly 4 years. We're told when Paris gets out of UCLA ... she and Debbie Rowe are going away together for 6 to 8 weeks so she can get better. Paris and grandma Katherine Jackson have inked a deal for the 15-year-old to appear in "Lundon's Bridge and the Three Keys." Sources connected with the project tell TMZ ... producers are well aware Paris' attempted suicide and subsequent 5150 psychiatric hold could result in a skyrocketing insurance premium for the movie. A source connected with the animated flick tells TMZ, "There's a policy that we will have to buy now that we would not have had to buy prior to the incident." The source goes on, "We're prepared to pay a large amount of money for the policy," adding, "Fortunately, we have a big budget." Paris won't be needed for 6 months, and producers feel that's enough time for her to get her life back on track. We're told producers are solidly behind Paris doing the project. Murray used a pay phone to send what he calls a "letter" to Paris, telling her "I don't know if there's anything to do to solve your pain," adding, "I'm here for you." The message is bizarre ... Murray also uses the title of a Jackson song, "You Are Not Alone." He also uses verses from "Ain't No Mountain High Enough" and "You've Got a Friend." And there's this ... Sources connected with the once estranged mother/daughter tell TMZ ... they were "hanging out" at Debbie's ranch when one of Debbie's neighbors was thrown from a horse and injured. Debbie and Paris took the neighbor to the hospital and waited there to make sure he was ok. Our sources say the two have been hanging out "a lot recently" and they've gotten very close. You may recall ... shortly after Michael Jackson died, Debbie was given visitation rights. Our sources say Debbie did not exercise those rights for a long time, because she wanted her contact with the kids to be genuine and not forced. That time has clearly come for Paris and Debbie. In MJ Wrongful Death Suit![]() Katherine Jackson is getting her way ... a judge just ordered Dr. Conrad Murray to spill the beans in her wrongful death lawsuit against AEG. According to legal docs, Mrs. Jackson wants Murray to testify about comments he made in his documentary, in which Murray said an AEG honcho told him, Jackson was on "death skid row" and AEG owned "the toilet paper he wipes his ass with" and "the f**kin' popsicles that his children are sucking on" and "if he doesn't get the show done he's over." Mrs. Jackson thinks Murray's comments will help convince a jury AEG played fast and loose with her son's life, and that they happily hired the reckless doctor to care for him. As you recall, Paris and Prince got into it with Janet ... the video shows Janet confronting Paris and then apparently trying to get at her cell phone. Paris then charged past Janet, who is then restrained by Randy. There was subsequently a physical confrontation ... we're told between Randy and Jermaine on one side, and Trent on the other. Law enforcement sources tell TMZ ... the case is now closed because no one from the Jackson family would speak to cops. In fact, we're told none of them even returned various calls from detectives. Her father, the legendary Michael Jackson, tried desperately to give his daughter a normal childhood by shielding her face during their few public outings. Fast forward to today, and 14-year-old Paris is ubiquitous, trying to break into the world of Hollywood and making sure everyone knows her name. Last week, Paris proved that she could walk the red carpet like other Hollywood pros. Dressed in a curve-hugging, floor length gown, she looked years beyond her age at the Mr. Pink Ginseng Drink launch party. She may soon be walking the red carpet more often. In the past year, Paris has been outspoken about her dream of becoming an actress, telling Oprah Winfrey it's always been her passion. "I just love it, and I think that it's amazing," Paris said. "You can be a totally different person on camera. It's fun. You can take on another character." Paris' dream started as a young girl, watching her father, she told Ellen DeGeneres. "My dad was in the movie 'Moonwalker,' and I knew he could sing really well, but I didn't know he could act," she said. "I saw that and thought, 'Wow, I want to be just like him.'" Drew pointed out that while some people may doubt Paris' acting, many more will want to see her talent because she is Jackson's daughter. Moved into Bigger Cell
... Still Complaining![]() EXCLUSIVE DETAILS The L.A. County Sheriff has moved Dr. Conrad Murray into a larger cell -- but the good doc still ain't happy with the upgrade, telling his lawyer, "I'm dying. You gotta save me." Murray was transferred from a 5'x7' cell to a 8'x10' cell yesterday -- the biggest in the jail -- but he spoke to his lawyer soon after, saying, "I am a condemned prisoner right now. I look in the mirror and I don't even know who I'm looking at." As we reported, Murray -- who is 6'5" -- has been griping constantly about his living conditions behind bars, claiming he's dying a slow death due to the cramped spaces. Murray says the new cell doesn't have bars to elevate his leg -- which has become swollen due to a lack of movement. He says the new cell is also more isolated, and he still isn't getting more exercise. We're told Murray is grateful for the attention -- but it's just not enough. Calls to the L.A. Register or LoginTohme Tohme - Forbes 2/17/12 Tohme, the estate says in a complaint filed by attorney Howard Weitzman, ran amok during his short term between January 2008 and March 2009. It was Tohme, working for Thomas Barrack‘s Colony Capital, who pulled off the sale of Neverland to Colony. But according to the complaint, Jackson never understood that Tohme was also going to receive a finder’s fee for doing work for his own employer. Jackson had no lawyer representing him in his many signed agreements with Tohme, and so didn’t understand that when Colony came up with $24 million to bail out Neverland, Tohme would get $2.4 million. Tohme, the complaint further reads, got Jackson to sign an agreement paying him $35,000 a month. He was also to receive 15% of all gross compensation Jackson received for anything he did in the entertainment field. Jackson signed not one but two Power of Attorney documents giving Tohme “extraordinary” powers. He also gave himself a $100,000 per month producers fee for the run of Jackson’s London concert dates–from July 2009 through at least March 2010. All of this Jackson signed without a lawyer, and despite numerous stories (many written by yours truly) about Tohme’s many assertions about his credentials being false. It was during Tohme’s regime, for example, that the contents of Neverland were emptied and consigned to an auction house in Beverly Hills. The auction didn’t proceed when Jackson finally got a grip, and a lawyer, stopped the auction. Tohme then took back the contents and warehoused them. When Jackson died, the estate had to negotiate with him to get back the property. Out of luck was Julien’s Auction House, which published a now collectible catalog of everything that had been in Neverland. “Tohme took possession and control of money and property that belonged to Jackson.Tomhe did not return to Jackson and refuses to deliver to the executors all of the property and cash belonging to Jackson that Tohme took possession and control of.” On a side note, Tohme used to claim he was a doctor from Lebanon. But he could never prove to me that he was a doctor and when I questioned him about it in 2008, he told me wasn’t practicing.
