Hoax Pictures / Re: Problemo, funeral pics comparison
« on: December 17, 2009, 01:44:12 AM »
I was pretty shocked by the choice of the photos as well. I would have thought that the photo(s) chosen would be of MJ with his kids.

This Is It / Re: Photographer on Michael rehearsals
« on: December 17, 2009, 01:25:39 AM »
No idea but maybe other artists were performing at the O2 so weeks of MJ rehearsals could not take place in London?? If so (again I have no idea is this is true or not) then they would need to build a nearly identical stage so that MJ, the dancers, the musicians, etc. could precisely plan out the show (i.e. know where on stage they would be, perfecting those "jumping" hydraulic moves - everything to perfection). Just a thought.

Also I imagine if the O2 shows were going to happen the crew would rebuild the sets to fit the O2 size specifications (and probably not move everything from LA). This happens a lot in the film industry - one set to rehearse and another built on location. It would help to hear from some stage hands/ crew guys/ roadies what exactly happened timeline-wise.

(edited after re-reading photog's quotes)

AEG did not require the physical exam; Lloyds of London, the insurance company, did. They are 2 separate entities. AEG did not need to "fix" a medical exam. They stated numerous times (long before June) that they would insure the concerts themselves if MJ did not pass the physical, so there was no need for them to fix anything.

Lloyds of London required the physical to insure the first group of concerts (only a set number of shows, like 17 or something--all this info is verifiable through legitimate news sources on the web, dating back months before June). And they hired the doctor who performed the physical.  Then MJ was to have another physical exam in London to verify that he was still in good health, in order to get the remainder of the concerts insured. Whether or not the concerts were ever going to happen (I believe they were, at least initially), the Insurance company would NOT be involved in the hoax, because that is FRAUD. I see no reason for MJ to risk that; and I certainly do not think an insurance company that big would risk it either. And there would be more than one insurance company involved, because Lloyds has several smaller insurance companies underneath it, and one ore more of those were the ones providing the actual tour insurance.  It would make no sense at all for all those insurance companies to be involved in a hoax. So MJ would have to have had the physical, which he passed. That is all AEG was ever told, because they are not legally entitled to see any of his medical records.

Thanks for the info - very helpful.

Is Katz the attorney for the family or for MJ? I can't remember.

Kenny Ortega / Re: Kenny Ortega makes musical movie
« on: December 16, 2009, 06:07:06 PM »
From his credits looks like he does a fair amount of directing and choreographing so maybe MJ thought he was suited for both?

And Stage Directing like for: Hannah Montana/Miley Cyrus: Best of Both Worlds Concert Tour (2008)

It's not a musical for Broadway - it's a film adaptation of the musical "In the Heights."

Says MJ "was my dear friend" and he's still close with the family. Also "there is a lot to come" and more interviews with Ortega, Travis Payne, TII dancers and staff members.

Hmm... I think he is a big fan but don't know about his claims of a big announcement.  :?

Other Odd Things / Re: Mums The Word

IMO in THEIR eyes there is nothing noteworthy to report. They've covered Murray going back to work. There have been numerous interviews with the family and their so-called feelings on MJ's passing. There have been several articles/ interviews on the reality show. I think they think there needs to be something big to spend the time and resources to cover it. Again I have to say they are waiting for the next chapter to unfold (will Murray be arrested and what are the conclusions of the investigation)?

To me, definitely they are playing the waiting game. They don't want to show their cards (discuss in a public forum) until the LAPD takes the lead and makes an announcement on the investigation in January.

Read articles about DR performing and helping out with her new grandchild. There are definite gaps in the "public Diana" timeline.  :)

James Brown / Re: James Brown Funeral vs MJ Funeral. Feel the difference

Is it normal in the USA to have an open casket at a funeral?  Is that the custom?

Totally depends on the deceased/ family's wishes. There is no hard and fast rule/ custom on this. Obviously closed caskets occur when there is severe trauma to the body.

Not trying to put words in Lucrecia's mouth but I understood her question to be how does using doubles at some points in TII contribute to the hoax theory?

I agree the questions to the mortician are odd but sitting vigil for a lengthy period of time with someone you love and are mourning is not necessarily out of the ordinary. Many families schedule viewings the night before a funeral that last several hours.

Surfing and trying to find if someone passed on 9/25 or 9/26-ish who could be connected to the word "Prince." Aargh.
