Katie Holmes left Tom because she was afraid of Suri getting pulled into the Church of Scientology. Why do you think she waited till he was in Iceland? Escaping the clutches of a cult or manipulative quasi-religion requires tactics and strategy. Other Scientologists have needed help getting out too.
