I've been reading behind the scenes lately and although I don't really have anything to add to the investigation, I just wanted to comment on all of the exciting things happening in this thread. I love the photo montages Sim (you had to use pics from Keep it in the Closet lol)

I don't like the tone of the article but I couldn't find a better link:
Ok, I've been hearing this doomsday stuff about the Mayan calendar and it's prediction of the end of the world. Well, sometimes we just don't think of the obvious. Here is a little tidbit that may just relieve your mind a little. The Earth orbits the sun every 365 and a quarter days. The calendar gains a day every four years. In 45bc Caesar created the leap year so the ancient roman calendar would automatically correct itself as it does to this day. The Mayan calendar did not take leap year into account so they were off buy several months. Today, without these added extra days, would be around the beginning of August 2013. The end of the world would have occurred in June of last year. So take a breath, pay your taxes, maintain your 401K, open your Christmas savings account, and don't burn any bridges. We can all have a good laugh at the foolish that went underground on December the 20th as they come sheepishly crawling out a few days later. You are not allowed to view links. I'm more focused on the differences between Michael and Whitney's deaths. The differences in how long they tried resuscitation, the differences in how long before burial and the differences in reactions of close friends. To me, it makes Michael's death look more like a hoax while Whitney's looks more real.

Janet Jackson / Re: Janet Jackson Talks Whitney and her brother's passing« on: February 15, 2012, 02:52:28 PM »
It's pretty common to use passed away instead of died (people think it doesn't sound as harsh) in the U.S. It's not as common to say passed by itself but I still have heard it a fair amount. 8

Register or Login While I do agree that pharmacies and doctors over prescribe medications, I do not think that that is the entire issue. You can not deny that some prescriptions are needed. There is a reason why our life span went up and deaths from many diseases decreased with the advent of antibiotics. So I respectfully disagree that all drugs are not not needed or that if someone is sick, they can always cure it with exercise and a good diet. The problem is that people abuse everything. I think it is dangerous to say that certain mental illnesses are fake because there are people out there who truly have chemical imbalances. However, there are people who think they are depressed or just want drugs and so they pretend to have these mental illnesses. The problem is that you can not test for these mental illnesses and so doctors have to go off of what the patient says. If the patient presents them with the appropriate symptoms, they are required to treat them. They can't just say that they think they are making it up. Just like if a drug addict comes in and says they are in pain, doctors have to treat that pain as it is very real and then they can report them to the appropriate people. So yes pharmacies and doctors over prescribe medications but people have to take responsibility too. It is their responsibility to know that you can't mix alcohol with certain medications and it is their responsibility to only take the directed dose. I guess what I am trying to say is that if we want to truly fix the problem, we have to fix all sides of the issue and not just one part. 10

Police Put Security Hold on Whitney Houston Autopsy Results
Today 4:04 PM PST by NATALIE FINN Kevin Winter/Getty Images There won't be real answers for weeks regarding Whitney Houston's technical cause of death, but not even the usual "inconclusive" placeholder is forthcoming this time. The Beverly Hills Police Department has placed a security hold on any conclusions determined today by the autopsy performed on the pop icon, who died yesterday afternoon at the age of 48. MORE: Bobby Brown "deeply saddened" by Whitney's death, mom Cissy Houston calls it "unimaginable tragedy" "Nothing is being released at this time," says John Kades of the Los Angeles County Department of Coroner. Authorities issued a statement earlier that there were "no obvious signs of criminal intent," but the BHPD will not be releasing any more information regarding its investigation until at least tomorrow. Standard protocol is for the coroner's office to confirm that the autopsy proved inconclusive pending the result of toxicology tests, so a security hold in which no comment at all is available is out of the norm.
