Other Odd Things / a very strange article dated March 4, 2009
« on: July 04, 2010, 05:30:37 PM »
This article is from March 2009, it is in French but I did the translation of the text. I found the last paragraph (which show) was interesting. how they knew that Michael recorded a hundred songs to bequeath a legacy enfants.une its way to fake his own death presage a touch funereal atmosphere.

PEOPLE - The singer is expected to announce Thursday a series of concerts. But if he does not sing and not dance, what's the point of these shows?
It was now used to keep abreast of the news of Michael Jackson through the topics of justice or celebrity magazines. However, the singer is preparing his comeback music. He convened the press Thursday in London, to announce a thirty concerts coming up in the British capital, according to Reuters. What might a new show from "Bambi", whose last performance in 2006, had been a flop?

Places expensive
Besides the love of his fans or the call of the stage, the star clearly has other motives much less acceptable to justify his return: he needs to build. The singer, ruined, is forced to auction his personal affairs. There are whispers that the VIP seats of upcoming concerts would be sold in 1,000 pounds (1,123 euros), allowing Michael Jackson to garner up to 150 million pounds (169 million euros). What return a fixed roof for the star who, since he had to sell his Neverland Ranch, has moved several times, notably in Bahrain, Europe and Las Vegas. Unless he can use them to cover its debts, estimated at 300 million dollars (about 240 million euros).

Will he sing?
The big question that everyone asks for his performance failed at the World Music Awards in November 2006. The artist had come to receive an award for having sold over 100 million albums during his career. But instead of interpreting "Thriller" as the waiting fans, Chris Brown, who sang the title.
Michael Jackson was content to drone few words of "We Are The World", accompanied by young.
It is therefore not impossible that the singer redo the shot. He is also the easy playback, popular among singers.

Will he dance?
Speculation about the health of the star, 50, is well underway. According to journalist Ian Halperin, author of an unauthorized biography of the singer, "Michael Jackson is suffering from a genetic disease that would require a lung transplant. But the operation would be very risky, as it is already low. He also suffers from emphysema and chronic gastrointestinal bleeding, his doctors find it difficult to treat. This bleeding is most worrying, it could kill him. He is almost blind in his left eye and has difficulty speaking. " Claims denied by the star's agent last December while Jermaine Jackson, brother of Michael, said he was not in great shape.

What show?
A concert is the corollary of an album. But Michael Jackson has not released a new album since "Invincible 'in 2001, and his last world tour in 1997. Imagine that the singer will have no choice but to draw on its past glories. Not enough to hold an audience spellbound wilts over the judicial scandals of the star. Unless Michael Jackson innovating by offering new titles: he is apparently now to save hundreds he intends to bequeath a legacy to his children. One way to fake his own death presage a touch funereal atmosphere.

Other Odd Things / Article 2009 report using double
« on: May 07, 2010, 04:04:11 AM »
Good news for all Michael Jackson fans: although “This Is It” will be the King of Pop’s final “curtain call” as he himself announced, it may expand to more locations than just London’s O2 Arena, sources are saying. The 50 dates in London might be just a fraction of a three-year “master plan” that Michael has devised, with the US coming next, Kenny Ortega of the VegasDeluxe says.

When the singer announced the initial 10 dates of the “This Is It” tour, which kicks off this summer, speculation had it that he was only going to perform in the UK because his fanbase in Europe was much stronger than that in the US.

This is not to say that there are no MJ fans back in his home country, though, but just that he has more chances of success if he makes his comeback elsewhere. Now, Ortega shares, all signs are pointing to London being just a “warm up,” with the US coming up next, perhaps in the summer of 2010.

“It’s highly possible that Michael Jackson’s new 50-concert run in London is part of a three-year master plan that could net the King of Pop a staggering $500 million! […] There’s a solid rumor that when Michael’s first England run ends in September and resumes again there in January that he may well do a series of US concerts. Although AEG wants him to appear in Las Vegas, it’s more likely it will be in New York or L.A. where there are arenas with 15,000 to 20,000 seats. ‘The London ticket sales were really a testing of the waters,’ one source told me. ‘There’s no question that Michael and AEG are discussing a world tour now’.” Ortega writes.

Even if this turns out to be just wishful-thinking, Michael Jackson fans (those who have been quick enough to get their hands on a ticket, that is) will still have a blast at the UK series of performances. Reports in the industry claim that the singer is going the extra mile – and then some – to make sure that his shows top anything else the music industry has ever seen. This also includes illusions in the manner of reputed magician Criss Angel, which would have Michael float above the stage and then land on a specific spot, the aforementioned source reveals.

Other surprises would include, according to reports, many look-alikes that would dance and provide the wow factor, while also acting as diversions in case Michael grows tired. “A small army of Michael Jackson look-alike dancers might be recruited as a backup troupe to handle the more challenging routines so the 50-year-old singer won’t be strained during the nightly 100-minute production, his first since 1997.” Ortega adds. For more on what insiders have to say of Michael’s much-mediated comeback, including of his upcoming album, go here.
