Michael Jackson was buried in full make-up and wearing an outfit inspired by all the costumes the King of Pop wore during his career.

On the one-year anniversary of his death, the pop superstar's longtime costume and wardrobe designers were commissioned to create a final image for the dead superstar so he could go to the grave looking his best.

Dennis Tompkins, Michael Bush and Karen Faye teamed up as they had for 25 years to perfect Jackson's last look - the items he'd be buried in at Forest Lawn Cemetery.

In a TV documentary, which will air in America on Friday night, June 25, Faye says, "It was an honor... I knew how he wanted to look, so I did it for his family and his children."

Meanwhile, Jackson's longtime stylists Dennis Tompkins and Michael Bush spent nine hours creating the clothes for Jackson's funeral. Tompkins also designed a crown which was placed on the King of Pop's casket.

He recalls, "When the casket was brought in at Forest Lawn, Prince, Paris and Blanket lifted it (crown) and put it on the center." And Bush has confirmed the tragic singer's famous white sequined glove was not buried with Jackson: "To Michael, the glove was 'Billie Jean'. That represented that song. That's not Michael Jackson."

:?  :?

MICHAEL Jackson's children relaxed at the beach yesterday — the day before the first anniversary of their superstar dad's death.

Prince Michael, 13, Paris, 12, and eight-year-old Blanket went to Hawaii but will spend today at the Jackson's family home to mark 12 months since their popstar father died.
Yesterday Prince Michael and Blanket splashed around in the sea but older sister Paris appeared more solemn when she was spotted near the family's holiday apartment.

The kids and their grandmother Katherine Jackson, who takes care of the youngsters, will spend the anniversary in the family's hometown of Gary, Indiana.

Katherine is set to unveil a monument outside the humble home where he grew up.

A memorial and candlelight vigil will follow, ending with the song "We Are The World".

The three children have prepared letters to privately read, expressing their love for their dad.

Jackson died aged 50 a year ago after he took a cocktail of drugs at his Los Angeles home.

Today fans around the world lit candles to mark his death.

Fans in Hanoi, Vietnam, held a night of performances of Jackson's songs.

While 50 Japanese admirers — one for each year of his life — were picked from 10,000 people to spend a night at Tokyo Tower among the singer's possessions in the Neverland Collection, the only official Michael Jackson exhibition.

We will likely never know what happened during Michael Jackson's final moments.

On the eve of what he hoped would be a triumphant return to the world stage that would re-establish him as the pre-eminent pop star of the modern era, Jackson died, seemingly alone, in a rented home in Los Angeles after a fitful night during which his private physician, Dr. Conrad Murray, supplied him with a series of medications aimed at helping the 50-year-old King of Pop get some much-needed rest.

After a nearly yearlong investigation, in February, Murray was charged with manslaughter in the case, in which prosecutors claim that the Dallas-based cardiologist supplied a deadly cocktail of sedatives — including the surgical anesthetic propofol — that stopped Jackson's heart.

As the one-year anniversary of Jackson's death on Friday approaches, we're taking a look at the case against Murray and how the prosecution has progressed since last summer.

Murray was hired by This Is It concert promoter AEG Live to be Jackson's personal physician at a cost of $150,000 a month during the lead-up to the singer's London concerts. Before that fateful night, Murray told police that he had attempted to wean Jackson off propofol by giving him a combination of anti-anxiety drugs and sedatives.

And then the unthinkable happened.

In the days and hours after news first broke that Jackson was rushed to a Los Angeles hospital in critical condition — we later learned he was essentially dead before he was transported — the world waited to hear what caused the singer's demise. When the frantic 911 call was released a day after his death, we learned that the caller said Jackson was not conscious and not breathing, even as police were seeking out Murray to question him in the case.

Due to the confusion surrounding the circumstances of his death, on June 26, the cause of death was deferred, and officials said autopsy results would take several weeks, even as police met with Murray to reconstruct Jackson's final, fitful hours.

Two days later, Murray claimed that Jackson had a faint pulse when he found him, offering up the first timeline of what happened before the singer died. In one of the first in a series of serious questions raised about his son's death, Jackson's father, Joseph, went on record as saying he had "a lot of concerns" about Michael's health, suggesting that something nefarious might have been afoot, a claim sister LaToya would reiterate a short time later.

As the investigation went on for several days, police removed more medical evidence from the rented estate, and we learned from a former nurse that Jackson — who had sought treatment for a prescription-drug dependency in 1993 — had requested propofol in the past to deal with his chronic insomnia.

By July 2, the Drug Enforcement Administration had joined the investigation as details about the singer's alleged addiction to prescription medication began to emerge, including tales of aliases and alleged doctor shopping that led investigators to serve search warrants on five physicians in early July.

At that point, Murray's lawyer was denying that his client, not a suspect in the case at the time, had administered any powerful painkillers such as Demerol or OxyContin to Jackson. In late July, federal authorities served a search warrant for Murray's Houston offices, looking for medical records as part of a manslaughter investigation focusing on the cardiologist. They also visited his Las Vegas home and medical offices a week later in search of medical records and evidence that Jackson used aliases to obtain prescription meds from other doctors. A pharmacy in Las Vegas was also raided in August as part of the investigation in search of evidence that Murray may have purchased propofol there.

It was also reported around that time that Murray told investigators that he had provided propofol to Jackson and that the autopsy results would be placed on security hold while the police investigation continued.

On August 18, Murray released a video statement in which he thanked supporters for their prayers but did not address the investigation or Jackson's death. "I have done all that I could," he said. "I told the truth." A week later, a police source said investigators had ruled Jackson's death a homicide, and leaked court documents showed he had lethal levels of propofol in his system when he died.

In early January, after six months, the LAPD completed their death investigation, and Murray was charged with involuntary manslaughter February 8, pleading not guilty to the charges. Over the following month, it would be alleged that Murray stopped CPR to hide evidence from investigators and that Jackson's heart was still beating when he arrived at the emergency room.

Murray was able to keep his California medical license amid the harsh glare of the case, surviving another attempt to have it stripped June 14.

And, as the one-year anniversary of Jackson's death loomed, in papers filed as a precursor to a possible civil suit against Murray by Joseph Jackson, it emerged that Murray, 57, had ordered a heart-resuscitation machine and requested that AEG Live provide a nurse with medical training for him as part of his care of the singer. Murray remains free on $75,000 bail, and his lawyer has maintained that the doctor did not administer anything to Jackson that "should have" killed him. The doctor continues to operate clinics and see patients in Texas and Nevada but has been ordered not to use anesthetics on those patients.

With the likelihood of a plea deal remote, Murray's lawyers are expected to put up a vigorous defense, according to a recent CBS News report, especially since a felony conviction would disqualify the doctor from ever practicing medicine again.

A legal expert said the defense is likely to argue that while it is uncommon for a physician to prescribe or administer propofol outside of a hospital setting, it is not negligent, per se, to administer it in the small doses that Murray has admitted giving to Jackson. Murray's ignorance of Jackson's complicated medical and pharmaceutical history and allegations of "doctor shopping" will also likely play a part in the defense.

The prosecution went for the "low-hanging fruit" by charging Murray with involuntary manslaughter as opposed to second-degree murder. The assumption appears to be that it will be easier to prove that the doctor caused Jackson's death not with malice or forethought, but through the negligent way he administered drugs to the singer and without regard to his patient's long history with strong pharmaceuticals.

The preliminary hearing in the Jackson case is set for August 23. Murray faces up to four years in prison if convicted.

MTV will be remembering the life and music of Michael Jackson all weekend. Don't miss the one-hour special "Michael Jackson's Influence on Music," airing Friday at 6:30 p.m. on MTV.

TMZ has obtained a copy of a legal document that Joe Jackson has sent to Dr. Conrad Murray -- a prerequisite to filing a wrongful death lawsuit ... in which Joe claims Dr. Murray had been drinking at a strip club hours before he allegedly administered a fatalAccording to the document, "On June 25, 2009, prior to treating Michael Jackson, defendant was at a 'strip club' called 'Sam's Hofbrau' in Los Angeles where he had been 'drinking.'"  The doc goes on:  "It was reckless for him to 'drink' prior to administering anesthesia to Michael Jackson.  He concealed his conduct from Michael Jackson."

The doc, written by attorney Brian Oxman, outlines Murray's treatment and the medical emergency that ended in Michael Jackson's death.

According to the document, Michael had "neurological, pulmonary, and anemia signs over several weeks prior to his death.  In May and June, 2009, Michael Jackson was confused, easily frightened, unable to remember, obsessive, and disoriented."  Oxman goes on:  "He had impaired memory, loss of appetite, and absence of energy.  He was cold and shivering during the summer rehearsals for his show ..."

Oxman claims these problems were caused by Dr. Murray administering a "polypharmacy" of drugs (multiple meds) to Michael.  And Oxman claims, Dr. Murray "ignored the signs of Michael Jackson's pulmonary inflammation, brain swelling, and anemia."

Oxman alleges Murray repeatedly lied about the drugs he administered to Jackson and withheld vital information from EMTs and doctors who were trying to save Jackson's life.  He repeated all of the alleged inconsistencies that have been previously reported.

Oxman says of Dr. Murray, "His conduct was inhuman.  It was an extreme violation of the standard of care."

We're told Dr. Murray received a copy of the document in March.  Dr. Murray's legal team tells TMZ, "The allegations are absolute, utter nonsense."

And people close to Dr. Murray insist he does not drink ... ever.

We're told the document was served on Dr. Murray on March 27, 2010.  According to California law, Joe Jackson must wait 90 days from the date the document is delivered before filing an actual wrongful death lawsuit.  The 90-day period is up Friday, the anniversary of Michael's death.

Michael Jackson News / Michael Jackson's kids have no friends
« on: June 21, 2010, 08:20:10 AM »
Los Angeles, CA, United States (AHN) - Michael Jackson's kids have no friends. Katherine Jackson revealed that her grandchildren still idolize their King of Pop father even after almost a year of his death.

Katherine revealed to Mirror.co.uk that Michael's three children – 13-year-old Prince, 12-year-old Paris, and 8-year-old Blanket – all spend hours listening to their dad's hits.

Paris even turned her bedroom into a shrine for "daddy."

Their grandma said, "I wanted to hang pictures of flowers or ballerinas in Paris ' room, the sort of things I expected a girl would like."

"But she went into a closet and she brought out seven or eight pictures of Michael, and she told me, 'No, I want daddy hanging in my room.' So she goes to bed looking at him and wakes up looking at him. She said, 'I always want to be able to see him.'"

Katherine also said that Michael's only daughter is very artistic, saying, " Paris has that lovely way, just like him, and I see his talent in her. Whatever she does, she is very good at it. She's a good artist, she plays the piano and she wants to be an actress."

As for Michael's two boys, she said that Prince wants to be a cameraman or a film producer, while Blanket is as playful as his father was. They also talk about wanting to make their dad proud.

Their grandma, who has been appointed their legal guardian, added that they "don't have any friends" as they only have private lessons at home, but all that will change in September when they are due to enroll at a private college.

Bodyguard who watched Michael Jackson die reveals his anguish

The bodyguard who watched helplessly as Jacko's life ebbed away suffers sleepless nights as he struggles to cope with what he saw.

Devastated Alberto Alvarez, who took control and dialled 911 for an ambulance, says he cannot stop thinking whether he could have done anything to save the singer.

Alberto, 34, will be star witness in the trial of Dr Murray, alleged to have halted resuscitation attempts while he hid the anaesthetic claimed to have killed Jackson.

He told the Sunday Mirror: "I've had sleepless nights. I play over in my mind what I could have done differently - I feel terrible about what happened."

The bodyguard added: "I want justice for Mr Jackson and will do whatever it takes. When I tell my story, it will be in a court of law."

Michael Jackson News / Joe Jackson Blames AEG for Michael's Death
« on: June 18, 2010, 04:04:57 PM »
Dr. Conrad Murray had requested lifesaving equipment and back-up help for Michael Jackson from the promoter of the London concerts -- AEG -- but the company never came through, according to a new complaint filed by Joe Jackson.

TMZ broke the story -- Joe was gunning for AEG by filing complaints with the California Medical Board and another agency, alleging the concert promoter abused Jackson in a way that led to his death -- and he's just filed with the Medical Board.

Joe claims days before Jackson's death Murray had requested a heart resuscitation machine and a nurse in several e-mails making the request, but AEG never provided it.

According to the complaint, Joe is accusing AEG of co-opting Murray's medical judgment by enticing him with a huge salary -- in effect engaging in the "unlawful practice of corporate medicine."

Besides the CPR machine, Murray also asked for saline, catheters, needles and a gurney.
