Michael Jackson News / Randy Quaid debuts bizarre 'Star Whackers' song
« on: March 21, 2011, 11:01:46 PM »
By: Robert Collins, ctvbc.ca

Date: Saturday Mar. 19, 2011 12:58 PM PT

Let's not forget that when it comes to the latest wave of celebrity lunacy, Randy Quaid's paranoid exit from the United States set the trendsetting benchmark that Charlie Sheen and Colonel Gaddafi have shamelessly tried to follow ever since.

With the film work obviously drying up, Quaid's new venture is music. And for roughly six minutes Vancouver and The Commodore Ballroom became centre of the gossip world as the ‘Secret Guest' at The Town Pants' St Patrick's Weekend show strode on stage with his band, The Fugitives (stop, or my sides may literally split) and delivered his message of conspiracy theory gibberish through the ever-popular medium of song.

At first, it all seemed rather normal. Dressed in black and illuminated by a single overhead spotlight that made him resemble the equally tubby Colonel Kurtz from Apocalypse Now, Quaid introduced himself and his band, calmly explained that he and his wife had been through some trying times recently and started to sing. And strangely enough, it wasn't bad at all, as Quaid crooned his way through the type of torch song Johnny Cash embraced in his final years in a rich, melancholy baritone. Everyone was too shocked to register what the song was actually called, but the whole thing was so soft, restrained and sensitive, we all started wondering if Quaid was as crazy as he reputation had led us to believe.

As the final chord chimed, the stage lights came on and Quaid and The Fugitives launched into the future classic, Star Whackers.

Words are so ineffective compared to the videos that are now available on YouTube. Let's simply say that on the Rebecca Black Friday-o-meter of pop awfulness, this barked, tuneless, allegedly comic blast of c-list celebrity ranting scores an extremely healthy 9.3.

Quaid finished the song flat on his back, the victim of a musical assassination. And with that, the performance was over. Memorable only for its brevity and bizarreness, it'll certainly be one to tell the kids about. When they've been particularly badly behaved.

It turns out that there were actual musicians here that people had paid to see. The Town Pants are a Vancouver institution. They deliver beer-drinking music par excellence, Irish folkpunk, motored along by a persistent kick drum thump and a foxy violinist to keep the guys' attention when their energy begins to flag. All their songs are virtually identical and at their best, on high-speed blasts down Vancouver or Galway's memory lanes like The Old Landlord and The Boys of the Old Brigade, it's irresistible fun, perfect for The Commodore's springy floor.

At the Pants' finale they joyfully called the support acts on stage to join in with a rousing rendition of the folk classic, Good Night Irene. The Fugitives were all present, but Randy had left the building, the role of on-stage actor now played by Matthew Modine. Seriously. You couldn't make this up.

In an evening defined by collapsing celebrities and never-ending penny whistle solos, it would break the music writer's oath not to mention that the brightest stars of the night were the real support band, Mezamazing. This Vancouver nine-piece sound like Slipknot, had the masked maniacs grown up in a Turkish bazaar, never heard of heavy metal and chosen to arm themselves with accordions, flutes and sousaphones. At one point Mezamazing had fifty members of the crowd dancing arm in arm in a huge circle, with band and audience breaking the chain to bust dance moves in the middle. Genuinely, honestly, brilliant. They could and should be huge.

The night was never about music though. It was about oddness. And on that count at least, Randy Quaid delivered.

Here is a link to Randy Quaid's debut song about Star Whackers... his lyrics ring some truth; it reminds me of what MJ has to endure.... listen to his lyrics... interesting song.  He has been in the business for a long time I am sure he knows what is going on.

I don't think these actors are putting themselves out there for nothing.  Something underlying is happening in Hollywood and something is going to burst at some point.  The lawyers/accountants/cops/judges alot of them are dirty and I think it is time for some exposure of What is Really Going On!!! Other Odd Things / Bahrain plans to build 50,000 homes in $5.3bn drive
« on: March 08, 2011, 10:46:35 AM »
Below are two articles one published in March 2009 (before MJ's disappearance) and then another article published today March 2011... two years later.  Basically it tells the same story.  However, what caught my eye was the words in the articles 50,000/Bahrain/five-year plan/10,500 plots and so on...

My take is that MJ has been planning this since his trial in 2005 and this was one of the things on his mind that he wanted to see change with.  I bet he toured the ghettos and saw what was going on there and wanted to help.  Again, two articles which mirror each other but surfacing at different times.

Quote
Bahrain's housing minister has announced plans to build 50,000 homes at a cost of more than $5.3bn, as the government reacts to protests gripping the kingdom.

Majid al-Alawi said the decision to embark on the massive building programme was made in the light of a housing waiting list topping 46,000.

He said in comments published by the official BNA News Agency that the five-year plan would be in cooperation with the private sector and would take place in different provinces of the kingdom.

"The initial cost is estimated to be at least two billion Bahraini dinars," BNA quoted Alawi as saying, adding that he expressed "hope that this order helps to contribute to forwarding the national dialogue."

He also announced that designs for the homes would be completed within a month, adding that 2,000 units would be completed and distributed to recipients soon.

"We have enough land to accommodate housing projects for the coming three years", he said, stressing the leadership’s pledge to provide more land.

Citing updated figures, he revealed that the number of applications on the waiting list topped 46,000. The ministry plans to reduce the waiting period to a maximum five years by 2016.

Anti-government protests in Shiite-majority Bahrain, which is ruled by a Sunni dynasty, continued this week, amid a wave of pro-democracy unrest that has gripped the region for weeks and toppled autocratic regimes in Egypt and Tunisia.

Bahrain's rulers have announced various other economic and political initiatives aimed at assuaging protesters' anger.

On Saturday, the interior ministry announced a plan to recruit 20,000 employees.

On February 26, King Hamad changed five of his ministers, in a move that saw Alawi, who was formerly minister of labour, appointed to the housing portfolio.

And on February 22, the king ordered the release of Shiite political prisoners, in another bid to ignite talks to end the standoff with anti-regime protesters.

ABU DHABI // More than 50,000 homes will be built for Emiratis over the next 20 years, the Abu Dhabi Urban Planning Council (UPC) said yesterday. Tens of thousands of Emiratis have applied for government housing and the waiting list is up to five years long, so the announcement was warmly welcomed and heralds much needed relief to a housing crisis that has resulted in spectacular rent increases and forced many people to commute from cheaper areas, such as Buraimi in Oman.

About 30,000 houses will be constructed in Abu Dhabi and 20,000 in Al Ain at an initial cost of Dh25 billion (US$6.8bn) in the first three years. Both cities suffer from an acute shortage of housing, with demand estimated to exceed supply by a third, with the result being that house prices and rents have soared by as much as 80 per cent in 12 months. Falah al Ahbabi, the general manager of the UPC, said the Government currently had Dh25bn to develop infrastructure and public housing for Emiratis over the coming two to three years.

But he emphasised that the long-term budget for Emirati housing was "much greater than Dh25bn". The initial projects in Abu Dhabi include 5,000 houses in Al Falah, 10,500 plots in Shamkha South Shamkha, about 13,000 in Al Wathba and 2,000 to 3,000 in central Shamkha. In the Al Falah development, which is the furthest advanced, the houses are being built by Aldar Properties and are scheduled for completion next year.

Mr al Ahbabi said the Government was reviewing the project and would soon sign a formal deal with the developer. "People will be able to live there by the end of 2010," he said. Projects in Al Ain include more than 6,000 units to be built by Al Qudra Real Estate in Ain Al Fayda, while Tamouh, another developer, is to deliver more than 3,000 in the Jebel Hafeet area. Sorouh Real Estate will develop 2,000 to 3,000 units in Abu Dhabi.

"It is not like we are building and then the people will come," said Mr al Ahbabi. "There are already 15,000 applications right now for Emirati buildings. Emirati housing is the most important item for us right now. It is a hot topic." Emiratis yesterday welcomed the locations of the planned projects and said they would provide greater choice for those looking for accommodation. Jumaa Ahmad, a lorry driver who lives in Al Bahia, said the location of the new houses would be popular among Emiratis.

"They should build more projects in such areas, because we Emiratis are Bedouins. "We like the desert. Cities are good for businessmen and city dwellers, but we prefer to live in areas like Shamkha. "It is never too late to find homes for us, but a lot of the houses we build, we eventually rent out to expatriates and then we complain that we can't find anywhere to live." "It's a good idea," added Amal al Braiki, who works in Abu Dhabi and lives in Al Ain with her parents.

"The rent in the city of Abu Dhabi is very high, especially if you want a spacious house in good condition. "Us Emiratis like big houses, even if we don't have big families, because we always keep in mind if we have extended family staying over. We won't be happy with just a one-bedroom apartment. "Right now, the trend is that you either live with your parents or you apply for a house from the Government."

It will not be known until later whether Emiratis will be provided with free homes in the new communities or will have to pay for their properties. The UPC said that in cases where Emiratis were buying, they would be given assistance with finding a home loan. No estimate of the probable prices of the houses was available. According to the estate agency Cornerstone, demand for house purchases among Emiratis is holding up, despite the weakness in the housing market.

"The local market is doing very well," said Ziad Bushnaq, the chief executive. "We are working with Al Qudra on villas in Ain al Fayda. Around 70 per cent of what we sold in February was local." You are not allowed to view links. Register or Login

Last night was the season premiere of Celebrity Apprentice.  Donald Trump introduced some of the celebrities at the beginning of the show including Latoya.  He also mentioned Michael being a guest at the Trump Towers and so on but then he goes on to say, this season It is going to be a circus, and I am the ringmaster.

Another thing is at the end of the show, Jose Capas Jr. (baseball) walks out of the boardroom (after someone is fired) and on the back of his suit is a Crown and something next to it.  There is some also on his suit sleeve which I could not make out.  I can't access the video of last night show from here, so could someone perhaps find the video and either post it under another format or post the pictures of these symbols on his back or side of his suit.

Also, Donald never referred to Michael as the late Michael Jackson, just Michael.

Did anyone else see the opening season?

Conrad Murray's Lawyers 'Don't Have The Budget' For Lengthy Michael Jackson Trial

Lawyers representing DR. CONRAD MURRAY have urged a judge not to delay the upcoming involuntary manslaughter trial into MICHAEL JACKSON's death - because they "don't have the budget" for lengthy court proceedings.

The medic stands accused of administering the drug Propofol which killed the King of Pop in June 2009.

The case is scheduled to begin on 24 March (11), but Los Angeles Superior Court Judge Michael Pastor could push back the start date of the trial after prosecutors called for a later hearing, according to the Associated Press.

Speaking on Monday (28Feb10), he said, "I am extremely distressed about the state of this case and whether the defense is prepared for trial and its obligations to Dr. Murray."

But Murray's legal team have appealed to Judge Pastor to keep 24 March as the start date - as they are running out of cash.

Defense attorney J. Michael Flanagan pleaded, "We need to go to trial right away. We don't have the budget that would let us draw this out."

Reports suggest prosecutors are objecting to the trial start date because they are entitled to receive discovery of defense evidence 30 days before trial starts - a deadline which has already passed. The judge threatened Murray’s lawyers with hefty fines for failing to share evidence with prosecutors.

He told the attorneys for the pop icon’s personal physician that he would impose the fines or other sanctions on Wednesday (02Mar11) unless they met their legal obligation to turn over witness statements and expert reports to prosecutors.

Meanwhile, the judge has ordered Deputy District Attorney David Walgren to turn over digital photos from Jackson's autopsy as well as all of the surveillance tapes recorded at his home on the day he died.

A budget?  WTH - so when does a lawyer outwardly admit there is a 'budget' surrounding his client's case, this is just absurd.  Any retainer agreement or otherwise, is between the lawyer and client and not for public consumption.  If Murray can't afford his lawyer get another one lol.....

Others / Connection between MJ and Randy Quaid
« on: January 02, 2011, 11:53:14 AM »
I was doing some research and reading up on Randy Quaid and about his theories about what was happening to him, so I decided to do a little research and found this interesting link of individuals that are linked between him and Michael.  It seems Randy and Michael had some of the same players in their life at some time.  I believe Joel Katz is still the family attorney.  I feel like Randy is trying to tell us something.  Why would he be high tailing it to Canada if he was successful in California?  Something is so wrong here and I believe Hollywood needs a shake up (the players behind the scenes - like the bankers, the accountants, etc.)

Here is the blogspot from which I found the information.

Very strange, normally it will pick up all the songs on the CD.

Michael Jackson News / MGM Files for Bankruptcy

November 3, 2010 |  8:53 am
Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer, Hollywood's fabled and once most powerful studio, has filed for bankruptcy protection after it could no longer pay down its crippling debt or make and release new movies.

The filing, made Wednesday morning, comes after MGM's leading creditors struck a deal with corporate raider Carl Icahn, who had amassed about 15% of the company's debt and was previously pushing for a merger between MGM and Lions Gate.

Instead, Icahn agreed to support a plan under which the chief executives of film production and finance company Spyglass Entertainment will run MGM once it exits Chapter 11, which could occur in as soon as one month.

Under the pre-packaged bankruptcy plan, MGM's $4 billion worth of debt, upon which it could no longer afford to pay interest, will be converted into more than 99% of the equity in the studio, which is valued at $1.9 billion. Spyglass principals Gary Barber and Roger Birnbaum will become co-chief executives and co-chairmen, running a slimmed-down MGM with significantly less overhead and start producing new movies, including a James Bond sequel and two films based on "The Hobbit" that will be co-financed with Warner Bros.

Under an agreement reached Tuesday night, Icahn has agreed to change his "no" vote on the Spyglass plan cast last Friday to a "yes" and also to not challenge the plan in bankruptcy court -- a possibility that some people close to MGM had feared could delay the reorganization process.

In exchange, the company's leading creditors agreed to make certain changes to the plan. Most notably, 15 titles from Spyglass' library will no longer be merged into MGM in exchange for a 5% stake in the studio once it exits bankruptcy. Spyglass' co-chief executives Barber and Birnbaum will instead get a very small stake of just 0.5%, said by people familiar with the deal, in exchange for bringing certain projects to MGM that they had in development at their company.

Icahn had opposed the merger with the Spyglass library titles, which included "The Sixth Sense" and "Seabiscuit," because he believed it overvalued the films.

In addition, Icahn will be allowed to appoint one person to MGM's nine-person board of directors. A likely possibility is his son Brett, who has played a key role in his father's dealings with the studio and with Lions Gate. Barber and Birnbaum will also get seats on the board.

Upon exiting bankruptcy, the creditors have also agreed to negotiate in good faith with Lions Gate about a potential merger. However, the talks will not be exclusive, meaning other parties can propose a merger or acquisition as well. The creditors previously rejected a proposal by Lions Gate that would give them 55% of the equity in a combined studio.

It has taken MGM creditors more than a year to agree on a reorganization plan that would see the 86-year-old studio remain as a stand-alone operation. They also solicited acquisition offers but none, including a $1.5 billion bid by Time Warner Inc., satisfied the creditors.

Once MGM exits bankruptcy, Barber and Birnbaum will face formidable challenges in rebuilding MGM, which has lost much of its luster since it was acquired by a consortium of investors including Sony Corp. in 2004 for nearly $5 billion. The studio's primary asset, its library of about 4,000 titles, now generates significantly less cash flow due to the fading DVD market.

In addition, the company's financial woes have meant it was barely able to produce or distribute any films for the past year under motion picture Chairwoman Mary Parent, who recently exited. Its only release in the past year was the comedy "Hot Tub Time Machine," which was a box-office disappointment. MGM has two unreleased films in the wings: A remake of the Cold War thriller "Red Dawn" and the horror thriller "The Cabin in the Woods." Another movie, the comedy "Zookeeper" starring Kevin James, will be released by Sony Pictures next summer.

Barber and Birnbaum will be looking to raise $500 million once MGM exits bankruptcy in order to fund operations and the production of new films and television shows.

Hoax Videos / Video Interview by Katherine - Never Can Say Goodbye
« on: October 28, 2010, 11:14:04 AM »
I ordered the Book and Video of Katherine's interview (Never Can Say Goodbye) and received it yesterday. I watched it once and looked through the book...beautiful pictures. There wasn't much text to the book, just alot of pictures. Couple of things that caught my eye briefly is at the beginning of the video it is produced by BIG VISION ENTERTAINMENT.

The person interviewing her asks her the same question twice (regarding how the children are doing). She answers it pretty much the same. One thing that caught my eye was the Orchids in the background. I know MJ liked Orchids. The orchids were in some of the scenes in the Jackson Dynasty A&E Series. One thing that stuck out was she was recounting a story about her children, in particular, Janet bought her present and it was a red Rolls Royce. She went on talking about it .... and then mentioned something about the "yellow brick road" in her statement. In another part of the video, they present MJ the keys to Las Vegas and show his 45th birthday celebration... I am not sure why they choose to elect to have these with Katherine's interview...something to think about though.  She also took the opportunity to thank the fans for all our support.

There were a few other I guess you could call "hoax" related words that were mentioned during her interview. I was too tired last night to really absorb it all, but will go through it again and try and relay what she said word for word.

Other Odd Things / Where was MJ Really Living During This is It??
« on: October 22, 2010, 12:31:07 PM »
I have come across a fan video which shows Michael's car leaving a bookstore and it shows a NEVADA licence plate.  He was in Hollywood CA when that car left the bookstore.   I won't post the video as it shows the whole licence plate number.  I can send the link privately if you want to see it.

So where was his principle residence - LA or Vegas??  Most people register their vehicles in the state they are living in....at least here in Canada they do and have only a certain amount of time to transfer the plates when they move.  Is that the case the US as well?

I am skeptical about how long MJ was in that house on Carolwood and where exactly he was living.  I remember a long time ago (last year) that he had rented the house for a whole year (from Dec. 08 to Dec. 09) - so why would you rent a house for a whole year when you know you are going to be going to London for shows in the middle of that year??

Also it is interesting that the house was available for rent (at that time) which was located right across from one of Elvis' previous homes.

In my opinion, I don't think MJ was always at that residence.  It was a staging ground for what was to come (ie. his "death", etc.).

Michael Jackson auditorium unveiling 'disappointing,' abuse survivors' group says

Restoration of pop singer Michael Jackson's name over a Los Angeles school auditorium is a "slap in the face" to children who've been subjected to pedophilia, said a spokesman for Survivors Network of those Abused by Priests.

Sandra Poindexter, Ben Welsh Los Angeles TimesThe Los Angeles Unified School District's decision to uncover Jackson's name after it had been boarded over for seven years didn't take into account the "cultural perception" that Jackson had issues with kids, said Joelle Casteix, a SNAP spokeswoman.

"It's grossly disappointing," Casteix said Monday. "Although he was never convicted there was a huge secret settlement with at least one alleged victim,'' she said, referring to a 1993 civil lawsuit alleging child abuse that ended with a closed-door payout.

"With all the brave and courageous people LAUSD could honor, it's a shame they chose to honor him again," she added.

District officials on Friday uncovered Jackson's name at Gardner Street Elementary School, saying the deceased entertainer had been acquitted of separate criminal charges alleging child abuse in 2005. Fans had petitioned the district to uncover Jackson's name.

School officials said they had no problem with the decision.
"No one is upset,'' said PTA President Marielena Armagnac. "All of the kids love his music."

Jackson briefly attended Gardner in 1969 as an 11-year-old on the brink of superstardom. He attended the auditorium's dedication in his name in 1989.

Perhaps Joelle Casteix, a SNAP spokeswoman should be more informed or perhaps we should write her to ensure that she knows the truth and that Michael was innocent.   Unbelievable that after all this time, people are still judging him and thinks he is guilty anyway.  GRRRRRRR
