Did you know that MJDHI celebrated its 15th anniversary this year? Does that make you feel old? It makes me feel old! I was 27 still when Michael 'died', I turned 43 this year.

Where are all the death hoax OG's? Do you still believe Michael is Alive? Come log in to say "Hi" or even "Bye"!

Who remembers the MJKIT forum or even good old MJHD with all its drama?? Both of these forums are still archived here on the site!

Unfortunately the forum is quiet these days, many people have moved on from it. It's why I decided to make a Reddit Community and an X Community for those who just simply don't use forums anymore (that's sooooo Gen X!)

I do hope we can get it more active again, either on here (forums are still my favorite) or on any of the other platforms! See what we missed, see what we can figure out now with the knowledge and technology we have today.

So Trump posted this image on Truth and IG (maybe more, haven't checked). This is right up your alley @SimPattyK !

What do we make of this? Some suggestions:

- He's saying Elvis is alive (still)?
- He is hinting that there are certain celebrities working for government agencies, like Elvis did
- Or he is hinting to all of the above in relation to Michael Jackson since he posted it on December 2nd, which is anniversary of the Thriller short film on MTV (December 2, 1983).

Or maybe he just likes Elvis.

Thoughts?

I think X might be a good place for an extra community. I use it a lot myself for all kinds of things and some people just like the convenience of the app over a forum. When something really interesting is posted there or on Reddit I will copy it to the forum anyway.

Here's the link: https://x.com/i/communities/1851564782555410483

Michael Jackson
Purported Sketches to Be Auctioned Off
... Estate Skeptical
7/23/2024 10:53 AM PT

Michael Jackson's Sketches For Sale
Getty/Kings Auctions/TMZ Composite

update

4:28 PM PT -- Turns out, Michael Jackson's estate doesn't think these drawings being attributed to MJ are the real McCoy -- in fact, they say they have reason to believe otherwise.

A rep for the estate tells us they do not accept these sketches as authentic -- noting they examined the artwork years ago and upon further inspection, felt even more dubious. They say they've relayed this to the auction house since then, and insist they haven't gotten any evidence that, to them, would suggest these drawings were done by the late icon.

Michael Jackson may be best known for his legendary singing career, but he was also quite the sketch artist ... and his signed drawings are about to be available for purchase.

The singer's rare collection -- which is made up of 78 sketch drawings of various images, including the likes of Marilyn Monroe, Queen Elizabeth II, Peter Pan, Andy Warhol, etc. -- will be auctioned off by Kings Auctions Beverly Hills partnered with Kings Auctions Las Vegas on August 3. The location has yet to be disclosed.

Michael Jackson -- Through the Years

The auction will reportedly first welcome bids for the entire collection ... though, a $1 million opening offer is required or the auction will move to selling the pieces separately.

Kings Auction tells TMZ ... they came into possession of the artwork via recent court proceedings. Prior to their acquisition, the pieces of art were stored at a private art space in Santa Monica, Calif. -- where MJ often visited to work while recovering from plastic surgery procedures.

We're told Michael's signature on the drawings has been authenticated by Roger Epperson -- who also confirmed the sketches were not prints.

This isn't the first time MJ's personal belongings have been auctioned off. Remember, years after Michael's death in 2009, his possessions from his last residence in Los Angeles -- including furniture, paintings, and antiques -- were sold off.

In fact, Kim Kardashian has purchased a number of the late King of Pop's belongings. She notably bought MJ's velvet jacket and white fedora hat ... which she gifted to daughter North West.

Anything for a little piece of music history, right???

Michael Jackson's Classic Reaches A New Peak–For The Second Time In A Month

Throughout October, Michael Jackson returns to charts in many nations with "Thriller." That single has become forever associated with Halloween, and it becomes a smash all over again. This year, another tune from the late star also managed a comeback, one that happened alongside "Thriller" and is still happening.

"Billie Jean" became a global hit again this fall, as fans returned to the tune. In the United Kingdom, the song is only present on one list at the moment, and it's not just rising, but climbing to what appears to be a never-before-seen high.

Jackson's fan favorite improves just one space on the Official Streaming chart, the U.K.'s ranking of the most-streamed tracks in the nation. "Billie Jean" steps up from No. 86 to No. 85, and in doing so, it looks like it sits higher than ever before on the list that only focuses on consumption on platforms like Spotify, Apple Music, and their competitors.

It may be decades old, but this week isn't even the first time that "Billie Jean" reaches a new peak on the streaming chart this year. Jackson's track reappeared on the Official Streaming chart at No. 86, which stood as a new high (until now), earlier this month

"Billie Jean" was released in early 1983 as a single from Jackson's Thriller album, which had dropped just a few months prior. The track, which describes a man denying that a newborn is his via an affair, was selected as the second official promotional tune from the blockbuster, following "The Girl is Mine," and it would soon be followed by many other smashes that have stood the test of time.

During its initial chart run, "Billie Jean" hit No. 1 in the U.K., adding to Jackson's career collection of leaders. The song won him a pair of Grammys, and the album it's featured on also swept the awards that year.

It's interesting that "Billie Jean" is on the rise, as Jackson's only other charting hit in the U.K. at the moment is on the decline. "Thriller" surged around Halloween, as it's played non-stop in the lead-up to the holiday. Now that it's passed, that creepy cut is falling on three of the four lists it appears on at present, with sales of the smash dropping off, as was expected.

"Thriller" does manage to climb on the same chart as "Billie Jean," which shows that fans in the U.K. are consistently streaming Jackson and his biggest hits. That smash lifts from No. 100 to No. 96 on the Official Streaming ranking this week.

Michael Jackson said Donny Osmond was only other person who understood his childhood
The Osmonds star said he and Jackson would reunite to "laugh and reminisce" about the comparisons made between both of their respective careers.

By Emlyn Travis
Published on November 15, 2024 05:33PM EST

Donny Osmond is looking back at his friendship with Michael Jackson.

The entertainer, who grew up in the popular family band the Osmonds, reflected on the frequent comparisons between his upbringing and Jackson's as a member of the Jackson 5 as part of the recent MTV Entertainment Studios documentary, Larger than Life: Reign of the Boybands.

"I spent a lot of time with Michael Jackson. I mean, you look at the Osmonds and the Jackson 5, the comparisons of the two families are just uncanny," Osmond explained. "There's nine children in each family. Mike and I are both the seventh child of nine. Our mothers' birthdays are on the same day. Michael and I are the same age."

The similarities didn't stop there. Both Osmond and Jackson, who died at age 50 in 2009, rose to popularity at a young age as part of their respective family bands, before eventually going off to start their own successful solo careers. In fact, the "One Bad Apple" singer said that he and Jackson would often reunite to "laugh and reminisce" about their similar childhoods and career comparisons.

"Michael said something to me one day," he recalled. "He said, 'Donny, you're the only person on this planet that knows what my childhood was like.'"

In addition to their walks down memory lane together, Osmond noted that Jackson would also often tell him stories about his father Joe Jackson. He added, "You look at the dangers of show business in general, whether you're a single artist or a boyband, I don't know if I could have been able to survive show business if I didn't have my family."

Osmond also revealed that his own father, George Osmond, similarly made sure that all of his children understood the importance of having an incredibly strong work ethic.

"I remember as a tiny little kid, my brothers in front of that piano playing and learning the parts and harmonizing to where it was perfect," he said. "My dad was an army sergeant and so that kind of infiltrated how he raised us. I never wanted to disappoint my father."

Even at the height of their fame in the 1970s, the Osmonds weren't allowed to slack off. "When we hit big, my father said, 'Back in the rehearsal hall. Learn a new number. Keep this engine going,''" he said. "I think having a very strong father figure was very important for our success, however it can go a little overboard."

I opened a Prince hoax forum after his death which started out pretty busy. I have discussed it on the lives a few times and had promised Mr. Purple Dots to see if I could still upload it. There is a lot of similarities with Michael's hoax so interesting to go through and maybe add some information we figured out later.

Here it is: https://pdhi.michaeljacksonhoaxforum.com/index.php

I also have an Elvis hoax forum, albeit a bit empty, I listed that in a separate thread!

I opened an Elvis hoax forum once to gather info on that hoax since there were so many similarities with Michael's hoax. I think I took it offline within a year and it has been sitting on my hard drive ever since, so I decided to upgrade the software and put it back online. There may be some interesting topics, or some people might actually be interested to join it and use it, who knows!

Anywhere, here goes: https://epdhi.michaeljacksonhoaxforum.com/index.php

I also have updated the Prince one, I will list that in a separate thread!

Quincy Jones, musical maestro and entertainment industry titan, dies at 91

In a prolific career that spanned more than 70 years, Jones established himself as a behind-the-scenes force and a gifted artist in his own right.

Nov. 4, 2024, 3:11 AM EST / Updated Nov. 4, 2024, 8:15 AM EST
By Daniel Arkin

Quincy Jones, a maestro of American music and a titan of the entertainment industry who influenced nearly every popular genre, produced landmark albums and earned 80 Grammy Award nominations, died Sunday, his publicist said.

He was 91.

Jones "passed away peacefully" Sunday night at his home in the Bel Air neighborhood of Los Angeles surrounded by his family, according to his publicist, Arnold Robinson.

"Tonight, with full but broken hearts, we must share the news of our father and brother Quincy Jones' passing. And although this is an incredible loss for our family, we celebrate the great life that he lived and know there will never be another like him," Jones' family said in a statement.

In a prolific career that spanned more than 70 years, Jones established himself as a behind-the-scenes force and a gifted artist in his own right, working as an arranger, composer, songwriter and performer.

He left indelible imprints on jazz, pop, hip-hop and dozens of film and television soundtracks, collaborating with some of the most illustrious names in the American songbook, from Count Basie and Dinah Washington to Frank Sinatra, Aretha Franklin and Paul Simon.

He produced Michael Jackson's smash record "Thriller," as well as Steven Spielberg's adaptation of "The Color Purple" and the NBC sitcom "The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air" — projects that helped bolster his legacy as a hit-maker and a media mogul.

Jones received numerous awards and accolades, including recognition at the Kennedy Center Honors in 2001, a National Medal of Arts from President Barack Obama in 2010 and induction into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame in 2013. In 2021, he joined James Brown and Otis Redding as one of the first three "foundational inductees" of the Black Music & Entertainment Walk of Fame in Atlanta.

"As a master inventor of musical hybrids, he has mixed pop, soul, hip-hop, jazz, classical, African and Brazilian music into many dazzling fusions, traversing virtually every medium, including records, live performances, movies and television," Obama said in his remarks.

Jones won 28 Grammys, putting him third on the list of all-time winners. He nabbed an Emmy in 1977 for writing the theme for the first episode of the miniseries "Roots" and later received the Jean Hersholt Humanitarian Award at the Oscars in 1994.

Quincy Delight Jones Jr. was born in Chicago on March 14, 1933, the son of Quincy Delight Jones, a semiprofessional baseball player and carpenter, and Sarah Frances, a bank officer and apartment complex manager.

Jones was first exposed to music by his mother, who sang religious songs. She later suffered a schizophrenic breakdown; Jones' parents eventually divorced, and his father remarried.

In the early 1940s, Jones and his family relocated to Bremerton, Washington, where he studied the trumpet and worked with a fledgling pianist/singer by the name of Ray Charles, who was said to have helped persuade Jones to pursue his interest in the musical arts.

Jones studied briefly at the eminent Schillinger House (now known as the Berklee College of Music) in Boston in the 1950s. He then started touring with the jazz great Lionel Hampton as a trumpeter and arranger.

In time, he earned a reputation as a skilled freelance arranger. He worked with Basie, Washington, Cannonball Adderley, Clifford Brown, Gigi Gryce (later known as Basheer Qusim), Oscar Pettiford and a host of other jazz luminaries.

He toured with Dizzy Gillespie's big band in 1956, traveling across the Middle East and South America, and recorded his first album as a bandleader the same year.

He worked for a spell at the Barclay record label in Paris and then led an all-star big band for the European run of Harold Arlen's "blues opera" in two acts, "Free and Easy."

Jones returned to the U.S. in 1961, becoming an artists-and-repertoire director for Mercury Records. Three years later, he was elevated to a vice president position there, making him one of the first Black Americans with an executive-level position at a major U.S. record company.

In the 1960s, Jones arranged and produced albums while also establishing himself as a go-to composer of film scores, first with the soundtrack for Sidney Lumet's "The Pawnbroker" and later for Norman Jewison's "In the Heat of the Night" and Richard Brooks' "In Cold Blood."

He went on to create sleek, stylish scores for the original version of "The Italian Job" (1969), the satirical dramedy "Bob & Carol & Ted & Alice," the Steve McQueen thriller "The Getaway" and the Robert Redford caper "The Hot Rock."

Jones' next stop was the A&M record label, where he worked from 1969 to 1981, taking a brief hiatus as he rebounded from a brain aneurysm in 1974.

Jones' medical condition was believed to be so dire that his friends and family began preparing for his death. He eventually attended his own memorial service alongside comedian Richard Pryor, actor Sidney Poitier and singer Marvin Gaye.

In 1975, Jones founded his own record label, Qwest Productions, signing artists like Patti Austin and the British group New Order. Three years later, he produced the soundtrack for Lumet's movie musical "The Wiz," a retelling of "The Wizard of Oz" starring Jackson and Diana Ross.

Jones reached a commercial zenith as the producer of a trio of Jackson records — "Off the Wall," "Thriller" and "Bad" — that each sold tens of millions of copies and electrified the pop culture landscape.

"Thriller" — with its smash-hit singles, electric blend of genres and MTV-ready aesthetics — rocketed up the sales charts. It remains one of the all-time best-selling albums, a landmark that endures despite the troubling dimensions of Jackson's personal life.

Jones was a prolific philanthropist. He helped recruit a who's who of performers — Bob Dylan, Tina Turner, Bruce Springsteen, Stevie Wonder — for "We Are the World," a 1985 charity single produced to raise money for victims of famine in Ethiopia.

In the 1980s and the 1990s, Jones branched off into other media, producing Spielberg's version of the Alice Walker novel "The Color Purple" (1985), as well as the beloved television show "The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air," starring Will Smith. He also launched the music magazine Vibe.

In his later years, Jones — by then a legendary figure in the entertainment industry and beyond — remained productive in the arts and philanthropic activities.

He published a memoir, "Q: The Autobiography of Quincy Jones," in 2001, and in 2018 he was the subject of a Netflix documentary directed by one of his daughters, the actor Rashida Jones.

On the day of Tito's death, the musician suffered a medical emergency at a New Mexico shopping center, the Gallup Police Department confirmed to PEOPLE in a press release.

Officers were notified of "an individual requiring medical attention and promptly requested an ambulance" near the American Heritage Plaza around 6:15 p.m. on Sept. 15, in Gallup, N.M.

The individual, later identified as Tito, was transported to a local hospital, where he was pronounced dead, the press release said.

Last month, Tito's sister Janet shared a sweet tribute to him on her Instagram Stories. "May you rest in eternal peace 🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽 I miss you so much! ❤️" she wrote alongside a black-and-white photo of a young Janet standing before her older brother wearing a fedora and printed shirt.

In addition to Tito and Janet, the iconic Jackson family tree includes siblings Rebbie, 74, Jackie, 73, Jermaine, 69, La Toya, 68, Marlon, 67, Brandon — who died after birth in 1957 — the late Michael and Randy, 62.

Tito was also a father to sons Taj, 51, Taryll, 49, and TJ, 46, with ex-wife Delores "Dee Dee" Martes.

Taj, TJ and Taryll, who perform in the group 3T, shared a joint post in tribute to their father after his death. "It's with heavy hearts that we announce that our beloved father, Rock & Roll Hall of Famer Tito Jackson is no longer with us. We are shocked, saddened and heartbroken," they wrote.

"Our father was an incredible man who cared about everyone and their well-being," they continued. "Some of you may know him as Tito Jackson from the legendary Jackson 5, some may know him as 'Coach Tito' or some know him as 'Poppa T.' Nevertheless, he will be missed tremendously. It will forever be 'Tito Time' for us. Please remember to do what our father always preached and that is 'Love One Another.' We love you Pops."

The group of performers and singers have produced a total of 27 US number one hits.
Alongside work in the band, Tito also had a solo career as a blues musician which started in 2003.
He was the final sibling to place a solo single on the Billboard charts with his 2016 hit, Get It Baby.
In 2019, Jackie, Tito, Jermaine and Marlon embarked on a World Tour as The Jacksons.
Two years prior they performed a slew of shows in the UK as part of A Celebration of 50 Years, also stopping to perform at Glastonbury Festival.

Quote

Oh nah lemme unfollow. I love Michael more.

Quote

You're not even a Jackson 5! Tito Marlon Jackie Jermaine and Michael!!!

Quote

I'm so disappointed but not surprised. I've loved you and your family and have always been a supporter for many many years, like many other black people. This picture makes me feel differently about you and your family now especially with the negative comments and rhetoric ya boy has been making about women, black people, and so on. I feel that you don't give a 💩 about me or people that look like me. I know you probably don't care about what I have to say. You don't know me from a bucket of paint but I will tell you this, I seen Janet in concert last year in Atlantic City. I'm making that my last time seeing her. I seen your brothers in concert at the Parx Casino in Bensalem, PA a couple years ago. That will be my last time seeing them as well. If you don't care about me, I certainly don't give a damn about you! I can't support black people that think they're better than or look down their nose to other black people! 😡

Quote

It would be the brother who lacked talent posting this

Quote

Janet was my one safe place in this world since I was a child and you took that from me and the rest of the Rhythm Nation. The Superbowl didn't tarnish her legacy, you did.

Politics / Trump Cabinet Picks

I highly doubt this is a final list but this is what is being reported and/or speculated right now. I have seen no speculation for HUD so far? I also haven't seen Ben Carson mentioned, which is odd because he was loyal to Trump. Maybe he is already picked to continue his work as HUD Secretary.

Who do we want for Press Secretary? I think Trump should just rotate between Tucker, Candace, Mark Dice, Charlie Kirk, Roseanne (that's all bull shit!) and Alex Jones. I will watch every single day!
As a serious pick I do think Charlie Kirk or Candace Owens would be great, they both worked hard to red pill the masses, and they would be great at it. Or his campaign spokesperson Karoline Leavitt. She's very young but I was impressed by her.

Politics / Joe Biden
November 12, 2024, 03:13:24 AM

Ok so we have talked about this a lot on the lives, but I want to see if we can gather some weird Biden stuff in this thread. I have said since Biden ran that he just doesn't look like Joe Biden. He looks so much different than the Joe Biden we've seen for years! Who agrees or can debunk the theory that Joe Biden has not been Joe Biden the past four years?

MJDHI Announcements / MJDHI 15 Years!
November 04, 2024, 12:14:22 AM

Michael Jackson Death Hoax Investigators celebrates its 15th anniversary in November 2024! Although I had a forum ever since July 2009, the first forum was more of a back-up forum because the original Michael Jackson Hoax Death forum was having issues back then. But in November of 2009 this dorum moved to ihts own server and database and you are still looking at it today, 15 years later!

I have updated everything again, the forum ran on an older version of SMF and is now all up to date. It seemed to have fixed some issues that the forum has had since 2011 when I converted it from the old database, for me it's running smooth. If you have issues, please let me know on what device you are logged in, which theme you are using and what the problem is exactly so I can look into it.

There is now multiple themes to pick for yourself (MJDHI dark/light, MJDHI2.0 dark/light and MJDHI Mobile for phones specifcally or people with a slow internet connection. The theme can be changed on the portal (Forum Home on top of the vertical menu) just under your user info so it's up to you to see what you like best.

On the portal there is also now a block with 'Random Topics'. This will be useful because it will show completely random topics every time you refresh, so it might give us new insights and ideas, now 15 years later.

The chatbox is still there, and I hope that we can start using the forum some more instead of putting interesting information in Telegram where we can never find it again. Whenever a new topic/post is posted here on the forum, there will be a notification in Telegram.

I'll discuss it some more in the next live, and I will start using the forum more myself as well, and I hope we can go back to old fashioned hoax investigation! If there is anyone with ideas or suggestions, let me know!

Below a reminder with our socials, archived forums and chats!

Michael Jackson's 'Smooth Criminal' Joins YouTube Billion Views Club
Gil Kaufman
Wed, October 30, 2024 at 12:46 PM EDT2 min read

Michael Jackson is in rarified air when it comes to billion-view music videos on YouTube. This week, the late King of Pop notched his fifth visual to cross that mark when the gangster-themed clip for his 1988 single "Smooth Criminal" crossed the 10-digit mark.

The track from Jackson's seventh album, 1987's Bad, was brought to vivid life by director Colin Chilvers, who tapped into a 1930 gangster nightclub vibe for one of MJ's most beloved videos. Jackson also paid homage to one of his musical and dancing heroes in it via a white suit and matching fedora that tipped its hat to dancer/actor/singer Fred Astaire.

The nearly 10-minute mini movie opens with Jackson running to the door of an underground club — where he's blasted by a gust of white wind — before entering to silence as the clubgoers stare him down warily. In classic MJ fashion, he flips a coin through the tense air, landing it perfectly into the slot of a juke box, which, of course, cues up the rhythmic Quincy Jones co-produced track.

What comes next is a clinic in classic Jackson, with the singer popping, locking and skittering across the club's floor while executing some of his signature spins and fancy footwork while breaking hearts and deftly dispatching would-be assassins with his signature elan. The action culminates in the video's centerpiece movie, the "anti-gravity lean," during which the track drops out and time slows down, before the beat picks back up and the singer slides into his moonwalk and then appears to defy the rules of the physical universe by keeping his feet planted and back straight while his body dips into a nearly 45 degree angle before righting itself.

According to a 2018 article in The Telegraph, the stunt was achieved via unseen cables, because, as neurosurgeon Dr. Nishant Yagnick told the paper, "It's not really possible physically to do it. He was cheating gravity." Jackson later patented a specially designed shoe with a hook in it so that he could recreate the stunt live, as most humans are able to pull off, at best, a 30-degree lean without injuring themselves.

A group dance number brings things to a close as Jackson opens fire with a machine gun, sending the revelers running for the exits.

"Smooth Criminal" joins a handful of other all-time-classic Jackson videos with more than one billion YouTube views, including such beloved hits as "Beat It," "Billie Jean," "They Don't Care About Us" and MJ's Halloween-appropriate 14-minute scarefest, "Thriller."
