Title: LAPD Attempt to Use Mann Act. to Smear MJ
Post by: Good Lets Dance on May 18, 2010, 10:19:21 PM
Jeez, can I trust the LAPD to arrest those responsible for MJ's death after finding out they attempt to use this arcane law on him for "consorting with white women"?(Source is from "Media Coverage & Censorship" at MJFiles.com) http://forum.mjfiles.com/ (http://forum.mjfiles.com/)

Another relevant article of Charles Thomson:

«FBI File Reveals Attempt to Convict Jackson with Racist Law
Documents contained in Michael Jackson's FBI file show that the LAPD tried to prosecute the star under the same legislation used in the past to smear black luminaries such as Jack Johnson and Chuck Berry.

Records show that the LAPD contacted the FBI on 7th September 1993 to ask whether the bureau would assist in the prosecution of Michael Jackson under the Mann Act.»

«The Mann Act, also known as the 'White Slavery Act', was introduced in 1910. Allowing officers to make arrests on the vague premise of 'immoral behaviour', the law was frequently used to smear black men, particularly those who consorted with white women.»

In an interview I saw with Joe and Katherine, Joe said it was racism that was behind the attacks on Michael, and Katherine says "sh-h-h". Black-skinned people have had to work twice as hard as whites to get half as far. Whites have put obstacles in their path so they don't achieve high standing, but many have surpassed all competitors, such as Michael, who leaves the other entertainers in the dust, IMO! I've read many stories.

Quote
Nicola lamented that they had done everything they could to get “that nigger” out of town but had failed. Apparently, authorities did not like the fact that Jackson was the richest resident in Santa Barbara, that he had married a white woman (Lisa Marie Presley) and that he owned all of that property. They promised they would not fail to get rid of him the next time around.

First of all I never even heard of this the Mann act.  This can't really be a real act I hope.  I mean come on are you freaking serious?  Maybe back in the 50's but in the 90's?  Was the LAPD trying to say it was bad that MJ associated with white women?  This is just ridiculous.  I've seen many white women throw themselves at MJ on tv probably more than black women no offense.  I don't think that should even be an issue.  I think MJ liked all kinds of women.  This make me sad as a black female to hear this.  I definitely hope this story is false.  I know the Mann act couldn't take place these days because the population where I live is all mixed up with biracial couples.  I think MJ and his family did face some racism in the past.  I think I remember MJ telling a story about his mom or one of his family members out driving in a bentley and then someone referred to them as the N word.  The LAPD is known to have displayed racism in the past towards blacks which is messed up.

I remember reading a quote or video somewhere (the Rabbi Tapes?) of MJ saying something to the effect of *He was the first ever black guy that white women screamed & fainted over* and white guys didn't like that at all! I also remember hearing something when G.W. Bush became President that "Michael Jackson has more Foreign Policy Experience than Bush" (because Bush had never been out of North America, and MJ had personally met so many foreign digitaries & leaders during his world tours)

It really does seem like The Gov. feared MJ's Popular Mass World Appeal and Influence and that's why they tried to Bring him down and ruin his reputation. When the 02 Concerts were reported to be Sold Out, they realized his popularity was not affected by their decades long Smear Campaign and he had to be permanently Terminated for fear of his potential Political Influence...

I am no Law expert but I always thought the "Mann Act" had to do with prostitution; something about taking minors (underage) over State Lines for commercial sex acts. I would like to know how it relates to Chuck Berry and this other guy I'm not familiar with (J. Johnson) It sounds like they were stretching the definition of the Mann act in some way to apply it to MJ - (LIke they always did with MJ..)

Here is just a little of what is on the Wiki page for Mann Act:

The White-Slave Traffic Act of 1910 (ch. 395, 36 Stat. 825; codified as amended at 18 U.S.C. § 2421–2424), better known as the Mann Act after Congressman James Robert Mann, is a United States law which prohibits white slavery and the interstate transport of females for “immoral purposes”. Its primary stated intent was to address prostitution, immorality, and human trafficking. While its ambiguous language allowed selective prosecutions for many years, it was later amended by Congress to apply only to actual criminal offenses.[1]

The most common use of the Mann Act was to prosecute men for having sex with underage women.[2] It was also used to harass others who had drawn the authorities' wrath for "immoral" behavior.

The first person prosecuted under the act was African-American heavyweight boxing champion Jack Johnson in a case with strong racist overtones[3]. He had had an interracial affair with a white prostitute named Lucille Cameron, but she refused to cooperate with the prosecution; Johnson later married her. Less than a month later he was re-arrested for having crossing a state line, before the Mann Act was passed, with Belle Schreiber, a prostitute who had left a brothel. She testified against him, and Johnson was convicted and sentenced to the maximum penalty of a year and a day in prison.

British film actor Charlie Chaplin was prosecuted in 1944 by Federal authorities for Mann Act charges related to his involvement with actress Joan Barry. Chaplin was acquitted of the charges, but the trial permanently damaged his public image in the US. The uproar contributed to his departure for Switzerland in the early 1950s.

Thanks for Legal Definition Nefari,

Pretty much like I said then: "ambiguous language that allowed for Selective Prosecution". Seems like Charlie Chaplin's experience was similar to MJ - was acquitted and then left the country....

Yesterday I ran into an old copy of "My Autobiography" by Charles Chaplin and bought it instantly. It contains close to 600 pages and although I want to read it all, I will first read what he himself writes about this issue.

LAPD is corrupted http://www.independent.co.uk/news/world ... 24647.html (http://www.independent.co.uk/news/world/americas/fbi-to-investigate-lapd-corruption-724647.html), this is one of the most aggressive police in the USA especially with "minorities"

I always have in mind the Rodney King "incident" and the police use of "excessive force".

As mentioned transcribe Charles Chaplin "Last discursor" from the movie "The Great Dictator" who reminds them ........

Chaplin was victim of the McCarthyism and the pursuit in the United States and had to go to England, where died.

.. .what here is expressed is very effective, why I found interesting and remember...

"! Ye are not machines! men is what ye are!"

Sorry, but I do not intend to be an emperador. No I intend to govern or conquer the generosity I like
_si is posible_a Jews,... black people... white.
We all want to help us .the human beings we are asi.Hay that live for happiness, not for the misfortune. Why do we hate and despise us?.In this world there is room for all the world land, which is rich and generous, you can provide to all our needs.
The way of life can be the freedom and beauty, however we are not the vemos.La greed poisons men soul.... get up in the world hate walls... and did us advance to step in goose to misery and death.
We create time speed, but we feel locked inside .the machine produced abundance, has left us in poverty.
Our knowledge made us non-believers; our intelligence, hardened and crueles.sentimos well short.
More than machines, we need humanity, more than intelligence, we need affection and love.If there is no such virtues, life will be violence and all will be lost.
The aviation and radio close us very own mas.La nature of these things is to appeal to the goodness of man... an apelacion to universal fraternity... to the union of all of us.
At this moment my voice reaches millions of people around the world.... million desperate, men... women... children... victims of a system that torture humans and imprisoned innocent.
"That I can hear say:"! don't despair! "."The unfortunately that it has fallen on us is not more than the product of greed in the agony... the bitterness of men who fear the advance of human progress.
Men who hate desapareceran, dictators succumb and the power of the people lost return to people.Y well, while dying men, freedom struggle never ended.

! Soldiers!..!Not delivered to these brutalities....... despise them them.... enslave regulate our lives... dictate your events, your ideas and your feelings! That make them go in the same step that treat them as a human win and that are used as fodder to Canyon!
!.Ye are not machines!.!Men is what ye are!
! And the love of mankind in your souls!..!Not odieis! just hate those who do not love and the inhuman!
! Soldiers! Not batalleis by slavery!Fight for freedom!.In the tenth seventh chapter of St Luke is said that the Kingdom of God is within man, not a single man or a group of men, but of all men.
! In you! you, the people have the power! The power to create machines! The power to create happiness!
You the people, you have the power to take this free and beautiful life... make a wonderful adventure.!By the tanto_en name of the democracy_usemos that power! We will unite us all!.Fight for a new world... a world fair that all ensure job that future young and protection to the old.
It is the promise of such things desalmados have risen to power.
But..!Only cheat! not fulfilled that promise!Ever it cumpliran! dictators are released, however, enslave the people.
Now fight to rid the world, down the borders, to end the non-profit, hatred and the arrogance.!Fight for a reason, a World Science and progress would lead to the ventura all our world!

Hannah, do me listening to these?.Where you are! located eyes!
Ves, Hannah?Sun is breaking clouds that are dispersed!
! We are coming out of the shadows into the light.!.We are entering a new world in a world best in men will be on the greed of hatred and brutality.

! Located eyes, Hannah!.The soul of man won wings and finally begins to fly.
Flies after the Rainbow after the light of hope.

I know that many white men feel threatened by black celebrities..  especially ones that are sexually attractive, successful and rich.  MJ was the most successful of them all.

Ive had conversations with white men over this and they all comment with an undertone about MJs colour.. when to me, i dont give a rats ass about his colour.  In fact.. because he had to go through prejudice and STILL overcame it in such a classy and non-aggressive, confident manner makes him MORE attractive and powerful.

(partial)

In 1967, 17 Southern states (all the former slave states plus Oklahoma) still enforced laws prohibiting marriage between whites and people of color. Maryland repealed its law in response to the start of the proceedings at the Supreme Court. After the ruling of the Supreme Court, the remaining laws were no longer in effect. Nonetheless, it took South Carolina until 1998 and Alabama until 2000 to officially amend their states' constitutions to remove language prohibiting miscegenation. In the respective referendums, 62% of voters in South Carolina and 59% of voters in Alabama voted to remove these laws.[23]
In 2009, Keith Bardwell, a justice of the peace in Robert, Louisiana, refused to officiate a civil wedding for an interracial couple. A nearby justice of the peace, on Bardwell's referral, officiated the wedding; the interracial couple sued Keith Bardwell and his wife Beth Bardwell in federal court.[24] See refusal of interracial marriage in Louisiana.

On Home Page of MJFiles.com in the upper right hand corner is a circle you "Click" for the forum. Then scroll down to the heading "REALITY", then scroll down to "MEDIA COVERAGE & CENSORSHIP", then scroll down til you see a Heading of "FBI File Reveals Attempt to Convict Jackson With Racist Law".

(I know it's kind of hard to find stuff on there and there isn't a Direct LInk to each post. An example is there is tons of stuff on T. Mattola but He is NOT listed under "People". you have to look in the part about the "Private Investigator Speaks Out" to find it.

Oh, and thanks for the Chuck Berry Link :)
