A website that claims Michael Jackson is masquerading as a severely disfigured man has become an internet sensation, attracting over one million hits per day.
An administrator from michaeljacksonhoaxforum.com claims Jackson appeared on the Larry King talk show in disguise on the day of his funeral last year, The Sun newspaper reports.
Hoax believers say Jackson is impersonating a man he befriended years ago — Dave Dave — who was severely burned in 1983 after his father doused him with kerosene and set him alight.
Dave, now 33 and living in Utah, said Jackson "accepted him" and "never let go".
"He took me into his life, which is very rare for Michael to do," he said.
Bloggers noted after Dave's appearance on the Larry King Show last year that his voice was of a similar pitch to Jackson's and that his mannerisms were the same.
Dave's eye colour also reportedly changed from green/blue to brown.
The comparisons have led to speculation that Dave's facial scarring would provide the perfect cover for Jackson, who died aged 50 in June last year.
Souza, an administrator from the hoax website, said: "Michael Jackson attended Larry King Live on the day of the funeral disguised as Dave Dave."
Souza runs the website with her friend Mo. They both call themselves "Death Hoax Investigators".
"The media told us two different stories," Souza was quoted as saying.
"TMZ.com reported he died six minutes before the doctor pronounced him dead, and CNN kept telling us he was in a coma ... what really happened still remains a mystery."
Dave's spokesman Brian Oxman rubbished the claims, saying the world was still grieving for Jackson.
"He was so remarkable that people find it difficult to believe he is no longer with us," Mr Oxman was quoted as saying.

WOW....that's in the Australian News. This morning they talked about MJ's children and how there is chaos in the Jackson home, and how the children might be put into care.
We don't usually get that much information down here in Australia. This is a mixed article, but it always hints towards "us" believers being "crazy" and in denial.
It's the first time I heard that Brian Oxman knew about and denied the rumours.
So when did Oxman read all of theses forums.?????????

People will go after him if his return is not done right. If people think for one second he did it for publicity or to get back at the media, he will be done. It's NOT a good thing that out of all the theories and clues there are, they chose the most bizarre sounding one.

This alone is not concrete evidence. Why didn't they talk about the fake autopsy report, the fake death certificate, the fake time line etc.........

Michael Jackson is still alive – or so say hordes of his fans who believe the King of Pop is living disguised as a burns victim.
Rumours sweeping the internet say that Jacko’s death last June was all part of this complex charade.
And his eager fans are clinging onto the hope that the Thriller singer has morphed into Dave Dave – a man famous in America for being a burns victim at the age of 6 after being burnt by his father when a custody battle hit sick depths.
Dave Dave isn’t doing anything to quash the speculation either, even having posted controversial snaps of himself laying in a coffin on his MySpace page reminiscent of the Thriller video.
One determined forum member, from a site claiming Jacko’s death was a hoax, said: ‘There's no doubt Michael Jackson is still alive. We have the evidence, now we want to let everyone know.’
The controversial frenzy was sparked when the fake MJ, real name David Rothenberg, appeared on Larry King Live to talk about his friendship with the King himself.
Years after Dave suffered the burns, his mother wrote a book about his traumatic ordeal and organised a trip to Jackson's Neverland ranch where the pair then formed a solid friendship.
Fans have gone as far as to compare Michael Jackson against Mr Rothenberg from the evidence in the Larry King YouTube video.
They say he has the same high-ptiched voice, the scarring would be the ‘perfect cover’ for MJ's infamous plastic surgery scars and that he’s even changed his eye colour to match.
However, last night the Jackson’s family lawyer told The Sun: ‘Michael was so remarkable, people find it difficult to believe he is no longer with us.’

Members of a Michael Jackson death hoax forum claim the King of Pop is alive and well and once disguised himself as a burns victim on national television.
The website, Michaeljacksonhoaxforum.com, attracts over one million hits per day and is used by fans to discuss theories about whether the King of Pop is still alive.
It's claimed that on Larry King's talk show on September 3rd last year, Jackson disguised himself as Dave Dave - a 33-year-old burns victim who befriended Jackson when he was a child.
Dave Dave suffered horrific burns when his deranged father set him on fire when he was six-years-old in an act of revenge over custody.
As a child, his mother wrote a book about his ordeal and took him on a trip to Michael Jackson's Neverland Ranch where they became close friends.
Law student Dave, who changed his name from David Rothenberg to sever all links to his criminal father, appeared on Larry King's show ahead of Michael Jackson's memorial service in September.
He told the presenter: “(Michael) opened up his arms to me and accepted me as a very good friend of his. And throughout the years, he never let me go."
The interview was been posted on Youtube when death hoax theorists noted the similarity in Dave Dave's voice and mannerisms to Jackson.
According to The Sun, forum founder 'Souza' said: "Michael Jackson attended Larry King Live on the day of the funeral disguised as Dave Dave."
Yet despite the theory's Dave Dave's spokesman Brian Oxman rubbished the claims, telling the tabloid: “"The stories that have surfaced on the blogs concerning Michael Jackson still being alive are part of the worldwide grief that everyone whoever loved Michael Jackson now feels.
"He was so remarkable that people find it difficult to believe he is no longer with us. They long for him to remain a part of our lives.
"I have spoken to Dave within the past several weeks, and he is doing well. He is going to school in Utah, and he is studying to be a lawyer.
"I can assure you that while Michael Jackson would be thrilled that Dave would become a lawyer, Michael Jackson never wanted to be a lawyer himself. He would shudder at the very thought."

A website has claimed that Michael Jackson is alive and masquerading as a burns victim, astonishing users all over the world.
Internet rumours on YouTube and Facebook also claim the King of Pop is appearing on TV talk shows as Dave Dave, 33, a man who suffered severe facial disfigurement after his father set him on fire.
Dave was born David Rothenberg, in Brooklyn, New York. At the age of six, his father set him on fire over a twisted revenge concerning the child's custody.
The little boy suffered 90 percent injuries, and was scarred badly, but survived.
His mother, Marie wrote a book on his ordeal, which was then made into a movie. A trip to Jackson's Neverland ranch was organized for the boy, where the pop star took the boy under his wing.
Dave, now a law student living in Utah, changed his surname to break all ties with his father.
"He befriended me. He took me into his life, which is very rare for Michael to do.
"But he opened up his arms to me and accepted me as a very good friend of his. And throughout the years, he never let me go," The Sun quoted the boy as saying.
Now Dave, who appeared on the Larry King show to talk about his memories of Jackson on the day of the star's memorial service last year, is rumoured to be the pop star himself.
The website called michaeljacksonhoaxforum.com, is owned by a 28-year-old and her friend, Mo, who call themselves Michael Jackson Death Hoax Investigators.
"At first we started investigating Michael's death as it was a gut feeling we both had.
"The media told us two different stories. TMZ.com reported he died six minutes before the doctor pronounced him dead, and CNN kept telling us he was in a coma. What really happened still remains a mystery," said the website owner.
Lawyer Brian Oxman, who acts as Dave's spokesman, rubbished the rumours saying that Jackson would be the last man wanting to study law.
"He was so remarkable that people find it difficult to believe he is no longer with us. They long for him to remain a part of our lives.
"Dave Dave is an extraordinary young man. Michael Jackson took care of Dave for many years and asked nothing in return," he added.

Internet rumours on YouTube and Facebook also claim the King of Pop is appearing on TV talk shows as Dave Dave, 33, a man who suffered severe facial disfigurement after his father set him on fire.
Dave was born David Rothenberg, in Brooklyn, New York. At the age of six, his father set him on fire over a twisted revenge concerning the child's custody.
The little boy suffered 90 percent injuries, and was scarred badly, but survived.
His mother, Marie wrote a book on his ordeal, which was then made into a movie. A trip to Jackson's Neverland ranch was organized for the boy, where the pop star took the boy under his wing.
Dave, now a law student living in Utah, changed his surname to break all ties with his father.
"He befriended me. He took me into his life, which is very rare for Michael to do.

Apparently today has been a big news day. It has spread all over the world.
Don't know who or what tipped them off, but I'm surely not happy about it.
The only evidence presented by the media, is about Dave Dave possibly being MJ in disguise.
This alone is not concrete evidence. Why didn't they talk about the fake autopsy report, the fake death certificate, the fake time line etc.........
This type of attention makes us lose credibility. Its a mockery.!!
Maybe in time they will start publishing those sort of things.. like the fake ar and fake will.. maybe this is the beginning.. the mainstream media might be testing the waters to see how the general public react.

I don't know what to say about this all, I mean aren't we waking up sleeping dogs now? I think it's good that everyone knows that Michael is alive, but what if Michael isn't Dave Dave then that rumor is spread now there isn't 100% proof that was Michael, I don't believe Michael was Dave Dave but that's just my opinion. I think we shouldn't go any further in the media let this over to Michael, he is busy with the plans I assume, let this over to him.
I hope I didn't offend anyone with this but this is just my opinion.

I agree, what if Dave Dave is just being..Dave Dave? If Michael is really alive he hoaxed the death to go away from the media but now we are the ones who can't let him move on and our speculations brought him on the newspapers again.. Let's hope someone from the Jackson family saw the news ..maybe they got something to say

What if they wanted him dead and he is trying to give ''them'' and you know who I'm talking about the Illuminati and stuff the biggest punch of all. He outsmarted them we should have let this over to him it was not up to us to go to the media. But that is just my opinion. You have only thought about how this could help the views on our forum and how this could help Dave's carreer but you haven't thought about what this could do for Michael. This is crazy guys ! It just prooves how the medias work. They spread "news" without even checking the content and the sources.
The major news outlets won't jump in it because they have a higher level of credibility for the majority of people. Imagine if CNN was broadcasting this news what would happened ?

Well excuse me, but this is a PUBLIC website. EVERYONE can visit and read all that is published on our website, blog and on these boards. It's not like this is a secret website, that no one knows of. The hoax has been reported in the media before, just by reporters who visited hoax websites. The only difference this time is that it's spreading all over the world.

I want to know why the media cannot do it's own investigating? That, of course, is what they are notorious for. If anyone can blow the lid off a story it would be the powerful and much more resource-laden ($$$$$$$) media companies. On many levels, it is confusing to me and question why it has taken nearly a full year for this to come about?????? Has anyone else questioned this????? Is there a purpose for it all happening right now? When does this case (C. Murray) go to court???? Soon, huh?!?!?!?!? Is there any relationship to all of this?!?!?!? Hmmmmmmmmmm....I wonder?!?!?!?!

I don't think it's a question of being a fan or not. A lot of fans do also believe that we're crazy. It's all about the truth here. We are sane people, fan or not. But tabloids do not take these things into account.

I already called The Sun this morning as I know that people from these boards have posted comments, yet The Sun only approved the comments which are ridiculing the believers. They promised to investigate this matter and call me back, but hey, of course, no call so far...

So ckkhis. One of my ex roommate from when I was in london called me to let me know aboutthis article even thou I had read about it all here. Sh knows about us and the forum coz I have proudly told her about it and my opinions about the hoax. So instead of admitting that there is a possibilty of a hoax here, she mocked us askig me if this is what we have been discussing inour forums.. But guess what, I told her about theeal deal exactly the way it happened and she was shocked. Also showed her this link to mo's thread about the emails. She apologized.
So I can see how this can damage our name but heck we dint give a shit. I wish there was a way to publish the whole set of emails so people can know what's going on!

The media worked tirelessy to bring MJ down, what makes you think they would actual earn their pay checks and do some instigative journalism. Copy and Paste Journalism is the new standards. MJ knew it long b4 we did, and now its coming to a head.

I mean, even when you say something to someone and ask to repeat it to someone else, there is the way you say what you think, the way the person understand what you said, and the way he will repeat it with his own words. So even simple message can be twisted. Then you add money research, to print only what will make people buy the paper, then you add specific choices like being "politically correct/friendly to this or that religion/group/politic/society/type of paper (tabloid, family, financial, religious...) And you get the final article of what you first wanted to say. If you look for reality, you shouldn't read the news :mrgreen:

If these journalist (and i use that term lightly) did this in college, even high school. They would be kicked out for plagarism. I dont understand how school dont tolerate this non-sense, but the general public does. This hoax is more important I originally thought.

Good thing is that people might start reading about the investigation here on the forum and open their eyes to all the oddities instead of accepting just accepting Michael's dead. If Michael did pass away people need to start questioning everything surrounding this case and not just narrow it down to drug use :roll: . Michael (and everyone who's been treated unfairly) deserved that at least. I still do not believe Dave Dave was Michael and feel sorry for him. I think he'd be happier without this publicity...

Apparently today has been a big news day. It has spread all over the world.
Don't know who or what tipped them off, but I'm surely not happy about it.
The only evidence presented by the media, is about Dave Dave possibly being MJ in disguise.
This alone is not concrete evidence. Why didn't they talk about the fake autopsy report, the fake death certificate, the fake time line etc.........
This type of attention makes us lose credibility. Its a mockery.!!
Not really, think about it. Many will come to the site and start searching the threads themselves and form their own opinions. What it really will show is there are some people here that have done some pretty strong investigative work and that we are no "lunes" at all. One paper in Australia has already linked to the Dave Dave thread. I'm sure other media outlets will take their cue and link to other threads here on the forum.

I am waiting to see if there is any comment from anybody in Michael's family. If they get to hear of this and Michael has really gone then surely one of them will speak up and say, without any shadow of a doubt, that Michael DID pass away?
Let's wait and see. If this goes global and there is nothing from the Jackson family in reaction to it, then it's obvious that we were right all along!

But unfortunately it shows how "copy and paste journalism" works. The german articles I read today (all like "MJ is living on as his burn victim friend" or so) were really annoying.
The whole thing raised my suspicion that there might be something like a media ban on MJ, like an - unwritten - order to suppress any "favourable stuff" about him, i.e. as a rule only absurd or ridiculous news are allowed (like "weirdness is alive") ....
Thanks God the dutch press reacted a little differently! At least Netherland`s media seems to be more "open minded" ... researching for some more details.
By the way, I did not know that this website gets a million clicks per day --- WOW!

It has been quite the ride so far today. We knew that an article in The Sun would create a snowball effect, but this is more than we expected.
This afternoon we were contacted by three Dutch news channels - BNN, TMF and SBS6. BNN and TMF requested for radio interviews, SBS6 requested for a TV interview. We told them that due to safety reasons we don't want to appear national radio and TV, but if they want to do items about the hoax and have sincere intentions, we are of course willing to cooperate and provide them with information.
All three were very dismayed about what The Sun did, and we had good conversations of around 15 minutes with each of them. They had all read the email correspondence with Jenna Sloan and the original piece we wrote for The Sun, and were stunned to hear our additional information on the piece.

I think this is good and bad.
Its good because this is EXACTLY what MJ was talking about all these years concerning how the media twists the truth. They LIE. One rag mag reports something and they all go with it without investingating the REAL story.
Its bad because now, everyone will look at MJ disguised as a burn victim and be mortified, which will be very, very bad for him. Like another member said....I dont think this is how MJ wanted this to go. However, IF he was DD on Larry King then how will he explain himself? Why DID he disguise himself as a burn victim and not someone else? I mean, had anyone even heard of Dave Dave before all this?
Has anyone checked DD's Myspace page lately? Im sure he now knows he is a worldwide topic now...
yes maybe we didn't have to stress much on Dave Dave but on many other things (even tho is weird DD wasn't a public person but suddenly he appears on TV the same day of the memorial after he died) . But if that information is not true it will bring even more speculations and problems to Michael. Tho i don't think DD is Michael.. he wouldn't "joke" with that and disguise himself as a burn victim.

The most interesting fact is that despite the unquestioned copy & paste information sharing there were very beautiful photographs of Mike chosen for the publications. This is A LOT different from what we witnessed during the last months.
Interestingly the picture frequently chosen for Dave was with a bowler.
Remember the recent bowler photo game with the apple head by TMZ?
IMHO this is not happening by accident.

In some strange twisted way, it almost feels right to be viewed as a crazy because of believing in the hoax. Media viewed MJ that way, so why not his beLIEvers. I don't think I expected anything less.

it's an everyday thing RK my family says you want Michael alive. I'm like yeah I don't have a problem admitting it. The "death" stunned me since the beginning at that point I knew almost nothing of Mike but I do remember thinking one time I saw him on a tabloid at the store I was like the guy just wants to live a normal life kinda pist me off. Then, the "death" came and at the moment I said nope not dead plus I saw how flat the body looked when it was airlifted, mom was like maybe this dude isn't dead that doesn't look like a body thanks mom u just confirmed it to me lol! I found the hoax forum I saw yeah baby now i'm a fan I feel cheated my generation didn't get to listen to much of him cus of the media. Mike has flaws I'm not gonna say ooh no he won't do this or that but he's got qualities I wish more ppl had go Mike!

Según información de la página web thesun.co.uk, 'El Rey del Pop' apareció en algunos programas de televisión con el nombre de Dave Dave.
Dave Dave es conocido como David Rothenberg, tiene 33 años y hace tiempo visitó el rancho Neverland, a petición de la estrella de pop.
Poco después de la muerte del cantante, Dave participó en la emisión de Larry King donde reveló el encuentro con el intérprete.
Los rumores iniciaron luego de darse a conocer la entrevista donde el hombre hablaba muy parecido a Jackson.

This is crazy guys ! It just prooves how the medias work. They spread "news" without even checking the content and the sources.
The major news outlets won't jump in it because they have a higher level of credibility for the majority of people. Imagine if CNN was broadcasting this news what would happened ?

Yes, but Michael also said “tabloid news are garbage”, “don't trust in what is said in tabloids”.
Problem is you don’t read tabloids to see how Wall Street or global economy goes, you read them looking for some LMAO or bizarre news. Then, people click the link and some title such as “Is Jacko posing as burns victim?” does appear.
Afterwards, they read the whole article: it basicly says that there are some people on the net claiming that Michael Jackson is alive and that we’ve seen him under a disguise of a burning victim that was also his friend... people aren't gonna take this seriously, I know I wouldn’t. It makes less credible the whole thing, that’s why I think it wasn’t the best move at all, but that’s just my opinion.
I highly doubt people are gonna make any deep rational analysis of this. In a couple of days this will be old news. At the end of the day, we are gonna be laughed at and called crazy, but now in a lot of languages.

I never admitted that Dave Dave is Michael in disguise.Michael cannot pose like he is one of those he considers friend or anybody famous. Michael's disguise I believe looks like no one.
On the other hand, spreading this site and hoax subject is good, may be, so Michael's come back won't be too shocking for non believers. Otherwise, there will be mass hysteria and lawsuits against MJ.

WOW....that's in the Australian News. This morning they talked about MJ's children and how there is chaos in the Jackson home, and how the children might be put into care.
We don't usually get that much information down here in Australia. This is a mixed article, but it always hints towards "us" believers being "crazy" and in denial.
It's the first time I heard that Brian Oxman knew about and denied the rumours.
So when did Oxman read all of theses forums.?????????
At least the internet hot searches is getting alot of attention now.

That is my thought. Oxman is not going to say where MJ is and that the hoax is true. From June 25, 2009, nothing about MJ's supposed death has made sense to me. I am going to keep on going until I know that truth of what happened to MJ. The Truth will set me freedom. Maybe then the jigsaw will fit together, but as it stands now the whole jigsaw is missing for me. A website has claimed that Michael Jackson is alive and masquerading as a burns victim, astonishing users all over the world.
Internet rumours on YouTube and Facebook also claim the King of Pop is appearing on TV talk shows as Dave Dave, 33, a man who suffered severe facial disfigurement after his father set him on fire.
Dave was born David Rothenberg, in Brooklyn, New York. At the age of six, his father set him on fire over a twisted revenge concerning the child's custody.
The little boy suffered 90 percent injuries, and was scarred badly, but survived.
His mother, Marie wrote a book on his ordeal, which was then made into a movie. A trip to Jackson's Neverland ranch was organized for the boy, where the pop star took the boy under his wing.
Dave, now a law student living in Utah, changed his surname to break all ties with his father.
"He befriended me. He took me into his life, which is very rare for Michael to do.
"But he opened up his arms to me and accepted me as a very good friend of his. And throughout the years, he never let me go," The Sun quoted the boy as saying.
Now Dave, who appeared on the Larry King show to talk about his memories of Jackson on the day of the star's memorial service last year, is rumoured to be the pop star himself.
The website called michaeljacksonhoaxforum.com, is owned by a 28-year-old and her friend, Mo, who call themselves Michael Jackson Death Hoax Investigators.
"At first we started investigating Michael's death as it was a gut feeling we both had.
"The media told us two different stories. TMZ.com reported he died six minutes before the doctor pronounced him dead, and CNN kept telling us he was in a coma. What really happened still remains a mystery," said the website owner.
Lawyer Brian Oxman, who acts as Dave's spokesman, rubbished the rumours saying that Jackson would be the last man wanting to study law.
"He was so remarkable that people find it difficult to believe he is no longer with us. They long for him to remain a part of our lives.
"Dave Dave is an extraordinary young man. Michael Jackson took care of Dave for many years and asked nothing in return," he added.
Jackson died aged 50 in June last year. (ANI)

I contacted Nelson Aspen, sunrise's entertainment reporter from Hollywood via twitter yesterday pleading with him to look into it properly and be the first on air in Australia to show an unbiased view of the hoax and he responded to me early this morning to let me know it was going to air.

I was watching the other channel here in Aus it was also on Kerri Anne, Jamie did the segment and showed footage of Dave Dave and spoke about the website and how many hits it recieves a day, Jamie said it's really worth having a look at. :D I think we might have a new believer, although he didn't say it. They spoke about it again with a radio personality here and he said that this is not going to be the last we hear of it and that it's going to be a big story over the coming weeks !!!!!!!!!!

Wow that's amazing how quickly it spread. I have a feeling though here in the US we won't be hearing about it. I haven't seen anything here at all. When I do a search for the article title I get a lot of hits for London, India, etc, but not the US. I'm not surprised though. They only feed us what they want us to see.

I know I post a lot but I feel what I have to say is important here. Has anyone ever thought of the Lord of the Rings effect here? What I mean by this is keep "THE EYE" fixed on us here at the hoax site, we the believers, the eye being the tabloids and the news media etc....the snowball that is happening right now and while that EYE is fixed on us Frodo aka Michael actually has more leverage to move about, make a move, stay hidden, do whatever he needs to do. This may not be a bad thing....but it still leaves the dangling question about the confounded Sunflowers?????? lol

Let's face it, the SUN was reading this forum long before they contacted M&S. They gave that away when they asked about the Illuminati. They wanted to write something anyway. When they wanted some quick topics instead of reading through millions of pages, it was much easier and quicker to just ask. But now there is also topic of how and what they actually corresponded with proof of how media twists the truth. I wouldn't worry too much about Dave Dave...this news was out on youtube months ago when appeared on LKL and he played along with his cryptic self ... he could have stopped it back then. I understand what you are trying yo say. But have you thought about how this could ruin Michael's plans? How is he suppose to feel now! What if they wanted him dead and he is trying to give ''them'' and you know who I'm talking about the Illuminati and stuff the biggest punch of all. He outsmarted them we should have let this over to him it was not up to us to go to the media. But that is just my opinion. You have only thought about how this could help the views on our forum and how this could help Dave's carreer but you haven't thought about what this could do for Michael. I'm not trying to be disrespectful but I just think this was a very bad move. But I still respect what you guys are doing but I have a bad feeling about this. Until now not many media sources knew Michael was alive and now they do. And in my opinion that is waking up sleeping dogs.

I think I remember seeing the Ninemsn article on the television news at the time (Channel 9). I didn't think much of it at the time. I don't understand how they're all claiming we think Michael IS Dave Dave, implying we don't know there is a REAL Dave Dave. We never said he is POSING as Dave Dave 24/7, we just think it was Michael on LKL (most do anyway).There's a big difference...and none of the stories seem to recognise that. :x

:o I must be psychic. I was just flipping through the news channels and saw the tail end of what looked like a story about the CONDRAD MURRAY documentary. Again, it was on channel 9 but I can't seem to find the story on the website :x I might keep an ear out when my grandma watches the 6pm news in 5 minutes, but I think that's only Sydney news and not national, I don't know...hopefully someone else picked up on the whole story :shock:
