Title: The Memorial: "Will You Be There"
Post by: Serenitys_Dream on May 02, 2010, 04:48:56 AM
Jennifer Hudson's performance at the Memorial for Michael Jackson was very touching but was it more than that? This video looks at some other possible reasons behind her beautiful performance.

She skipped a whole verse:

Weary
Tell Me Will You Hold Me
When Wrong, Will You Skold Me
When Lost Will You Find Me?

But They Told Me
A Man Should Be Faithful
And Walk When Not Able
And Fight Till The End
But I'm Only Human

This is my favourite verse from the song..

Thats my favourite too...  why cut that out.  Unless she couldnt make her voice sing that.. its a powerful part of the song.  MAybe her vocals couldnt match up.

That doesn't make sense.  Jennifer Hudson can sing just about anything.

That's my favourite part too but you know, maybe they had to cut it off because of time... I mean when MJ sings I'll be there at later age he doesn't sing the "Let me fill your heart with joy and laughter" part at all, and that's my very favourite part in that song. I think it's just because the song would be too long with it. Too bad they cut just the best pieces off... :D

That doesn't make sense either.  What difference will 2 more minutes make to an over 2 hours memorial?

Yeah I don't know why they ever do it. Just gave an example on another song too.

hm weird... But it 's the same thing with Jermaine "confusing" the verse of "smile"

Original:
Hide every trace of sadness
light up your face with gladness

and Jermaine sang

Hide every trace of gladness
light up your face with sadness

Coincidence? I think no!

But why would she have left out that verse? She's able to sing that powerful and high... maybe it's because the word "man"? :?:
