Michael Jackson’s sister says people will be “surprised” when they hear the details of his death.
The pop icon died of acute Propofol intoxication by intravenous injection of another last June, and his personal physician Dr. Conrad Murray has been charged with his involuntary manslaughter. Murray has admitted administering the powerful anaesthetic to help Michael sleep, but has denied anything he did would have killed the star. Murray insists Michael injected himself with the lethal dose.
Murray’s hearing is due to take place on June 14, when Superior Court Judge Michael Pastor is expected to schedule a preliminary hearing to determine whether Murray will face a full trial, and whether he can retain his medical licence.
Michael’s older sister Rebbie Jackson has warned people to be prepared for some shocks when they hear the evidence. “There’s an ongoing investigation, so I have to be very careful about what I say. But I think there’s going to be some interesting results for everyone,” she said in an interview on American programme Today.
Murray is the only person who has been charged in relation to the ‘King of Pop’s death, but his family have maintained there are many more who are responsible. It’s a sentiment Rebbie echoed on the programme, saying she wouldn’t be surprised if others were involved.
“I think it’s a lot more than that possibly,” she said. “We’ll find out. I can’t say too much, but it’s interesting what’s going on.”
Michael left three children when he died, Prince Michael, 13, Paris, 12, and eight-year-old Prince Michael II, also known as ‘Blanket’. The kids are being cared for by the singer’s mother Katherine Jackson, with the rest of his family also helping out.
“They’re with family members. They’re insulated, you might say, and surrounded with a lot of cousins. I think it’s helping them to be stable, but it’s very difficult,” Rebbie told the show. “It was very difficult. It was very hard. But yet, day by day you could see the progress of family members getting better and dealing with the situation better and feeling more serene about it. They seem to be doing fine.”

At the start of The Jacksons A Family Dynasty, Marlon said that MJ's passing was as surprising for them (the brothers) as it was for us (the fans).

I am in agreement with you. the word "surprise" conjures up relatively positive images, not negative for me. After all, the dictionary uses these words as synonyms: flabbergast, astonish, astound, amaze

I agree, "surprised" is a strange word in context to a death. I remember when This Is It was being promoted, they used the same phrase when talking about the ending. I wonder what did they mean :?

Yes, and isn't it interesting that the media doesn't question their choice of words? I agree - the word surprising is the last word I would have used to describe this situation. Let's hope we're surprised in a good way!

I agree,... more appropriate words would be something like "shocked", "saddened", "horrified", "angry", etc... not "surprised".
It just feels like they are playing with us. Why are they dragging this out like this?
if Michael really has passed away, why play with the fans like this? Its so unfair.

Yeah, You're Right. This is the interpretation by the interpreter...but in the context of this article, to me "Shock" & "Surprise" mean the same (cause we Are Not talking about a Birthday Party here...)

She knows a lot it seems and if Michael's "death/murder" is such a mystery even to the family just how in the world does Rebbie or Latoya KNOW anything? Hmmmmm? She's not the police, or a criminal or a forensic specialist or a detective....etc....and she's not exactly saying shes guessing at the outcome. It's like she knows we are all in for a huge surprise and me is still thinking Conrad Murray just well "looks odd". Has anyone every looked at the way his back slopes when he walks, the way it arches like someone not used to carrying around a gut or heavy body, like someone trying to walk taller than they actually are. And has anyone ever heard this guy really chit chat all that much. He's a man of few words and few pictures. All he said at that last court-room appearance was "Yeah" and he kept his head down, possibly because he's ashamed but I'm not buying that yet. Something is just funny about him.

I can't understand why the family keep spilling the beans by announcing to the media and the public about a private ongoing investigation of a conspiracy to murder Michael.. This does not make sense, and wouldn't the FBI or police be telling them to "keep this quiet" as it may jeopordise the investigation????? I mean, don't you think the possible murderers read the paper or watch TV, and will have time to creats some sort of alibi or coverup their tracks and get rid of all the evidence tieing it to them??
Sorry, but I think this is way too wierd. First they all admit MJ was a drug addict (which is in favour of Murray) , and then they continue to jeoporise a private investigation but telling the world about this. I would have thought they should have some sort of gag order with all the infromation they have on that.
Oh well, looks like we just have to wait and see. As always, with L.O.V.E xxooxx

I agree. Is it really possible that the family knows as much as they are alluding to when it comes to statements such as these? I have my doubts that the criminologists/police are giving them the full scoop. What do you think?

As long as we investigate (or speculate), there will be an investigation on-going. Very true.
Surprise does not always come in a positive connotation.
It may mean being astounded in either way.
To surprise someone may also mean to catch someone (who is not prepared for this to happen).
It may also mean to appear strange.
It may well mean to catch in a trap, too.
