They have me pretty pissed off. I was planning on taking a trip to Indiana for the press conference since I know I won't be able to afford tickets to the fanvention. Now they put up on their facebook that they only invited a few "select" fans. Basically I take that to mean that anyone else will just get turned away. A LOT of people are planning on going to that conference. Omer will be there and so will Genevieve. Katherine will be via satellite.

Ugh. I wanted to be there.

They'll have it on ustream. http://www.ustream.tv/channel/the-mjfan ... conference (http://www.ustream.tv/channel/the-mjfanvention2010-press-conference)

According to the website it starts at 1:00 p.m. CST (1300 hours), which is 6:00 p.m. GMT (1800 hours), unless I calculated the time incorrectly!

Event:

Press Conference

Time: 1 p.m.

------  I read somewhere (of course I can't find it now!!) that you had to have press credentials in order to attend the "press conference", so I don't know if the average person would be allowed inside to this anyway. It's great that they have the livestream!  It will be interesting to see how this goes today...

Am I wrong in thinking their prices are a bit (by a bit I mean completely, astronomically) too high?

I've got the ustream up and they haven't started yet. But watching the chat box on the side is kind of amusing ha.

They didn't stream it. We all stayed in the ustream for hours waiting and it never happened. Then Genevieve posted on twitter that she had just finished it.

Now I'm even more pissed than I was to begin with

Tweet from Genevieve just now - Sorry, due to technical difficulties, the press conference wasn't able to show on ustream. I apologize. But the video will be on the website.

That is way too high for those tickets.  If I was going to pay that amount, I would expect Michael, himself, be there.  Even though that does include the price for hotel for four days, it still would be close to 500.00 just for fanvention.

This is way to bring $$$$ to Indiana on Michael's death.  They been trying to find
a way.  Who Cares about them, is Michael going to be there?  I would head to
Florida for warm vacation any day.   8-)

Thanks for this video, as there is no video on the website so far - I could not find any information on the website concerning the "press conference' today - the only update on the website is this concerning the "Packages" I guess this is the "early bird special rate" for the first 200 fans...   looks like groups of four get the biggest discount...

I know that's right.  If I paid money like that I would have to see the man himself MJ that's for sure.  The Jacksons are cool but wow expensive they're not MJ.

Yeah people in the chat on ustream were talking about the prices while we were waiting for the stream. Several of them had gone to events where Michael himself was present for $40 or less. But we're supposed to pay $1000 + cost of travel + any memorabilia you might wanna buy ... for WHAT exactly? It's not worth it. Not even close!

It would be cool to see Omer and Gen, but not that cool.  :?  If I were gonna save up that kind of money, I'd rather go to LA.
