Post by: Harry on February 20, 2010, 10:45:51 PM
So the 911 call was made from the 9641 Sunset Blvd, Beverly Hills who is also a Hotel ?

Did Oxman say that Frank Dileo was maybe the one who made the call? Frank Dileo was at a beverly Hills hotel on June 25th..

:o I did not know Dileo was at that hotel on that day.

However what I do know is that there was a thread on this either in the old forum, mjkit, or on this one some time back. People discussed the fact that it could have been the location of the tower that capted the cell call or something like that. In the end, there was some research done on cell phone towers and I am pretty sure it was determined that it was not the case because of the new technology or something like that. I am not sure about that though, quite honestly I didn't understand much of the explanation they gave on the cell phone towers vs 911 calls.

I don't know where that post is either.  Wish I did.  But instead of believing whoever went into that detailed explanation or me for that matter and speculation and jump to conclusions based on no knowledge on the topic, why doesn't someone just call their local PD if it's that important to you all and ask them how the calls get transferred.  There really is a lot to it depending depending depending -

This is a brief paste from the link below where you can read the rest.  There's countless pages where you can read about this kind of thing.  It's not as scientific as what the other poster wrote, that this gal mentioned but you'll get the idea.
The call came from the house most likely.

Paste..........................................
There is also something known as simple Cell ID-based location, which will provide a coarse location estimate based on the nearest cell site. Accuracy will range from a few hundred meters to several kilometers, depending on cell density.
END PASTE...............

Hi Harry,

It is just a matter of 2 calls made after eachother that are being displayed on the screen: one at 12:21  and the other of 12:22. The one from 12:21 is from the previous caller at a different adress.

Random thought.  I think it's interesting that of all places, the King of pop had to "die" on Sunset Blvd.  Have you seen the movie "Sunset Blvd"?  You should watch it when you have the chance.  It's also about a Hollywood murder.
