I just realized that we have some really young people on this board. Since I was around to see Michael climb to fame, I feel like an old timer some times.
Also, it makes me wonder about the perspectives being posted. That could be why so many opinions are different.
So, I was wondering..How old are most of the people on the board?

Well I just came across this site because of looking up MJ stuff when I started watching his interviews and things after "This is It" came out...I will not say my age here but I was born around the time HIStory came out...so I'm probably one of the younger ones here....not sure if I completely believe Michael is alive or not..all of it is just too real. I do keep up with the topics on here so please do not try to show me "proof" for I have seen/heard enough. so yeah.. :) it seems like a really comfortable enviroment hear and no matter how much I try to believe he is alive I can't, there are many things that have happened that I believe strange but just as there is no SOLID, UNDENIABLE proof he is alive as there is no SOLID, UNDENIABLE proof he is dead either(except for maybe the newest autopsy..that got me..) It goes both ways. But anyway...back on topic...haha..I'm probabaly one of the younger ones here :D

oh my...lol.. you ARE young. I am glad to see that his music was still crossing barriers like that. My granddaughter (dating myself now...lol), who is 4 will come to the computer and bat those pretty eyes and say..."hey.. that's Michael Jackson"...I just love it.

That's so adorable :) Well, all I ever heard about Michael before he died was, the weird guy with the fake nose, he molests children, bought the Elephant Man's bones, with a bunch of kids making jokes...all that kind of stuff...but then I realized he is just another celebrity with a bunch of hype and actually a better person than any celebrity I can think of off the top of my head. Every morning before school I listen to Man in the Mirror and try to think of away I can change myself for the better. :) On the way home, I walk, it is my fun Michael time. I just dance on the way home, OBVIOUSLY not as good as Michael, but you know, just for fun. :) Since the "This is It" movie came out I see him in a different way and yes, I do think it is Michael in the movie, may just be me but I couldn't see anybody else performing like that. Well, this is more than just how old I am but you know, like I said real comfortable enviroment. :)

dude i was born around the same time as you :? there aren't many people as young as us, and not many of my classmates like Michael, so i feel like i'm special :P and yes, you are allowed to believe whatever you want, even if others think different :)

dude i was born around the same time as you :? there aren't many people as young as us, and not many of my classmates like Michael, so i feel like i'm special :P and yes, you are allowed to believe whatever you want, even if others think different :)

Haha well I'm actually 14 but you know.. XD I said around when HIStory came out but actually I was born the year HIStory came out XD (i think) It's just too hard to explain how I've seen Michael go from some weird guy to a really kind person, you know through his interviews (not Bashir :evil: ) stories, and music :)

I always think to myself do they honestly think he is dead even if he could be from what we see now honestly? and I have grown up with Michael.
I've known the entire Thriller dance since I was 4 years old :D

I'm only 22, and as someone said, prior to his supposed death I only heard all the stupid stuff ath people always said about him. Honestly, i never really gave it much thought, but I remember dacning to his Thriller album in fourth grade at least once or twice a week (My fourth grade teacher really liked him apparnetly,a nd she'd make us dance to Thriller and Billie jean etc.).

Im almost 18!
He was the first American singer I ever heard of! and ofcourse I heared the rumors like u ppl, but I think where im from tabloids are not very big so thats why I guess I never had a negative impression of him or a positive one necessarily!
but weeks b4 his "death" I started going back down memory lane and rememberd a lot of the music, and came across interviews and literally days b4 the "death" I became obsessed!

I agree, age doesn't really mean much. Think of how mature and smart Michael always was even as a young boy.
I do find it very interesting that so many young people are getting into this and trying to find the truth. That means Michael's legacy and music will live on no matter what.
I was surprised to see HOW young some people on here are. 13 just sounds seems like so long ago! I am 23 and I still feel pretty young. I was born in 86, right around Michael's "peak". I lived with my grandparents and my aunt was 12 years older than me, so she was a huge MJ fan of course. I really did grow up listening to him as well. I didn't want to listen to anything else or watch anything other than Thriller :)

Sorry.. lol..when I say really young, that means what it is supposed to mean. If you are under the age of 18 that would be really young to me and then under the age of 30 is young, but not really young. (at least I wanted people to still think of it as me being you when I was under 30). Age is age, you can't change that. So young is young.
Education and maturity can change opinions, but when you are younger, no matter how mature you are there are certain biological factors that effect you and that means your mind too. I was a VERY mature person when I was very young but you learn things as a matter of time and how you feel about them, so it would naturally effect your opinion.
For instance, for the ones who didn't live the through seeing Michael hurt on the Pepsi commercial they can never feel what we felt about his safety and his life. To them, this is history, to us it was something that happened that changed our heart and mind about him and his safety.
If you weren't there when the Jackson 5 first traveled the world, you can not have known how that changed us as a community. The world was accepting African American artists in a way that had never been done. We were changing, that meant our opinions were changing. Can you imagine how our opinions were altered when we first saw Michael make it to MTV? WOW! ...and.. then.. that infamous day.. the moonwalk.
We grew up with him.
We lived through the Black Panther Party rise to power, Martin Luther King Jr.being shot (I was just barely old enough to get this aftermath) and Elvis dying. This has helped shape our opinions about things that someone who didn't live through can't fathom. I am not African American, but I do know that some of my friends from the early 70's suffered through the movement. This changes who you are, this changes your view.
For those of you that are younger, you will tell someone someday about this time in your life and how you did or didn't believe Michael was alive and how it changed you. They will not be able to grasp the full reality of your opinion, even if they are the most mature person for their age in the world. Understand, your opinion is not discounted, it is what you are at this stage of your life, and it is very important. But your views are shaped differently.

Aww...so cool. I wasn't fortunate enough to grow up listening to his music. :( BUT...thank God it will always be around. And good news is that I've turned my younger siblings into fans/admirers too. Hehe. Really...it's very touching. Christian, my 3 yr. old brother can recognize a pic of Michael from when he was 5 to the most recent ones. :D He's so adorable. I have Michael posters all over my walls and when he walks into my room he says, "Hi, Michael Mackons." Can't say Jackson yet. But it's so precious!! Lol.
Oh and I'm 17 btw. Dangerous era. :D And did I mention I LOVE Michael Jackson? Haha. <3

I'm 30 and been a fan of Michael's since I can remember. lol But it doesn't really matter if you're young or old, Michael attracts all ages. My 6 year old nephew and 4 year old nephew always wants me to put his music on when they come over so they can dance. LOL It's really funny when they try to dance like him though... being so young and all, cuz they do the grab and everything. LOL We start laughing and they just give this huge smile. So cute. :)

MY friends all think I', obsessed too! :lol: All I have to do is mention the name Michael Jackson and there eyes glaze over. Now don't get me wrong they all are MJ fans but they just don't appreciate what a great humanatarian he is.

I love your post the ending is exactly what i planned on doing :D I'm going to tell my kids about how he pulled off a hoax and nobody thought it could happen but it did! ;) And they are going to be Mj fans just like me lools maybe even bigger :lol: I highly doubt that tho :? :lol:

For instance, for the ones who didn't live the through seeing Michael hurt on the Pepsi commercial they can never feel what we felt about his safety and his life. To them, this is history, to us it was something that happened that changed our heart and mind about him and his safety.
If you weren't there when the Jackson 5 first traveled the world, you can not have known how that changed us as a community. The world was accepting African American artists in a way that had never been done. We were changing, that meant our opinions were changing. Can you imagine how our opinions were altered when we first saw Michael make it to MTV? WOW! ...and.. then.. that infamous day.. the moonwalk.
We grew up with him.
We lived through the Black Panther Party rise to power, Martin Luther King Jr.being shot (I was just barely old enough to get this aftermath) and Elvis dying. This has helped shape our opinions about things that someone who didn't live through can't fathom. I am not African American, but I do know that some of my friends from the early 70's suffered through the movement. This changes who you are, this changes your view.
For those of you that are younger, you will tell someone someday about this time in your life and how you did or didn't believe Michael was alive and how it changed you. They will not be able to grasp the full reality of your opinion, even if they are the most mature person for their age in the world. Understand, your opinion is not discounted, it is what you are at this stage of your life, and it is very important. But your views are shaped differently.
This is the reason why I love hearing stories about Michael from older members who've actually had the privilige to experience these extraordinary events in history. It must have truly been amazing and I wish I could have experienced it too, this amazing phenomena that will never be repeated again. How depressing is that? I long for old times when things were more romantic and magical and where surprises weren't so rare. Therefore I regularly check the introduction thread, to look for those lovely stories from older members. I'm not as young as the youngest members here on the forum but it saddens me that your friends haven't discovered the magic that is Michael and that some of you feel you have to hide your love for him :( We should all be proud of being his fans because we've embraced the positive side of humanity, i.e. beauty, sensitivity, passion, kindness, compassion, acceptance (and more) to me this is what Michael represents. But I remeber being 13 though it's a tough time and kids can be really mean. My niece is very young and she told me she likes Michael too I'm quite sure she was influenced by me and it makes me very happy :D I was lucky enough to grow up with friends that loved Michael too and we'd have Michael Jackson sessions just sitting around listening to his beautiful voice or dance like crazy :D Michael was dfeinitely my first crush! He's a big part of my life and I will love him for all eternity.

Yeah, my friend is always asking me what's new with Michael, every time she sees me on the computer...as if that's all I do while on here....It is most of what I do. LOL. But still...she has a tendency of easily offending people.
Awww...little kids and Michael...my little sister loves Mikey...I feel so proud. Lol. And whenever she makes a new friend (she's 6) she asks them if they like Michael Jackson. So far, they've all said yes. And she's always telling me about it with a big smile on her adorable little face. :D There IS hope. ;)

Yes!! We should be proud to be Michael fans. We love him and he loves us. There's nothing 'crazy' or 'weird' about it. It is all the things you mentioned above. ;) I know it's hard sometimes...especially in a group of people who don't care for him. But I've found that the best way to get someone to respect your opinions is to set a good example. Michael always said he tries to be like Jesus. That's one of the things I love so much about him. He didn't just say it. He really honestly and wholeheartedly lives life the best way a person could. Not that I know him but I get a basic feel of what he's like. I know he is a fantastic daddy and that he is all about peace and love. That is enough to make a normal girl like me love you. Lol. <3

But yeah, Michael was the first singer i ever heard of in my life. I know Michael from then that i can't remember. I couldn't even talk when i started watching his videos. My family loved him. So i got to know him as i got to know my mom, dad and brother as a toddler. lol.

i was educated by my mom who is a huge fan, about the jackson 5 and stuff and used to watch old jackson 5 stuff so i know all about him, i think i was to young to understand the first allegations but once i got older and learned about it i knew it was all garbage, and i was around for the 2005 allegations and again knew it was trash, i never believed anything they said about him, I learned everything i needed to about Michael and everything i could , and i never paid attention to the crap! . i always knew Michael was a good person with a great heart and until the day i die that is how i will see him, as the great humanitarian who loved children and donated ,millions to charities, as the man who helped kids , and gave them their life back by helping them over come cancer and stuff, the guy who spent so much time caring about others, over his own life and health. the man who forgave everybody and remained so sweet and caring no matter how much bad things people did or said about him. the man who never spoke one bad word about anyone, and who would give up his own life to help someone else, to me hes not a freak, or a wacko jacko , or the weirdo with the fake nose, its all crap! and thats one of the many reasons that i lash out at anyone who speaks bad about him, he is MICHAEL JACKSON, the greatest PERSON to ever live, and i only wish the world had more men like him. GOD spent his time on Michael =) he is a true angel =) till the day i die , thats how i will always see Michael =) so now that i'm done my little speech :) i;m turnng 20 next month =D hehe*

I'm 14, i was born late in 95' (22nd december ), i remember just a few of his clips like scream or earth song, but i was so young. One day, my daddy bought me a we are the world K7, i fell in love with that song but i didn't pay attention to Michael, i could recognize him but i was defenitely not a fan ! Michael seemed so weird to me, and to be honest, i've never been interseted in his music or personality, i believed the stuff that was written on tabloids and what was told on TV, just like the way my parents did. When he died, i was enough old to make a diffenrece between lies and truth, i was devasted even before i knew him, i didn't know why i was crying all the time after his passing away cause he was still a stranger to me. So i decided to learn the truth about him by myself, none was gonna tell me what to do or what to believe. i regretted everything i've done, I felt so guilty after all, i realized how much stupid i was ! I used to cry ALL THE TIME ! It was very very tough for me and epecially when you're alone cause nobody actually understunds you and all your friends just don't care ! Since June, i've learnt so much from Michael, from his music, from his facts, and from the hoax too, i just wanna thank him for teaching me, that's the least i could do ! Sometimes, i feel kinda sad cause i've missed everything ! That's why i put so much hope on the hoax theory, it's like a second chance ! In fact, i don't care about what people would think about me, i just try to not show them my love for MJ, cause they would think i'm crazy or something like that anyway ...
Now, Michal is MY LIFE ! I'm thinking about him every second my life ! That's an amazing feeling, so i'm doing my best to forgive myself, i hope Michael will forgive me one day :cry: ! I feel so sorry for those teen girls in my school that keep listening to that rubish LMAO ! They don't even know who's Michael Jackson !! I've tried so many times to tell my best friend about him, but lady gaga is enough for her ( Oh gosh !!) ! My brother is almost 11 ! And he adores Michael ! He's always moonwalking and dancing ! I'm just proud of him ! =D

Hi! I am a middle Jackson5 era. Can you feel it... Off the wall and then thriller came out when I was in highschool which was really nice timing...I loved the eighties! It is wonderful to see the younger generation loving Michael! He truly is such a gift to this world in so many ways! I do believe he is alive. Experiencing Michael through the years and all that he went through. I see many clues in his works. My intuition told me something was wrong at the news of his passing, things didn't add up. Things have come to a climax and something is up. So here I am and glad to find other people that think and feel the way I do. MJ fans are the best! Love you all!

Seriously! I can think of nothing else! I try to focus on schoolwork, but i'm dancing to one of his songs in my head. :lol:
He's a huge part of my life now, and I worry about him all the time.
But I don't care. He changed my life.
While the girls at my school go to parties, get drunk, high, and pregnant, I stay home and listen to Michael's great music with my real friends. Thank you for being an awesome influence in my life Michael!

In fact, i opened my heart to you all by writing that post, cause i've had the chance to do it ! And as i said people, the closest persons to me just don't care ! There's a lot i would like to tell him, i have a heavy heart by thinking about this, that's why i need to tell all that stuff !

But now I'll be watching Michael videos and he'll walk by and say, "I love him." He really thinks Michael's tight. Just as EVERY COOL person does. ;) So I guess some of me rubbed off on him. Lolz. <3 Everyone in my house (8 total) knows that I beLIEve Michael could still be alive. A couple of them agree but most of them are too young to understand. Lol...my little siblings. :D My mom thinks I'm just way overly obsessed with him and doesn't know why at all. She doesn't see/feel the LOVE I do. <3

I'm in my 30's and I always admired MJ as a performer. I must say that when I grew up as a teenager I was into other artist more like Mary J Blige, Jodeci, SWV, TLC, Aaliyah, R. Kelly, New Edition but I always liked his music, videos, and dance style. As a little kid in the 80's my friend and I watched the making of Thriller and she had MJ posters on her wall. I also had MJ jacket and belt with his face on the buckle. I think I got spanked once with that belt too.lol :lol: I also watched the Wiz movie and loved it. I remember when Bad came out I was like 11yrs. old. I can actually remember being in high school when The way you make me feel came out, Remember the Time and Black or White video. The Black or White video premiered like an event. It was on several channels at the same time. I also recall watching MJ on the 1995 VMA's when he performed. That is my favorite performance of his. I remember being in college when Earth song came out and my friends and I were watching it. My friend was like I really like this video. Also the Stranger in Moscow video. I also bought the dangerous album and the Jackson 5 hit album. I think I rediscovered MJ more since last year. Now watching him I'm like man that guy was the ultimate performer so talented. When you watch his videos you really don't notice other people in the video just him. Now my little 4 year old niece is obsessed with him. She loves to sing and dance and when she watches him she just sit there so quietly. She even knows his songs. That's why so many people like him as an artist because his music and dance passes down to so many generations and cultures. Also his music is clean and has good messages in them. He has fans as young as my little niece to older fans. Now that I think about it he was like one of the artist that was around during my whole time growing up.

Haahaa, don"t worry sweety, i'm exactly like you ! For me, those girls are "blinds" ! They don't actually care about love, or REAL friendship ! Party, boyfriend, popularity ... that's what they look at ! Now, i'm always at home, listening to his music, or hanging on Hoax forum. I must admit that my life REALLY CHANGED ! It's amazing how Michael reached my heart, now i feel different, but in positive way ! It's true that Michael made me see what i couldn't see, now i'm totally aware of the most important things in life, "THE TRUE MEANING", and that's absolutely wonderful :) :D

I was born in 1990,i'm 20,i have been his great fan for all my life, i have inherited this huge love for Michael from my mom,i grew with his music,im a better man cause of his precious messages,i have learnt a lot from them,even though many people around me dont understand this adoration for Michael and sometimes just make jokes about it, i dont care,they miss a lot not knowing Michael;s soul as we do,he is always in my thoughts, in my stuff, im my heart, he is a huge part of me,and im so proud of being his "crazy" fan.

His amazing garce is what I fell in love with, the way he looks at the world and sees it for what it really is. I was brought up to his music as well as many other great people. I'm 46!!!!!!! :o I listen to MJ on my mp3 when I work out at the gym, or on the treadmill at home, I listen to MJ when I'm in the car, when I'm waiting for appointments...but believe me, like the late "Aliyah" said ~ age aint' nothin' but a number...and it's true! What you are is what you feel from inside. That is what molds you.
