Let's compare a legend with a legend... The James Brown's tribute(2007 Grammys) was an actual tribute,it felt like a tribute...to me yesterday,it was NOT the case... it was Michael delevering his message...That's how I feel ;)

This is kind of upseeting if Michael is indeed gone :( Yeah this felt like a tribute. Why do they not give him all the recognition he so fully deserves?! :cry:

I surched for the IM-list of 2007 to see if James Browm was on it, but I can't find it ... :(
If he is on the list, than it's more weird Michael isn't this year.

i agree with you! my view that the tribute was like Michael if he could not be there just last night, not as if he is dead, not if Michael is really dead I'm completely shocked, but I think Michael wanted a message passed yesterday evening ...

James Brown's tribute indeed began with In Memoriam, but we still haven't found if James Brown was also at the IM-list at the end of the Grammy's 2007. If he is also on that list then it's very weird Michael wasn't on it this year.
It's really important that we find a video of the 2007-list, but I can't find a video of it .. :roll:

I've been searching too but unfortunately with no results...however the fact that James Brown's began with the "in Memoriam",and Les Paul 's tribute,last sunday, with the birth year/death year showing on the screen and also he was in the RIP list after,but in was not the case with Michael so,to me that says it all ;)

What the F%$CK! You don't think they should have done that with MJ? They could have brought out his hat and gloves...I feel like crying! What the heck did we see guys? That was no tribute! It was AEG saying "LOOK what Mike was gonna do at his concert....3-D! Now buy TII!" This is what someone who gave their life FOR the Industry and the music gets!!! I am so sad and so upset. Piss on the Grammy's for that!

God I love Christina. She will transend the test of time with her voice.
As for the memorial to James Brown that is a very good point. I think you're right in that they didn't focus so much on MJ being "gone" as did on his message. They could have easily put together video footage of his legacy...they did not.

Think I found something troops... Read this... The "In Memoriam" segment noting people in the music industry who died in the past year concluded with the Godfather of Soul's longtime hypeman Danny Ray draping Brown's sequined robe on the microphone stand as the lights went down." So by this it would seem that the last person on the list that year was James Brown and you can see Danny at the end of the video at the start of this topic

Talking about promoting TII, did you guys react when Lionel introduced the performance? he said a few things about Michael, WATW, and then he talks about the earth song clip and he smiles "cheekily" when talking about the TII concerts and. He continues by saying "which is now out on DVD" - wtf! He might just mean well and wants to encourage people to support Michael but am I the only one that noticed and found it a bit inappropriate since it was supposed to be tribute (not promotion)? :o

I think it wasn't really a promotion. Yeah Lionel said that yeah, that is promotion. But all of this earth song and Prince and Paris their speeches were I think a message of Michael. Heal the world. Lionel talks about we are the world. They sing earth song. Prince talks not really about his father (ofcourse he does talks about his father but you know what I mean ;)) He talked about his message. Heal the world.

Well we did our best to find a video of the IM-list 2007, but unfortunately it's nowhere to find ... ;)
But it's indeed still very strange Michael isn't on the list this year.
(hopefully a good sign for us then ... :) )
