Title: GRAMMYS PINCE, PARIS & "BLANKET" TO PERFORM?!
Post by: Ijustcantstoplovingu on January 27, 2010, 07:08:35 AM
Just came across this on Twitter, its very strange indeed this is not possible!!

Late pop legend Michael Jackson's children may perform at the Grammy Awards Sunday. Jacko, who won 13 Grammys, will get a posthumous lifetime achievement award at the ceremony.

Sources have said that Grammy producers are making a last-minute effort to incorporate Michael Jackson's children, Prince Michael, Paris and Blanket, into Sunday night's tribute to their late father, eonline.com reports.

The Grammys tribute will feature a 3-D mini movie set to Jackson's "Earth Song" that was going to be featured in his “This is It” tour.

"They've been working on everything from them singing to just making an appearance," the Grammys insider says of Jackson's children's possible involvement.

A source close to the Jackson family told E! News that the children "might" be there. The family source confirms that several members of the Jackson family, including father Joe, are scheduled to attend the Grammys.

"They might go, but Kate (Kathryn, their grandmother) is very protective of having them in front of the cameras, so I doubt they will walk the carpet," said the source.

Singers Usher, Carrie Underwood, Jennifer Hudson, Celine Dion and Smokey Robinson are among the confirmed participants in the Jackson tribute.

grammy live @ staples centre where all this saga started

TII Rehearsals = the making of , memorial = death of , grammys = resurrection of??.

grammy is the biggest night in music, could the biggest family in music reunited and reveal the whole thing?

I work at a theater and those real3d glasses are polarized. They will only work with the theater screen. I wanted to be sure they weren't just fooling with us so i took a pair home..and nope..they don't work. I tried them on 2 3d movies I own. I heard Target is giving the blue and red glasses away for free. Thankfully i have those ones from the movies I own since canada does not have a Target store. :D

No, unfortunantely they wont work. Im not even sure where you would buy the plain old red and blue kind. I guess if you could find another movie thats in 3d dvd. I did also see many ppl selling them on ebay but that would only work if you could record the grammys show...i doubt they would ship out in time. I find it very unfair that ONLY Target stores are giving them away.  you could also try this...http://www.metacafe.com/watch/807306/ma ... _and_easy/ (http://www.metacafe.com/watch/807306/make_3d_picture_glasses_fast_and_easy/)

I think it would be horrible to drag the kids in the spotlight like this. Okay, Paris and Prince might want to do this, but Blanket? Look at him when he was on stage for the memorial. Little baby felt so lost there. I thought it was horrible to do that to the kids... especially Blanket.

I cant decide how i feel about the MJ kids performing at the Grammys... it feels all wrong.

I mean.. they are not MJ. Remember how we feel about Lisa Marie Presley... she isnt Elvis and doing this to the kids is setting them up for a fall. The kids will never be successful as their father and i dont think they should be put in the spotlight like this.

MJ always wanted his kids out of the spotlight....   what if MJ really has gone, he wouldnt approve.

I dont think trying to mould the kids into MJs image will work... they are not and never will be their father and thats just the truth.
Look at all the other kids of famous parents... they always fall and go off the rails because they cannot be someone they are not.

Will the King of Pop's kids be singing his praises this weekend?

A source tells E! News exclusively that Grammy Awards producers have been making a last-minute effort to incorporate in some capacity Michael Jackson's children—Prince Michael, Paris and Blanket—into Sunday night's tribute to their late father.

The Grammys tribute will feature a 3-D minimovie set to Jackson's "Earth Song," which was going to be featured in his This is It tour.

"They've been working on everything from them singing to just making an appearance," the Grammys insider says of the little Jacksons' possible involvement.

When contacted for comment, a rep for the Grammy Awards telecast says she wasn't aware of the participation of the Jackson children. A family rep couldn't be reached for comment.

But a source close to the Jackson family tells E! News that as of Tuesday night, the children "might" be there. The source confirms that several members of the Jackson family, including father Joe, are scheduled to attend the Grammys.

"They might go, but Kate [Kathryn, their grandmother] is very protective of having them in front of the cameras, so I doubt they will walk the carpet," says the source.

Usher, Carrie Underwood, Jennifer Hudson, Céline Dion and Smokey Robinson are among the confirmed participants in the Jackson tribute.

That may sound harsh.. but its the truth i feel.  MJ was one of a kind and his children will not match up and asking them to try to will be a major upheavel for them and end in heartache.

I get where you both are coming from. & I feel it's wrong to put the children out there in the spotlight too. But at the same time, who knows if they are "being told" to do this or if they "wanted" to participate in a tribute to the father they loved so much doing what he loved. I'm not saying that they did because I have no idea but Paris & Prince are old enough to have an opinion about such things & to be able to say I want to be a part of the tribute too! & Blanket may want to do it because they want to. You never know for sure what the deal is behind the scene. Nobody knows these kids & how they feel or what they want. So we have no place to say "that's not right" "they don't want this" they are being forced to do this" etc. etc. If them participating is something they want to do, I support them doing it. Now, if it turns out to be someone trying to put them out there in the way you both mentioned then of course it IS wrong & I am against it as well. It all does kind of make me wonder though, if he is still alive because I just don't see the kids performing in the tribute fitting into the hoax at all? Unless maybe they told him they wanted to perform? Guess we'll just have to wait & see what happens. Maybe they'll just be there to accept his award for him. That would be fine to me, then at least Jermaine won't be able to turn it into a "moment" for himself & HIS kids.  :D

I'm kind of struggling with this one. I don't like the thought of them being in the spotlight...but, I think to recieve his "Lifetime Achievement Award", it would be so awesome if Janet or Ms. Katherine would walk on stage with the children and let them accept the award. I am so sick of seeing Jermaine and his kids accepting awards for Prince, Paris and Blankets father. I think THEY should have this moment. JMO

@teine... the point i am trying to make, and probably not very well... is look at Lisa Marie.  She went off the rails massively when she was younger.   Because how do you follow in Elvis footsteps???  She was always compared to him, and asked about him... and she could never live up to that expectation.  It was too huge a task and that is what Mjs children face if they attempt to become performers too...   to follow in MJs footsteps is too huge a task and, comparitevly to other celebs children, it has never been done.  Geniouses and innovators come around once in a lifetime and from the most unexpected places.

I fear these children will be eaten alive in the wake of their father... maybe not now but you wait a few years when they hit their late teens and start to find their way in the World and try to figure out their place and their own identities.

If MJ really has gone, then they will be left floundering without his help and guidance.  Its a sad and tragic prediction but i fear it is one that they are heading towards.

& another thing. No they are not Michael but if they are performing I don't really think it's because they are TRYING to be him. They would be honoring him, their FATHER. Which would be normal for a child to want to honor their father & make him proud. & I'm not really sure anyone else would be trying to make them into mini-Michaels either. I highly doubt Katherine would allow that. They say she is being protective so I'm sure there would have to be a good reason other than trying to make them into superstar children of the King of Pop, for them to be allowed to do this. & also, who knows who else is going to take part, maybe the brothers are going to be a part of the tribute in some way or Janet or Omer or someone & the kids decided they wanted to take part too. Like I said you never know...just wait & see what happens, it might be just a small little thing they take part in & imo that would be fine. Or like I said they might just be there to accept the award after the tribute or something. They won't be walking the red carpet, so no questions/interviews or photo-ops. If they make whatever the kids are doing into a big show thing & it seems forced or put on by Joe or Jermaine or someone crazy like that, then that's different.

@hope - That's what I was thinking too & that's fine to me. Why shouldn't they be able to accept an award for their father? & I am SICK of Jermaine period! lol  :D

@teine.. im not saying they are trying to be like Michael...  but they will suffer in his wake.  He was a supernova.  Hard to live up to that.
Title: Re: The kids might be performing?!!!
Post by: teine21 on January 27, 2010, 06:52:32 PM
@DancingTheDream - I get what you're saying. I understand that, but them performing in a tribute doesn't necessarily mean they are trying to become performers & be huge stars like their father. It could just be that they said we want to participate in this too because someone else from the family is. & from what's been said they already liked to perform before their father "died" so I don't think they are being molded to be like that, I think they just enjoy it. Also, yeah it is very hard for children of huge stars to be in the spotlight, but sadly being watched by the public, the scrutiny & everything else happens whether or not you try to become a star yourself. Aside from Michael their uncless & aunts are pretty famous as well, they will always be known for that, regardless. It comes with being the child of a pop star & part of a famous family, not saying I think it's right, I'm just saying that's something nobody has control over. Michael is a great father to them for protecting them, but kids grow up, he wouldn't be able to do that forever. I think if the case is they wanted to do this for him, that's fine for them as long as it is done for ONLY that reason. & I hope nobody tries to force them into the music business or anything after this. I don't think Katherine will allow it & that's something she DOES have control over as their legal guardian.
Title: Re: The kids might be performing?!!!
Post by: teine21 on January 27, 2010, 06:56:53 PM
@DancingTheDream - That is true. I completely agree, they can't live up to him & they will be compared to him. I wish that wouldn't happen, but unfortunately it will. I'm torn on this, because I think it will be very sweet if the case is that they want to honor their dad & I want them to be able to accept his award. But at the same time, there are cruel people out there who will say things about them like you said & they will be compared to their father: the GREATEST of all time.   :|
Title: Re: The kids might be performing?!!!
Post by: Kenzie on January 27, 2010, 07:48:47 PM
My view point on this is that the only way the family (Katherine in particular) would let those kids up on stage to perform is if they were up there with their FATHER. I think either way it is a deciding point, I don't think they would put the kids up there in the spotlight and have them talk about their father being dead unless he is actually gone, I feel that if they get up their and talk about their father and MJ doesn't come back that night that he is really gone. But on the other hand it could go the other way they could get up their and re-introduce their father to the world. Does that make any sense : )

Just a thought....

I don't think he'll "come back" at the Grammy's. However, he may have been planning this & is a part of it all. & as for the kids. It isn't confirmed yet whether they will be there or not. So we'll just have to wait & see what happens. It says that producers for the Grammy's are working out how much participation the kids will have. I read somewhere, can't remember where, that one of the exec. producers of the Grammy's is a longtime associate of MJ's. So maybe, if he really is alive, he is well aware of what's going on & is behind all of this somehow? I'm not sure they'll be performing, more than likely they will accept his award or something along those lines. But if they do perform, I am sure Katherine wouldn't let them do it if she didn't support what they will be doing. & if Michael is alive, same goes for him as well.

I've just read on Contact Music that they are appearing on the show and they will perform.  I am confused--did Midnight MLK already tweet that and if yes, when?  Remember Geraldo's interview with MJ. Michael stated that the kids wanted to perform.

I think its Kenny Ortega who is the "long time associate of MJ" who is one of the producers.. he has put on his twitter that he will be there.

No, I'll have to look for the thing I read. It said some other guy who is one of the Exec. Producers for the Grammys, was a "longtime associate" of MJ's.

In one article I saw, it said "longtime associate". His name is Ken Ehlrich & sorry he is the Co-Executive Producer of the Grammys. He's worked w/ Michael for 30 years, on Grammy performances. Here's one article someone posted, couldn't find the very first one I read w/ the specific words "longtime associate" though.

Michael Jackson will be a focal point of this year's Grammys award show, with an unprecedented posthumous tribute. The Grammys will broadcast a 3-D clip the singer made for his hit "Earth Song", a video that was to be integral to his comeback concerts in London but never happened because of his death.

Usher, Celine Dion, Carrie Underwood, Jennifer Hudson, and Smokey Robinson will perform alongside the clip, which will be the first time an awards show will feature 3-D.

"Whenever we would do a show with (Jackson), the first thing he would say to me was, ' How can we do something we (have) never done before? And now we're doing something that hasn't been done before," said Ken Ehrlich, the Grammy telecast's co-executive producer, who worked with Jackson for almost 30 years.

Ehrlich produced the televised memorial to Jackson to last year. He was with the singer the night before he died----and that's when he first saw the 3-D clip of "Earth Song".

While a part of the clip was shown in the recent movie documentary, "This Is It," Ehrlich says the Grammys will show the full piece in 3-D. When he saw it with Jackson that night, Ehrlich said the singer was moved to tears.

Ehrlich decided to use the five-minute 3-D clip at the Grammys to produce a show-stopper worthy of Jackson , who provided the awards show with some of its most memorable moments, including his then-historic eight Grammys wins in 1984.

"The promise is this is going to be pretty spectacular," he said. Viewers can get free 3-D "Grammy" glasses from Target stores nationwide through Jan. 31, when the 52nd annual Grammy Awards will air live from the Staples Center in Los Angeles on CBS. Ehrlich says TV viewers can see the clip without the glasses, but won't see the 3-D effect.

Jackson will be honored with a Lifetime Achievement Award from the Recording Academy during the show.

"This is the one award from us that Michael never received," said Recording Academy President and CEO, Neil Portnow.

I think we have made a connection here.

see this thread also:  viewtopic.php?f=17&t=3985 (http://michaeljacksonhoaxforum.com/phpbb2/viewtopic.php?f=17&t=3985)

Michael Jackson may have declined an appearance at last year’s Grammy Awards, but he’ll make it into this year’s program—in 3D, that is.

A star-studded production number has been planned for the Jan. 31 show that would bring back the late pop star, if not physically then at least in spirit, to the Grammy stage where he’s had stellar performances in the past—most notably a highly charged rendition of “Man In The Mirror” backed by a gospel choir in 1988.

Jackson had reportedly promised the show’s producers last year that he would make an appearance the following year.

Hopes for a Jackson production number were dashed when the King of Pop suddenly died on June 25, 2009, just days away from flying to London to begin dress rehearsals for his would-be concert residency at the O2 Arena.

Grammys show producer Ken Elrich recalls meeting Jackson the night before he died to watch the “Earth Song” film clip that would have been used for the concerts. As it stands, the beautifully shot short film has become one of the two visual centerpieces that figured in the concert movie “This Is It” instead.

As a fitting honor to Jackson, the producers of the show rejected the notion of having other artists perform Jackson’s song. Instead, the 3D film of “Earth Song” with Jackson’s 3D image will be accompanied by performers such as Jackson friend and mentor Smokey Robinson and Jackson fan Usher; as well as Carrie Underwood, Jennifer Hudson, and Celine Dion, as reported.

This number could potentially be one of the most memorable to be put together by the Grammy Awards producers since this is the first time an awards show would feature 3D.

I've just read on Contact Music that they are appearing on the show and they will perform.  I am confused--did Midnight MLK already tweet that and if yes, when?  Remember Geraldo's interview with MJ. Michael stated that the kids wanted to perform.

MidnightMLK first started mentioning the show i think sometime in december...i don't remember exactly when, but I do know that it was before it was announced that the kids would be there

UPDATE: I just turned on Larry King because I wanted to catch any updates on Haiti & it scrolled across the bottom of the screen that the kids will be ACCEPTING MJ's award. It didn't ssay anything about performing. I think it's great that they are being allowed to accept on behalf of their dad. It's so sweet & they are the ones who should accept for him. I wonder who will speak one or all? Everyone can feel better now though they aren't being pushed into the business. Thank goodness!

So who's this Midnightmlk? Look at these odd tweets...

Proof will come.

So much to do tonight... Sometimes I get scared, but then I remember what he told me. I cried last night, but I'm better today. Home now.

He said there are stages to it: shock, denial, anger, & acceptance, & that acceptance will be like nothing we've seen/felt, & I believe him.

He said there will be issues raised, but they'll clear up afterwards because of the people he knows, or something. I guess that's good.

I'm getting impatient...so ready for the drama to be over so things can get back to normal. It's coming to a head. I'm so ready for this.

And he/she keeps talking about the "children" all the time. Even a "Ken" which I believe to be Kenny Ortega is also mentioned... Who is this? And is this person giving us some clues?
Please someone answer me  :(

I wrote about it on the previous page :D  Whoever that person is, I've started to believe that s/he is someone from inside because s/he has been talking about the "show" and how kids are getting ready for it and days later we learn that MJ kids are going to accpt the award at Grammys :D So I think MidnightMlk is someone from inside ;) :)

I think that too.
Just now I remembered that a month ago , actually I think it was before  Christmas , that someone said to follow Jenuary and that something big  will come up  about the kids.
And I was wondered what it could possibly be. And now this  :o  :o
Can anyone else remember this and who was the informer ??? 8-)

WOW...this is getting interesting. This MidnightMlk person really said all of this stuff in December? Hmm...That's sooo weird, normally I'd think this person is probably just playing around & trying to hype us all up about nothing. But how would just anybody, if they were trying to pull our legs, know to say the "kids" are getting ready for the "show" before the news even broke about them attending the Grammys? I think you all are right, this person could be an "insider".   Just when a lot of people thought things had gotten quiet & were worried. All of a sudden, here we are back at strange again lol. Even the whole Elrich guy meeting w/ Michael the day before his "death" & planning this but us just now hearing about it. That's interesting too. Michael sure was a busy guy that day...

Midnightmlk is someone very close to "the kids". If those children he/she mentions are MJ's then you would think of someone like Grace the nanny or Omer...?
BUT, on the other hand, this individual tweeted about endind the scripts... maybe the scripts Prince and Paris are going use on Grammy's (?) I don't think Grace or Omer are doing that, honestly.

This is very strange... I'll keep following this person.
