describes a “blue velvet lined ‘prometheus’- style coffin” (para 5) that had been ordered for the memorial.

Michael Jackson's $1 Million Funeral Expenses - TIME
11 Nov 2009 ... Al Sharpton speaks at Michael Jackson's funeral service at Forest Lawn Memorial ... Jackson's luxury casket (style 3-99 Prometheus): $25000 ...

The casket (not a coffin) is called a Promethean Bronze (not Prometheus). They are made to order by a company in Batesville Indiana.  I couldn't find info on their website about styles http://www.batesville.com/whatwedo/buri ... tal/bronze (http://www.batesville.com/whatwedo/burialcaskets/metal/bronze)

Promethean Bronze caskets listed on the sites of various funeral homes have models starting Z94-...  - see near the bottom of the main page.   http://www.perryfunerals.com/index.php/ ... le_caskets (http://www.perryfunerals.com/index.php/grantley_perry_sons/batesville_caskets)

The Promethean Bronze casket that is lined in blue is the Z94-665.  Go down the page to Promethean Caskets
http://www.finalcareconsultants.com/cr_caskets.htm (http://www.finalcareconsultants.com/cr_caskets.htm)

I haven’t found any Promethean Bronze caskets, style 3-99, on any funeral industry websites.  Was this meant to be a clue like the $3-99 on the tag of the bloody shirt?

The Promethean caskets need to be pre-ordered because it takes twelve weeks to individually make them - go to para 6.

Maybe they’re named Promethean after the mythical Prometheus because Pro- means forethought or thinking ahead.  I’ve read in a few places that Michael ordered the casket after James Brown’s funeral (which would explain why it was ready for the memorial) but that is not what Dr Thome says in this interview.

The Promethean Bronze caskets are the best- so it makes sense that someone like Michael Jackson would be buried in one (if he really was dead).  But could there be anything more to style 3-99 Prometheus being put in that way?  The 3-99 first, then Prometheus?

These links are about the myth of Prometheus.

It's weird that Michael bought a casket before he died, it's like buring your own grave.

BTW Michael said, I don't wanna die. I want to live forever.
-Therefore he would never buy a casket, except for a hoax.

Yes but Dr Thome said the brothers ordered it -  why did he say that?
It could not have been made in time if they had.

These domains were registered on the day of the memorial - 07-07-09 - by Greenebaum Doll & McDonald Attorneys http://www.greenebaum.com/ (http://www.greenebaum.com/):
promethean-casket.com
prometheancasket.com
prometheus-casket.com
prometheuscasket.com

Found them there, but this page is one day late - the whois-lookup says 07-07-2009
http://dailydomains.org/domain/20090708/page/138 (http://dailydomains.org/domain/20090708/page/138)

Why does a law firm buy the domains for Michael Jackson's casket on the day of his memorial?
