i don't understand whY?

I actually find it a stranger thing that 'This is it' is nominated in Outstanding Motion Picture instead of Outstanding Documentary (Theatrical or Television)

MICHAEL JACKSON's MEMORIAL and the THIS IS IT film were both nominated today for NAACP Image Awards Bravo MICHAEL, Long live the KING!

"Bravo Michael"? For starring in the Memorial? O for directing it? Hm...
-
wow! that is just strange....
-
weird to say the least..............
but good!!! :D
-
 That is freaking crazy. I have never heard of a Memorial being nominated for an award before. :? Isnt it kind of disrespectful ? Its someones "death" for heavens sake.
-

I've been covering the television and entertainment industries professionally for years.
The NAACP is just trying to acknowledge Michael as much as possible by including the televised Memorial Service wherever they can. That's how it works with awards programs: if there's something you really want to nominate and there's no proper category for it, you force it wherever it will fit the best if you can get away with it. Sometimes new award categories are created later to prevent the same problem in the future.
Also, technically speaking in a TV-industry sense, Michael's Memorial Service was an actual and very complex television production, complete with many of the same staff positions and production requirements you find in televised variety shows and specials.

I'm glad the NAACP and the Image Awards are honoring Michael in this way, along with This Is It. However, it's not really that odd the film isn't in the documentary category.
Switching categories like that happens sometimes when a documentary is very popular or successful. The general public tends to pay less attention to documentaries because regular movies are more mainstream and accessible to most people.
So, categorizing This Is It as a movie will help it get more appropriate attention, so to speak, since it was marketed and perceived more as a traditional movie than a traditional documentary. Putting it in the movie category will also allow the other documentaries to stand out more and not get overshadowed by a more well-known and mainstream feature like This Is It.

Yeah, I'm glad they're doing it this way too!
I realize, it's fruitless to search for clues everywhere, and am convinced that a large part of what we consider oddities/clues are not hoax-related per se and their oddness is a matter of perception. And all we can do is to filter all that suff from an objective perspective. But the problem is, once you believe in a hoax and are not aware of how and why it was ACTUALLY done, it's very hard to be objective! =(
-
thank you for clearing it up, Lorrie :)
so basically this isn't really much of a clue.
wow, i suck at this, lol.

But where is the funeral, I think they missed that part, but wait hasn´t Timor Steffens mentioned:
[attachment=0:cwfjl7cd]Sneak peak.JPG[/attachment:cwfjl7cd]
Ah, FUNERAL in THIS IS IT. and wasn´t there a picture at the memorial service which has shown This is it... So we can find everything in THIS IS IT (Memorial Service, Funeral and the movie, great :D :D :D :D )

 That is freaking crazy. I have never heard of a Memorial being nominated for an award before. :? Isnt it kind of disrespectful ? Its someones "death" for heavens sake.
I also find this disrespectful.
I live in the UK.. could you imagine Princess Dianas televised funeral being up for an award at a television awards show? Ridiculous.
Only in La La Land.

But why it never has been done before Michael...? This is really strange and I do not like it, if Michael is really dead, then it is not right (to my humble feelings :( ).
-
Lorrie-what do you do? Just outof curiosity.

O_o ???? I've never heard of anything like this before... strange.. :?: :?

Why MJ's Memorial is the question? This is the first time in history that something like this has ever happened. MJ was directing this all along and behind the scene since Jun 25th. I wonder what other oddities will happen this year in this new decade? I will floored if the Memorial actually wins. Keep the Faith!
-
That is truly strange.

This does not make me happy which given the circumstances you would think it would! Nor does it make me feel sad, after reading this I am honestly (and surprisingly) feeling rather resentful and irritated! If Hollyweird is in on this (as I am beginning to feel as if far too many ppl are in on it), and this is all some type of social experiment, I am afraid I am going to give
up on the world  !
We speak about Michael possibly being a victim of mind control...well I feel as if I have free willingly signed on for this 'great adventure' but unknowingly gave them control of my thoughts! I am unable to wake up or go to sleep without checking multiple sites for an update; search endlessly for clues and am never empty handed as I associate everything with Michael in one way or another; am more confused and depressed then I have ever been in my life (and I have been through some sh%t) largely due to the many paths promising to answer our questions but instead promoted fear and raised more questions; have developed OCD to the point that I actually get angry with myself because one minute it is 10 pm and your thinking 'ok I'll close the laptop in a minute just check twitter/youtube/hoax sites one more time' the next thing you know its 3 am and you need to wake up in 3 hours!!!!! Believe me, I have tried to walk away, to busy myself, to engage in other passions...all to no avail! My mind, heart, and soul have been taken hostage and even if they were returned to me, they will never be the same!
Will this be a blessing or will this be hell?
(sorry for the rant, I am just trying to find my balance in all of this  )

You are not alone! I have not had proper sleep since June last yr... but there are so many threads to this tangled web, it is hard to find the time to search all. This memorial nomination is the best so far and Kenny O's comment is just too much.
Well, let me just say to Michael..."Congrats on your nomination for your memorial"
OK, I am ready for that padded cell now! :?
-
Dont Worry I have Become Hostage To Its 5 In The Mornign Now And I Have To Get Up At 9 In The Morning To Register For College Classes And Then I Am Going To Be On Here Looking For More Details Until Work At 2 pm To 2Am And Then Get Back On Here To Check Again Only To Lose Track Of Time Once Again...But I Still Find It Odd How They Are Doing This...It Hurts My Feelings In A Strange Way
-
Well I think if it was a real memorial this would be sooo wrong on so many levels. Bit sick really.
-
Wow this is indeed strange, more then strange.

Well if the Memorial wins, the award will probably be handed to one of the directors, Gregg Gelfand or Kenny Ortega... or both.
-
Hopefully Michael will walk up on stage and accept the award.

Initially I questioned why the Memorial was being nominated however I now undertsand why.
To many people, a Memorial is overshadowed with sad feelings because of someone's death. Actually a Memorial is an honorable tribute to someone's life and how that life was lived.
I took a peak at the NAACP Image awards website and noticed something. Each nominee is listed along with their ONE network that presented the program. Michael's Memorial was listed differently since it could not quite display the worldwide listing of countless networks that aired the Memorial. It dawned on my why this program is being nominated. Aside from an international political event or horrible natural disaster NO other event would capture worldwide attention than the tribute to the life of Michael Jackson. At what other time would major revenue generating networks put all programming on hold to air an event? Michael Jackson commanded such attention. That is a feat all unto itself.
The tribute that the Image Awards is paying toward Mj with this nomination is not a disrespectful exploitation but an acknowledgement of the man and his legacy. Michael Jackson could stop time ...so to speak..and capture the world's attention. He did it again on July 7, 2009. His positive impact on the world is what is being recognized... not the sadness of losing him.

Absolutely agree with you. To say Bravo Michael...in other words thank you that you are dead and has make me more successful than I was. It is sad to do that, if Michael is dead he cannot see it, so why say it. Many people are sad that Michael is dead and he mentions that.
To me death is the worth thing on earth and it is unbelievable how some people are dealing with that.
but if MJ is not dead it makes sense why he has commented like that...
-
maybe he is saying congrats because michael is still not forgotten and people still love him :D who knows
-
This is very good possible, but still weird to do this. It just feels not right and makes more sad that he is/might be not on earth anymore.
