Frank Dileo was laid to rest today in Pittsburgh by family and friends. Michael Jackson’s long time manager is a beloved figure in the music business, dating back not only to “Thriller” and “Bad,” but to Frank’s stints at other record companies. Jackson executors John Branca and John John McClain were not present, but Frank’s long time music lawyer and friend, Joel Katz, was there. So were delegations of Frank’s old cronies from Columbia and Epic Records including Lary Stessel and John Doelp. We had a nice time with Al Bunetta, the Nashville music manager and partner of singer John Prine.

The night before the funeral, a gang assembled at Lidia’s in downtown Pittsburgh where many toasts were made and lots of stories were told. Michael Jackson fans would love to have been flies on the wall for that session. Wednesday morning’s service was led by Dileo’s cousin, a priest from Cleveland. who spoke eloquently about everyone’s “Uncle Tookie.”

Over 150 people went on to lunch after the internment, where more stories were shared at D’Imperio’s. Friends from Nashville and Las Vegas made it in, too, including 18 year old singing sensation Manika, whom Frank was managing. She’s already got a hot single out on Sony since Frank became ill last winter. He’d be proud.

At the end of the internment, by the way, one of Frank’s cousins played John Denver singing “Take Me Home Country Roads” on a boom box. It was the first hit single Frank had had a hand in. There wasn’t a dry eye in the house.

Thank you for sharing this with us.

I know it will happen to us all one day, but I can't help but think there are a lot of people close to Michael dying these past two years. Yes, we are aging but we aren't ancient yet. I don't want to be disrespectful but it's all so confusing and sad. Sad because these are long time pillars of strength in Michael's life and now they are gone, if they are truly gone.

RIP Frank. I pray you are in Heaven where you are now in a perfect form, no more pain, no more sorrow.

Blessings.

My sincere condolences go out to his family and friends. I pray that the God of all comfort, would comfort them with the same comfort that I myself have been comforted with. Again Michael I ask you to remember that earth has no sorrow that heaven cannot heal.

Blessings

What I don't understand is Randy months ago said on twitter that he came back from the hospital, where he went to say condolences to DiLeo's family. After it was missunderstood, and people thought DiLeo died, because I never ever heard someone saying "condolences" to someone who is still alive, Randy said that it was taken wrong, that he meant his thoughts are with DiLeo family, it's a hard moment, etc., and that he was alive. And now, no word from Randy. Jackie was the only one in the family who said (on twitter) "rest in peace". If Randy was so close to DiLeo's family, then no words? But he said "condolences" when DiLeo was in hospital. And if he went to the hospital to be with his family, it means he cares about him and he is close to DiLeo's family. You don't go to see someone in hospital just because.

This whole silence is suspicious to me and I don't understand what's hapening, but it is something shady. DiLeo was at UCLA on June 25 2009, he hugged Jermaine, he gave interviews. And none of the Jacksons said a single word about his death. And it's not like they are private persons. Almost all of them twitt daily, sometimes the most insignificant things, like LaToya, Tito, even Jermaine and Jackie. And Randy, as I said above- if he went to the hospital, then he is close to the family. If he wrote "condolences" when DiLeo was sick, then why not share your thoughts now too? At least a "may he rest in peace".
