Title: Chris Brown Pretends To Be Michael Jackson Again
Post by: all4loveandbelieve on August 23, 2011, 04:53:08 PM
If there were elections held to appoint the new Michael Jackson (as if such a thing could ever be), Chris Brown would be Tracy Flick. Brown has made it perfectly clear he is more than willing to take on the responsibility of being the new King Of Pop by attempting to impersonate Michael time and time again. There’s his teary MJ tribute, the video for “Human Nature”-sampling “She Ain’t You”, and now Breezy dons the superstar’s signature red jacket for a Jackson-off on sketch comedy show In The Flow with Affion Crockett. Ugh. Enough.

There’s no denying Chris Brown is a truly gifted performer and an incredible dancer, but it’s going to be a serious uphill climb for him if he wants to convince the world he can be as beloved an artist as Michael was (and still is).

CHRIS BROWN NEEDS TO PRACTICE DAY AND NIGHT 365 DAYS A YR IN ORDER TO BE LIKE MICHAEL, AND EVEN AT THAT HE WILL NEVER BE AS PERFECT AS MICHAEL JACKSON..

Is this the same Chris Brown that beat up Rihanna?  Enough said.

Chris Brown can never live up to the legend.  For starters, he doesn’t have the right spirt, neither enough compassion nor the love of the whole of the planet in his heart.  Then there’s everything else.

Like Chris  says in his own song, so be it, dear Michael… "he ain’t you”  lolol/
And he never will be.

Go easy on him! I'm not really a fan of his, but he's still young and learning. He won't be the new king of Pop. Shit, MJ doesn't even care about that title except for the love behind it. But I don't think he gets some big ego trip out of it. The media seems to continue on with it, not MJ. Chris Brown just needs to be himself, not Mike.

Chris Brown??? Really???  I thought the new MJ was going to be Usher!

Seriously, what a big ego these singers have, to compare themselves with the KING?!? Michael was, IS and always going to be the ONLY KING of MUSIC and the entertainment business. When are they going to learn this? Or are they ever going to learn this? Maybe their little brains are too smoked with the temporary little fame and glory they have!

I’m just sick of hearing or watching these singers and dancers thinking that that’s all it takes to be “the next” Michael Jackson… singing and dancing.  They obviously don’t even have a real clue who Michael really was.  They know only the surface of the man.  Nothing about the substance.  And that’s kind of sad to me confused/

Was?.. lol jk
I feel the same way. Its more than just the music, the lyrics and the dancing. His life is unique and he's made every day worth while. He doesn't follow trends like the rest, he creates trends just being himself. But the media likes us to believe that there is only this one dimensional, strange side to Michael when home movies and friends and family prove them wrong. but those who say so & so is 'the next King of Pop' are just instigating   and should be ignored. Maybe then they'll go back to their empty lives and concentrate on their own flaws instead of blowing people's spot up.

MJ does not abuse women.. Chris Brown does, and for me he is a nobody. A man who has to abuse a woman is a puss.. He needs violence to make himself understood what a f@#@#@ LOSER.. WITH A CAPITAL L.  HE WILL NOT EVEN HAVE A FINGERNAIL EQUAL TO MICHAEL, LIKE I SAID EARLIER HE NEEDS TO PRACTICE NOT ONLY DANCING BUT BEING A HUMAN BEING FIRST.

If Chris Brown donates his entire tour proceeds to charity ( like MJ did w/ his $ from the Victory Tour) than he can be the next KOP. MJ is much more than singing and dancing.

As a woman who has lost an Aunt to violence, its a bit hard for me to have sympathy for any man who abuses a woman. But anger is the devil's art. We have to let go of it and bury it. Forgiveness and Love for each other is the only way to move forward. If Chris Brown wants to be King of Pop, he can! Its a pretty heavy crown to wear and I'm sure its not all glitz and glamour. But we should be confident enough to not let little things like this get to us. Who cares? I've been a Michael fan for a long time and I can't even count how many singers they have called 'the new King of Pop'. Like I said, its all just someone instigating to get a rise out of people. Gossip creates circulation and people always come back for more. Remove yourself from it and see how your day improves! Like Michael, we have to build an immunity to this type of stuff. I'm sure MJ is humble enough to let Chris Brown have the title. After all, its just a title. Its impermanent. What counts is what good we do with our lives, not what names we make for ourselves. Thats all material and superficial and shouldn't even be celebrated. Michael is just Michael, the man who embodies his art and the creative process is the true gem.

As I've already stated before...there is no NEXT Michael Jackson.  We're still enjoying the ONLY one there ever will be.  ;)

If any of these other performers put in as much effort and were half as skilled, talented (and magical) they wouldn't need to use so much of Michael to grab our attention.  They would be able to hold it on their own...with their own style.  In the beginning (after 6/25) I believe that the performances were mostly genuine out of respect for the master.  Now I'm afraid that it's nothing more than trying to garner favor with the fan base so that it translates into money in their own pockets.  Michael "studied the greats and became greater" and I truly believe that the bar he set is unreachable.  He sacrificed so much to be the BEST...the total entertainer...and proved over and over that his love for all humanity was boundless.  This newer crop of performers just don't leave me feeling that they have what it takes to be anything close to a Michael Jackson.

No argument from me about MJ being irreplacable, but I do have questions to whether Chis actually committed that offence. It seems Chris Brown has been stigmatized forever in people's eyes by the media report that he bashed Rhianna. I'm not convinced he did it to be honest. It just reminds me of MJ and the allegations. As soon as you'd mention Michael, in the past, someone would bring up pedophilia. Now it's being repeated with Chris. Here is a link to a very old post about ritual abuse and the marks on Rhiana's mug shot. At least have a look at it so we can be informed and then make up our own minds and not what was reported to us by the media.

I agree - thanks for posting the link on the thread I did!  :)

Michael stands on his own and I believe many artists strive to be "like Mike".  It's natural and to be expected but even they know they will never be Michael, that there will never be another Michael.

And about all the bad press Chris got for what he supposedly did to Rihanna, remember that the media more often than not, is full of LIES.  People turned viciously on Chris like they did with Michael.  We know they were lying about Michael, why wouldn't they lie about Chris?  Rihanna was hurt, yes, but by whose hands??  And has anyone noticed how dark and symbolic her videos have become since?
Title: Re: Chris Brown Pretends To Be Michael Jackson Again

Firstly, I doubt Chris ever said he would be the Next King of Pop. I have not seen an interview of him thinking he can take over that part of music.

This is the media's doing and their managers's who release these highly unflattering articles about them. I think I am more pissed with Will.i.am saying that Bieber is going to be the next KOP as he was Michael's friend.

Well we still have to see if Usher, Chris Brown, Justin Bieber or even Beyonce (yes Jay Z saying she was the second coming of MJ, sickened me), will ever have that long a career. Remember Michael's worst album released 30 years into his career, still sold more than other albums released in that decade. And he is someone we will never forget.

So think about how many songs of these singers you will remember or want to hear after 30 years. I count a few, but Michael had a double disc worth of hits that no one can forget. So even though everyone screams that so and so could be the next KOP, its all just a marketing ploy and nothing is going to come of it.

Its just like the Katy Perry record breaking, do you think you would remember her songs a few years later? So they try underhand means to get her to number one, like remixes and massive discounts for the singles. If Michael had known this was going to happen, I am sure he would have done a lot with his Bad album. Even Thriller, the other singles were not so well marketed.

I say the KOP should go to the person who has sold the most number of albums (no one is ever going to get to break that record), the most compassionate and charitable person and the person who touched all kinds of people all over the world. I know the local grocery store owners in my third world country also know Michael, and they sure as hell don't know any of the others mentioned in my post. So dream on all you runner ups!

I agree Andrea, I have always thought Chris was not really responsible for what happened to Rihanna. Maybe they brainwashed her into believing it was so. And he of course has no recollection of it.

Rihanna has become really evil since that happened. Her transformation actually scared me. Chris on the other hand has become really angry. Maybe he knows he was victimised so is letting off steam now. He is a very good dancer though, and keeps pushing himself to the limit each time. While Michael was all about style, Chris is all about energy and gymnastics, two different dance genres. But he does the best MJ dancing from all the singers left, so yes if they do use him for more tributes, I am fine by it. He has always adored Michael and Michael liked him too.

Great post (reminder) RK...and I hope members at least click on the link and read that perspective.  After everything we've learned in the last two years...about what goes on behind the scenes in the world...what Andrea posted should, at the least, give everyone pause.

As Andrea wrote in her post...we may never know the truth.  But it is because of that very FACT that people should not be so quick to judge anyone....or, worse yet, insult or diminish them based on something you can't know for certain is true.  It's not our place to judge Chris Brown or anyone...and, trust me, I know it's hard not to judge...we've been 'programmed' for it.

We've been 'studying' Mike, indepthly, for 2 years now...and hopefully have learned some lessons from him.  Mike showed us glimpses of how to transcend judgement of others...he modelled it for us when he was asked about Eminem's derogatory comments.  He responded by saying he respected him as an artist and wished him well (and then, of course, ensured that he'd be paid every time Eminem opened his mouth again  8-).  And no offence to Eminem...I think he's come a long way since then.  Shit, Mike even found the good in Hitler...and yet, we're still so quick to judge people without even knowing the truth.

With L.O.V.E. always.

I agree that we should judge these performers on the basis of their artistry and not what the tabloids say.  I find it ironic that Rhianna is singing about whips and chains exciting her in light of the allegations against Chris Brown.  And I thought his tribute to MJ was sweet and respectful.  And he is a FABULOUS dancer.  Whenever I'm in a down mood, I can watch his 3X video and I'm dancing in the living room.  No harm trying to be the new king of pop if it suits him.  I think Michael has relinquished that crown in favor of other efforts more in keeping with who is now.  But who knows!

That was honestly pretty funny! They are no MJ dancers, but they are good comedians, that's all! I'm sure if MJ saw this, he was laughing his head off.  Didn't MJ say he was kicking with the wrong foot?

I think that there is something about Michael that goes beyond the numbers and records beaten (thanks to hard work)...it's something not palpable, something that cannot be counted or measured in any way because it's the essence of who he is as a human being that gives his work such a worldwide appeal. Michael has a special light inside that shines in a certain vibration and this, cannot be imitated.

Speaking of Katy Perry and breaking Michael’s records, let’s work together to make sure that does not happen.

Please purchase Smooth Criminal on I-tunes before this Saturday. The reason is
stated below in an e-mail I received from MJ Truth.

Katy's fans are trying to ensure that she beats Michael's record for most #1s from a single album.
DO NOT PURCHASE KATY’S  'LAST FRIDAY NIGHT'. Please purchase Smooth
Criminal.

It's VERY IMPORTANT TO MICHAEL'S LEGACY. I have 3 or 4 Smooth
Criminals, but I WILL BE PURCHASING A COUPLE MORE THIS WEEK to save Michael.
They are yrying to use back door tactics to beat Michael.  We will show them.

Pass this info to ONLY MICHAEL JACKSON FANS. We don't want outsiders to know
what we are doing.  The following is the e-mail I received from MJTruth this morning.

Thank you for passing this along.

      *****************************************************************

Dear Cass,

Michael Jackson was the first artist in history to earn FIVE number one singles
from one album, "Bad," on the Billboard Hot 100 list. In the last few weeks,
his historic record has been tied by Katie Perry. Her album "Teenage Dream" has
tied Michael's record with the song "Last Friday Night (T.G.I.F.). We have an
opportunity to get a 6th song, "Smooth Criminal," from Michael's "Bad" album to
number 1.

Between 1979 and 1980, Michael became the first artist ever to earn four number
one singles from his album, "Off The Wall." He surpassed this record with five
number one singles from his album, "Bad," between 1987 and 1988. The five songs
to go to number one from this album are "I Just Can't Stop Lovin' You," "Man In
The Mirror," "Dirty Diana," "Bad," and "The Way You Make Me Feel." Another song
from the album, "Smooth Criminal," reached a high of number 7 on the charts.

Number ones on the Billboard Hot 100 List are determined by sales of a song in a
7 day period. The time period is from Sunday to Saturday in a specific week. We
need to keep Michael in the lead for the most number one singles from an album.
There is a current effort underway to get Michael's song "Smooth Criminal" to
number 1 by the end of the sales period which is this Saturday, August 27, 2011.
This song as released in its original form is still eligible to go to #1. Please
help in this effort by doing the following:

1. Go to Itunes.com and download the song "Smooth Criminal" even if you already
have it.

www.ITunes.com

2. Do not purchase Katie Perry's song, "Last Friday Night (T.G.I.F.)

You may have already been alerted to this effort. Thank you to those of you who
have already participated by downloading "Smooth Criminal." Thank you in advance
to those of you who have not done so yet.

If you discuss this with other Michael Jackson supporters, please do not do so
in a way that will alert others outside the Michael Jackson community of our
plans.

He was, is and will always be the one and only king of pop and entertainment that this world has ever seen, that’s it!!!! Chris Browns, Ushers and Justin Biebers will never ever come close to MJ!!!!

Quote
NEW YORK -- Fresh off a show-stopping performance at last night's MTV Video Music Awards, multi-platinum recording artist Chris Brown graces the September 2007 cover of GIANT Magazine. Brown opens up about childhood drama, his biggest celebrity crush, his desire to fill Michael Jackson's shoes, and the pressure to stay on top.

ON MICHAEL JACKSON
"Michael Jackson sold twenty-five million albums, so I wanna get to at least twelve. Michael (Jackson) said to me, 'being able to dance and sing; that's rare. Nobody can do it - only you, me and a couple of others. Keep working and dream big.' Michael Jackson told me to dream big!"

He never really said he wanted to be the next KOP. He has always respected Michael and showed support for him throughout his career.

I agree and yes although this incident with Rihanna happened, there are always two sides to the story, the media came down on him pretty hard, and he made a mistake, I'm not condoning what he did but, it does seem that there is this kind of taking of sides by the media without getting the whole story.

That's good to hear this about him.

I agree.  People have all bought the story on this, but Rhianna has done some pretty sketchy videos since then, so it makes me wonder if he might have been set up.  Since we can never know for sure in most of these situations, I prefer to stick to the talent and let people's personal lives remain just that.

In the meantime, he is a fabulous dancer.....and his video 3X is a great tribute to his idol.

Man....Breezie just needs to be HIMSELF! There will NEVER, and I mean NEVER be another duplicate of MJ.  NEEEEEEVVVVVVVVVVVEEEEEEEEEEERRRRRRRRRRRR!!!!!! /toldya/. NOT ONCE has MJ EVER put his hans on a female unless it was in a seductive manner in a dance move and that's just entertainment. NOT ONCE has MJ ever taken photos butt naked to show his ding ding in front of a mirror. Chris might have the talent and I give him that much when it comes to dance moves and such, but his morale is WAAAAAAAAAAYYYYYYYY OFF! He needs to seek spirituality before he can ever falsely claim to be or portray someone else. Not NEYO, not Chris Brown, not Young Lloyd, not Omarion, JUST ONE MJ. #NuffSaid rr/ <---power 2 MJ  moonwalk_/
