ABC News has confirmed that Elizabeth Taylor died this morning of congestive heart failure. She was 79.
Taylor's son, Michael Wilding, released this statement: "We will always be inspired by her enduring contribution to our world."

Not to be morbid because I adored Liz, but I think we need to keep our eyes and ears open on how the news and media cover this, I think we will see even more why we are still here all these months later questioning the hoax. There will not be the inconsistencies here that we have been seeing since June 25, 2009.

I know this day has to be difficult for Michael. But, it's probably equally as hard on Prince, Paris, and Blanket. Sending prayers and love to all of the Jackson family and holding them close in my thoughts and prayers today and the coming days.
As others have said, we will need to watch how this is handled in the news because yes, it will most likely be much different than it was in June 25, 2009. I'm sure the Jacksons will be involved in her funeral - will need to see how they respond.
It's heartbreaking to think of them without their dear friend and supporter, Dame Liz Taylor.

I just saw Liz's photo on msn website. When I saw the photo. I just knew she wasn't with us anymore. I have been a big fan Liz Taylor for a long time. My heart goes out to her family, fans and especially MJ. She was always, always there when he needed her. I just want to thank everyone for all the vids, photos, comments and blessings. I have had several relative to died of congested heart failure. Right now my stepmother is in Hospice for the same thing. I don't look for her to be with us too much longer. She is a very sweet woman.
I have a feeling that MJ has been by her side the whole time. I can imagine what he is going through to lose someone so close. I know that he will be at the funeral. RIP Dame Eilzabeth Taylor. You will always be in my heart.

We are so lucky we had Elizabeth among us.
I pray for her family and friends to be strong and find inner peace. She was very ill, I think it was probably better for her, and knowing it may helps her loved ones to accept her death. But it's always hard to lose someone, mostly a wonderful person.

I don't know why this seems a bit unappropiate right now.......were the of them that close that close?
TMZ says yes:

My first immediate thought when hearing of the death of Liz was; "how will michael be able to deal with this now that there is one less genuine friend in his world?" I think this is such a sad loss for liz's family and especially Michael, I just hope he can try to recover in time. Good news is she is finally relieved of her pain, and i'm glad she isn't suffering anymore. such a tremendously gifted talent, she will be missed for his (edit: wow i meant to write her. Michael is taking over my post :D ) legendary acting AND her kind hearted soul. To be able to defend Michael CONSTANTLY and CONSISTENTLY shows how much love she has for her friends and is probably the most genuine person anybody could ever have. Goodnight Elizabeth, but not goodbye.

This is really sad. No matter how much age and health issues can be related to someones passing, it is hard to imagine she is no longer with us. My heart goes out to everyone that is saddened by this loss, especially her family, close friends and her true friend Michael. I hope with Michael's faith he will be comforted.

The more the reality of this sinks in, the sadder I get :cry: :cry: I wish she had been able to hold on just a little longer to see Michael's vindication. I know that's selfish. But I really do. Can you imagine how over joyed that would have made her?
I hope Michael got to see her, talk to her, communicate in their own secret way. It would be so sad if she never got to say her goodbyes after all these years of unyielding friendship and undying love and loyalty.

What a terrible loss and while she isn't suffering anymore, I can't help but wonder if this will bring the BAMSDAY sooner than expected? But you know what? She fought and overcame a lot of tragedies in her life, she was strong and you can't take that away from her. What she experienced would've ruined a lesser person.
I'm just glad that she was the one true friend that Michael had and always defended Michael. But knowing Michael he'll use her strength as inspiration.

I was at work when i heard it on the radio, I dropped everything I was holding at the moment. So sad. My thoughts go out to her family and friends. She was a stunning woman, fantastic actress and a survivor. She was loyal to Michael and my biggest fear was that she would leave this world while the hoax was still going on. She will be greatly missed.

I was on CNN site and Liz Taylor is on the first page.There are some articles and I went to comments :? .OMG I still can't believe what I saw there. I'm disgusted and sick of what people said there about Michael and Liz.I don't know until when I can live in this UGLY WORLD.People are so blind and brainwashed.I'm sorry but I don't know how this HOAX will end because I see everyday negative comments regarding Michael.Most of the comments are negative and judgemental .Sometimes I wish to disappear so that I don't see so much ignorance from some people who don't know what they are talking about.

That little sliver of doubt that creeps in even though i am a firm beLIEver that our Michael is still with us...just filled me with a sudden rush of sadness and it overcame me. My friends at work who amuse themselves telling me to" get over it hes dead" kindly reminded me today that now Elizabeth is with her dear friend Michael up in heaven now. I was so upset with them. They dont even realize how this kind of talk affects me. So when i sat down and watched this program today....and they said Liz had passed then they spoke of MJ passing in 09 i just lost it. I want this so over with right now. It hurts too badly. Michael please come hom.. We love you.

I havent been on here in awhile but i want to say iam deeply saddened by the passing of Elizabeth Taylor - she was such a beautiful human being, so caring, loving, giving and very talented! She will be missed. Michael will definately be upset today so big hugs to him!

I knew Elizabeth Taylor was going to die soon.
I absolutely hate to say this but a few weeks ago when they said she was hospitalized I had this overwhelming feeling we have to expect for the worst to happen :( .
Can't explain why.....a lot of things I can't explain ....probably the energies floating around, no matter the distances.........
Jeanette if you read this please know that I'm thinking about you and all that you told me last time is in my mind and even if I don't answer back very quikly I'm thinking about you a lot......and of BJ as well, sending me positive energy every time...... How sad is that Ms. Taylor's death makes me think how fragile we are, makes me think of all the people I admire and love so much, makes me think we all have to die some day and we should really stay together as long as we are here, respecting each other....

I'm been feeling so down & filled with anxiety because of Japan's disaster,having numerous aftershocks(daily)for almost 2 weeks...then....
...I was at a loss for words when I heard the news about LIZ.I am so sad because the world has lost a DAME & an ICON. No one can ever replace her. Immediately I thought of Michael of how devastated he must be.

When Michael died, liz was apparently rushed to the hospital of shock and was treated for high blood pressure. Zsa Zsa Gabor, who is 94, did the same thing when Liz passed away. interesting? coincidence? Maybe. but strange nevertheless.

With Elizabeth, we knew she was ill and older, so we have more reasons to believe she really died.
With Michael, we had feelings it didn't happen from the moment they announced they had called 911.

To tell you the truth I felt Michael will cancel the concerts or simply "he will die" that's what i felt : that he will 'die'/die (one of them)....and when my friend called me to open the tv and watch the news i was like "okay...he died"...the next days i cried...realizing that he will never come back...he's gone...But for Liz....i was never a fan of hers but i feel so much pain when i think about it...maybe because i think Michael is alive and he can be so hurt (?) i haven't found the answer yet..it's hidden deep within me ..

Elizabeth Taylor will be buried in a private ceremony in Los Angeles today.
A memorial service will be held for Hollywood icon at Forest Lawn Memorial-Parks and Mortuaries in Glendale, California.

A photo has emerged of the family crypt, with a spare space next to where her parents Francis and Sara are laid to rest.
It was also suggested that Taylor, who died on Wednesday of heart failure aged 79, would be buried in Wales in a grave belonging to the family of her late husband Richard Burton – or even eventually with the body of Burton himself.
Members of his family today said they were hoping to honour the agreement the couple had to be buried together at a cemetery in Pontrhydyfen, near Port Talbot, a pledge made when they were married.
Burton, whom she married twice, died 26 years ago but was buried near the home in Switzerland that he shared with his last wife, Sally, for tax reasons.
However, Burton’s family told the Daily Mail after he died that Elizabeth went to see them and insisted she was to be buried at the Methodist cemetery in her late ex-husband’s home village next to his parents Dick and Edith Jenkins.
Richard’s brother, Graham, said in 2006: ‘Elizabeth has made it quite clear to me that she wants to be laid to rest here.
‘She says that although Richard’s body is buried in Switzerland, his heart belongs to Wales and it is her wish to be buried here.’
There were also rumours that Burton would eventually disinterred from Switzerland and brought home to the Valleys – with friends close to Liz confirming she had been in negotiations with Burton’s widow to bring his body home.
And today, Burton’s niece, Sian Owen, said about the family grave: ‘If she has stipulated in her will that that’s what she wants then of course we will be 100 per cent behind her.’
Meanwhile, anti gay activists from the Westboro Baptist Church are threatening to picket Liz’s funeral – wherever it is held.
The church plans to protest because of the star’s gay friendly views and her work as an AIDS activist.
