Faheem Muhammad, one of Jackson’s bodyguards, said Dr Conrad Murray seemed to panic as he performed chest compressions on Jackson in his bedroom and at one point asked if anyone else in the room knew CPR.

Mr Muhammad said Jackson’s son Prince and daughter Paris were watching as the scene unfolded. Paris was on the floor crying and he eventually led the children out of their father’s bedroom, he said.

Jackson’s personal assistant, Michael Amir Williams, also gave evidence and described Murray calling him by phone and desperately asking him to get help.

Murray told him the singer had suffered a “bad reaction” and that immediate help was needed, but didn’t ask him to call an ambulance, Mr Williams told the court. He described a chaotic scene at the rented mansion where Jackson had been staying.

The court hearing in front of Los Angeles Superior Court Judge Michael Pastor is to determine if the case against Murray
