In 2008 Sony bought out BMG. It is not uncommon for the parent company to use up old stock. This, in my mind, would not prove it was fake or outdated.
Here is a little background info. regarding that buyout (from Wikipedia.org):

Sony BMG Music Entertainment began as the result of a 50–50 joint venture between Sony Music Entertainment (part of Sony) and Bertelsmann Music Group (part of Bertelsmann) completed on March 4, 2004. It is one of the Big Four music companies, and includes ownership and distribution of recording labels such as Arista Records, Columbia Records, Epic Records, J Records, Jive Records, RCA Victor Records, RCA Records, Legacy Recordings, Sonic Wave America, and others. The merger affected all Sony Music and Bertelsmann Music Group companies worldwide except for Japan, where it was felt that it would reduce competition in that country’s music industry significantly.
Financial analysts covering the merger anticipated that up to 2,000 jobs would be cut as a result, saving Sony BMG approximately $350 million annually.

Bertlesmann still exists but they have no affiliation with Sony, the contract ended in 2008.

* Random House, the world's largest trade book publisher

The basis of the company was formed through BMG's decision to withhold selected European music catalogues from the former Sony BMG joint venture and the BMG Publishing businesses.
Also kept separate from the acquisition by Sony Corporation of America was Sony BMG's wholly owned and operated BMG Japan. Sony Music Japan remained independent from the Sony BMG joint venture, therefore BMG and Sony labelling were kept separate in Japan under the venture. During Sony BMG's buyout, BMG Japan was instead picked up by Sony Music Entertainment Japan. It briefly continued to operate as a distinct entity until a reorganization in early 2009 folded the company into Sony Music Japan.

Man MJ look just like Janet on this pic with the short hair and all black. The new album cover photo reminds me of MJ back in 1995 when he went to the VMA'S and he had his hair just like this short and kinda curly and he was wearing that black pantent leather looking jacket. This is like an updated version of that look. This is interesting because I never seen him dress like this especially with two glitter gloves on. Look very 2010 to me.

When they are made in 1999, Arno Bani was only 23 years old...such pics from such a young photogragh means a perfekt combination from art and technic...very young, because you need time to get a rearly good photograh and i wonder why he wasn't rearly mentioned since then. That pics where a start for a great future for him, but when i Google his name i nearly get this Michael pics....what is he doing ?
I have ordered his MJ photographic book, but it was not availible now....i have to wait.
Michael will ge allways a mystery....wasn't it that what he wants ? This pics could be new and all the world noticed and wonder from when they are.

This may sound strange, but when I caught a glimpse of this pic, I thought of Edward Scissorhands, a story about a young individual, perceived to be an oddity, who falls in love with this woman but is falsely accused of a murder he didn't commit. he gets shunned from society simply because he was an outsider.

mrbigshot: MJ was a big fan of "Edward Scissorhands" and owned the scissors used in the movie. I read that MJ lobbied for the part of ES, but ultimately it went to Johnny Depp... I don't know if that's 100% accurate, and how/why Depp got the part.
As for that new photo: I don't normally drool over men, but MJ is a special case. The photo's HOT! :oops: Gema put it nicely. :D :mrgreen:

Michael did have short hair in the 1990s - "You Are Not Alone" video, for instance, or "Childhood". I looked at some of the other photos in the Arno Bani collection (said to be taken in 1999) and I think it's possible... It's MJ with somewhat shorter hair than in the YANA video. And it's easy to vary between straight and curly hair.

I think the Arno Bani photos, including this one, may well have been taken in 1999 - as Bani says. I don't think it's possible to draw a firm conclusion one way or another (old vs. new).

I debated a long time before deciding to post this or not.
I find it super creepy and offensive that you make your post as if speaking directly to MJ and call him Daddy in it. Not once, but twice. You need to chill out on the public MJ lust fest, it's very disrespectful and sleezy and makes the whole hoax community look bad. Did you read that thread by BlackJack about: Re-Education? I looked at some of the other photos in the Arno Bani collection (said to be taken in 1999) and I think it's possible... It's MJ with somewhat shorter hair than in the YANA video. And it's easy to vary between straight and curly hair.

There is short hair and short hair...This hair looks 2009-2010. Photoshop or not, this hair cut is recent, IMO. I'm obssessed with new hair cuts and I always tell my hair dresser I want the newest cut. Looking at this pic I just think it can't be from the Dangerous era. It's too stylish for that time. Maybe I'm going to show it to my hair dresser and ask her :P

I agree. In this photo he looks a little older. Actually, he looks like, as some would call, the "o2 guy" (I believe o2 Michael was the real deal, though). That been said, I think three events could be occurring here:
1. That is a recent picture of Michael Jackson (2009-2010).
2. People cant stop profiting from the money-making machine, and that is a photo-shopped pic of MJ.
3. That is a picture of a double, and he certainly does look like o2 Michael.
I'll go with choice #1.

I looked at my Dec 2007 Ebony issue and he looks the same there, very smooth. If you know anything about photoshopping digitally you know how much can be done.

If they are, then they appear to be in some kind of copyright violation unless they own the other pic. Seems very sloppy to me and not what one would expect from Sony, unless, of course, it is intentional. The meaning? Not sure yet.

Sadly, unless I am mistaken, there really hasn't been any official notice about the music CD. I check Amazon everyday for pre-order info. People involved in the CD are making comments here and there and the suspence is killing people! :lol:

I am a very positive person, I have faith in God, and I know deep in my soul Michael is alive. Michael is not a cruel person, he will not play with us that way. He know we love him and would do anything to help him. I think this is others mean people that play with our heads.
ForstAMoon you have a point, but does that make it a right? Even if someone has played with that person's feelings don't do to others what you do not want others to do to you...

It helps to realize this is an ARG, and that MJ said it would be a great adventure, nothing to be afraid of. If BAM time is not for a while yet, he's trying to keep us here till then and we should be thankful he hasn't deserted us! :) In Thriller when his girlfriend says they should leave the theatre, MJ says, "No, I'm enjoying this!" as he munches popcorn.

I had my doubts about that picture (well any picture with Mj wearing sunglasses is an automatic "questionable" to me)...you can't fake his eyes. But with this picture ironically it was the shape (silhouette) that seemed off...MJ isn't that squared off in the torso like that....the mid section is too "boxy".
I think the lesson here is how easily a photo can be manipulated...don't always believe what you see ;)

Well yes, on the surface that's how it appears. But certainly there's way better pics to use for photoshop purposes to achieve those goals.... like for starters, a body that isn't facing the opposite direction from MJ's head.
It's sloppy if deception is the purpose. Repeatedly Sony is being made out to look sloppy in their "coverups". I don't think these are mistakes.

You may be on to something here.
Considering the cover of the album is a painting, including other things, several MJs... it's all an artist's interpretation of the real thing. And it's all old stuff, obviously, but a heavy emphasis on past MJ.
Photoshopped promo pics, not MJ models used.
The name is "Michael", not even Michael Jackson's full name. Could be any Michael.
New song that doesn't sound like MJ. Family saying the tracks are fake. Leaked songs containing cut and pasted parts from old work.

I agree, that really could be the message--fake/hoax--well put. Part of me just wants an enjoyable album of new real MJ music (easy life!), but part of me wants to understand what MJ's trying to tell us by all this as a part of his hoax. That's really his heart.

I was going to pre-order it and get the shirt with the Vision set, but Jermaine posted on his twitter that family is 1000% against all of this...So..I've decided not to. :?
