MJ Death Mansion for Sale -- Fans Already Calling
20 minutes ago by TMZ Staff

The Holmby Hills mansion where Michael Jackson overdosed on Propofol and died is back on the market for a cool $28 mil -- but the owners are asking for roughly $10 million less than they did before MJ kicked the bucket.

The 17,171 square foot home on Carolwood Drive -- which includes 7 bedrooms, a 7-car garage, and 13 toilets -- was officially put up for sale on Monday ... with an asking price of $28,995,000.

Sources close to the estate tell TMZ that several MJ fans have already expressed interest -- possibly in an attempt to get a sneak peek inside -- but the owners have required all potential buyers to go through an "extensive pre-qualifying check" before they can even walk in the door.

Back in 2008, the property owner -- Ed Hardy CEO Hubert Guez -- tried selling the place for $38 million ... but when that didn't work out, he agreed to let MJ live in the home while he rehearsed for the "This Is It" tour.

According to RealEstalker.com, Guez had recently tried to rent out the property for $300,000 per month ... but ultimately decided he would try and get rid of it all together, with the discounted price tag.

So far, it's unclear if Guez is entertaining any serious offers.

I don't know the expression "kicked the bucket"..is it disrespectful? Does it mean died? Sorry for my ignorance

it's a colloquial way to say that someone died. not disrespectful, really, but just a term in spoken language. pretty unusual for journalists to write it like that, but this is tmz... ;)

edit: just noticed the entry line: '...where michael jackson overdosed on propofol and died...'. when you klick the 'kicked the bucket line', it leads you to the original article from june 25, 2009 (2:20 pdt!) saying that he suffered cardiac arrest and died in the hospital. now they officially have two versions themselves, it seems...i don't remember them using that expression 'overdosed on propofol' before...also, it usually sounds like self-inflicted when you write 'died from an overdose'. is it like tmz playing around with the different versions of 'how mike died' now?

Yes Trublu, it is slang meaning someone has died.  It's more insensitive than disrespectful, I think.  Although, in the context of Michael, I'm a little offended that they use that phrase.  That's just me.

Thank you so much :)
Then the comments at the bottom of the page are a bit strange. I thought maybe it referred to suicide after reading one of the comments saying that Murray killed him and that he didn't 'kick the bucket'.

Maybe they are referring to suicide? Here http://www.phrases.org.uk/meanings/218800.html (http://www.phrases.org.uk/meanings/218800.html) it says:

"One theory as to why, albeit with little evidence to support it, is that the phrase originates from the notion that people hanged themselves by standing on a bucket with a noose around their neck and then kicking the bucket away. "

But then goes on to say that it doesn't refer to suicide. It  is a strange saying for a non-native to understand!   :?

Buckle your safety belts butter beans and prepare for a shit storm of publicity because the Los Angeles mansion where Michael Jackson met his untimely death in June of 2009 is back on the market with an asking price of $28,995,000.

The Richard Landry designed dwelling on N. Carolwood Drive in the hoity-toity Holmby Hills area contains a total of 7 bedrooms, 7 garage spaces, 12 fireplaces, and an unlucky 13 poopers. When our seriously superstitious house gurl Svetlana heard there were 13 terlits in the house she dropped to the floor, flailed and wailed around a bit screaming about how "Michael should have known. He should have known..."

The 17,171 square foot faux French chateau sits on a 1.26 acre lot according to listing information and is owned by Roxanne Guez and her controversial clothing manufacturing mogul huzband Hubert who is the current CEO of that upsetting Ed Hardy brand.

Your Mama has written about and dissed on the palatial pile a thousand time before so there's no need for us to rehash the hashed. However, iffin any of the children missed any of our previous discussions some of them are here, here, and here.

What a gorgeous home!  We all knew the "death bed" photos weren't from this home with the mattresses laying on the floor in a tiny cramped up room....seen below... LOL!

http://www.google.com/imgres?imgurl=htt ... %2Bbed%2Bp (http://www.google.com/imgres?imgurl=http://innthebasement.com/wp-content/uploads/bedroom-photo-300x225.jpg&imgrefurl=http://innthebasement.com/index.php/2009/08/06/michael-jackson-bloody-shirt-in-bedroom/&usg=__klsTL7niMJ_KoVXLrjR7cLP0LbU=&h=225&w=300&sz=22&hl=en&start=66&tbnid=m1hFKiJjvSJAMM:&tbnh=117&tbnw=145&prev=/images%3Fq%3Dmichael%2Bjackson%2Bdeath%2Bbed%2Bp)

Look at the gorgeous huge master bedroom that DancingtheDream posted (the 5th photo on the previous page) with the fireplace, gorgeous curtains and oh so elegant!  As for the death bed "photo" published internationally.....well, just because.....don't make it factual!  We get it, Mike!  Oh what a circus!  Oh what a show!

We love you, Michael!  And YES, we will be there!   :D  :D  :D

Ok - all of those threads about faces has made me crazy for sure. Is there a face in the fireplace behind the screen?

EDIT: anewfan - just saw your post after I added mine. It scared me at first because it was so obvious.

The other thing is that we have definitely seen two different bedroom pictures now and not just the one from the supposed adjoining room where he "died".

In the source of their website you will find that they use a width of 982 pixels for their layout:

To check if you have set the right resolution and width in your browser for watching the TMZ website - make a screenshot, load it into Photoshop and measure if the width of the body on your screen is indeed 982 pixels wide.  The width of the body is shown in the blue square in this image:

If it's not the same, you will have to change your browser settings.  In most browsers you can easily do this by holding down the Ctrl button and scrolling up or down with the wheel of your mouse at the same time.

I suppose a good amount of us just prefer the gorgeously romantic, rich hues and "antique" feel of it- yours truly included..!I never like all of the modern looks for the home in magazines, all of the plain, dull solid colors and plain painted wood furniture .!

Wow indeed! However, looking at the walls and decors including the furniture in these pics, can I just say I now highly doubt those bedroom room pics that came out where Mj supposedly overdosed don't look like they belong to this house. Just by the walls and lavish decors, I feel a huge difference. Just my thought

TMZ knows MJ was into 7's, so I'd say that's why they made such a big  effort mentioning all the 7 coincidences...The furniture is hired...  Furnished houses have more appeal for potential buyers.

If someone has really died, personally, I think it is totally disrespectful for TMZ or anyone to print that they have 'kicked the bucket'.  It is a jokey way of expressing that someone has died.  I am so sure TMZ know MJ is not dead.  Do they describe other dead celebrities as having 'kicked the bucket'?

I am 100% with you on this one. In Polish we have very very similar expression, it says in free translation "kick the calendar";  knowing tabloids language by now I cannot imagine even them using such expression for someone who died.

Bais means "influence in an unfair way"

So is TMZ trying to say TS influences us in an unfair way? I don't get it :|

EDIT: Sorry, didn't know this was already pointed out. I should've looked through the comments first, I was excited about seeing that, so i posted my reply before reading the other comments haha! 8-)

I think it means prejudice in this case. Many people are opposing TS without having read his posts.

TS BIAS...

Great finding, Souza! But, just like lilwendy, the TMZ "right resolution" revelation hit me hard, because it never crossed my mind that the articles can be displayed differently, affecting the rows arrangement and consequently the "decoding" of the hidden message.

However, I find very intriguing the dualistic meaning of BIAS, which can be intepreted as "an inclination towards something, or a predisposition, partiality, prejudice, preference, or predilection" (TS taking Michael's side) or as "systematic favoritism that is present in the data collection process resulting in misleading results" and "the human tendency to make systematic errors in certain circumstances based on cognitive factors rather than evidence - cognitive bias", relating to the latest redirects of TS for our misinterpretation of his clues, the omission of the blunt evidence due to subjective selection of messages and meanings.

Moreover, the second part of the title of the article, "Fans Already Calling" made me look deeper into the meaning of "call". According to wikipedia, the first reference is made to "A type of betting in poker" http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Call (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Call). We've had many gambling/games connections so I didn't dismiss this possibility. The call may also refer to a command, general gathering from the top down, like an army mobilisation. Staying with the army intepretation, call is also an acronym for "Center for Army Lessons Learned". Anyway, to me it sounds like "the fans are already waiting and calling the return".

Andy

Ok, either this gambling connection is serious, either I'm really seeing things. When I googled "mansion", the first suggestion and result was not for the actual meaning of the word ("a very large dwelling house"), but for an online casino, with 2 sites: http://www.mansion.com/ (http://www.mansion.com/) and http://www.mansionpoker.com/ (http://www.mansionpoker.com/). What I found even more interesting is the casino's logo, an embelished M, resembling the Illuminated letters. So we have "mansion casino" and "fans calling" (poker). What can this be?

Andy

When I first saw the TS BIAS spelling on TMZ I don't know why but I immediately thought that it was directed to us, people who have faith in TS. Because there is another perspective to be taken into account, maybe that our too grand faith in TS made us missed an important point...

Someone can argue that TMZ is maybe just showing that they know about TS and that people are being prejudice ok, but even, I don't understand why TMZ would do that because people who don't have faith in TS will not consider him more serious or legitimate because TMZ said so...I really feel like it's directed to us but I may be wrong of course.

It's gorgeous! I don't go for antiques but it fits there.
I find the wording odd and yes "kicked the bucket" to me is rude.
But I did smile at the comment that Pearl Jr put in :

The Most Shocking story of our lifetime.

" MJ didn't die there because Michael is NOT dead!"
Good for her!
I cannot understand the hateful comments, why do they continue to hassle MJ fans.
I would never post on an article where I did not like the subject.
TMZ again has made us put our thinking caps on

We LOVE you Michael!!!

I would say TS has a bias --towards MJ leaving clues that he's not dead but creatively orchestrating events, numbers, MJ and Elvis connection, and more like that. That's sort of how I take it. The $17,171 number is 77 and 111, which is interesting. And in the 1st page where the Realestalker article is posted,(lively writer!!) he mentions 12 fireplaces. So in addition to the 13 families of the Illuminati being buried with MJ the victor on top crypt (only symbolically), they're also being flushed down the toilet, and there are 12 power sources to light the way for the world to be changed positively (12 sons of Jacob and 12 disciples of Jesus).

I forgot, I was going to add this. Maybe MJ and Elvis have this in common, they have a list of things they want to do before they REALLY actually die. They're both terminally ill with the human aging process.

Plot Summary for
The Bucket List (2007) More at IMDbPro ยป
ad feedbackCorprate billionaire Edward Cole and working class mechanic Carter Chambers have nothing in common except for their terminal illnesses. While sharing a hospital room together, they decide to leave it and do all the things they have ever wanted to do before they die according to their bucket list. In the process, both of them heal each other, become unlikely friends, and ultimately find the joy in life. Written by r2k443

The quiet mechanic Carter Chambers is a man with a great general culture; has been married for forty-five years with his beloved wife Virginia and has two sons - one lawyer the other engineer - and a violinist daughter. The caustic and bitter billionaire Edward Cole owns many hospitals, has many divorces and one missing daughter. Following the policy of Edward, his hospital makes no exception giving a private room to him and he shares the same room as Carter. Along the days, they become close to each other and when Edward finds in the garbage the bucket list that Carter had prepared, listing all he wanted to do before dying, he includes his own items and invites Carter to a journey of friendship, discoveries and redemption. Written by Claudio Carvalho, Rio de Janeiro, Brazil

Edward (a rich man) meets Carter, when they in hospital. They both live different lifestyles, but become friends when they bond because of their common terminal illnesses. They later come together to make a list of things they want to do before they: "kick the bucket" (a positive list, which makes life better). They both start to make changes in life, where they both learn from each other. Written by Jen Whitham.

Best part of the article: 13 toilets.

Second best: "kicked the bucket" - I bet he did kick it and not only one time.

Third best: the link to the "death announcement" is followed by another link in that article:
"La Toya Races to her Brother's Side" and this gives yet a real "kick":
