For $150 a ticket, you can pay tribute to Michael Jackson on the one year anniversary of his death ... at the swanky Beverly Hilton Hotel. Problem is ... the event is not sanctioned by the people who control all things MJ.

"Forever Michael" is being thrown by The Jackson Family Foundation and VoicePlate.com. Joseph Fahmy, the guy who runs VoicePlate, tells TMZ Joe and Katherine Jackson, along with Michael's 3 kids are expected to attend. But sources connected with the family tell us ... Katherine and the kids won't even be in town on June 26 -- the day of the event.
According to the VoicePlate website, "A portion of the proceeds for this event will be presented to some of Michael Jackson's favorite charities at the event." As for what portion goes to charity and where the rest of the money goes ... Fahmy wouldn't say, although he did tell us he just hopes to break even.
And there's this ... Fahmy says Jackson songs will be sung the entire evening. It's all news to the Michael Jackson estate. Howard Weitzman, lawyer for the estate, tells TMZ, "No one ever contacted the Estate to see whether or not they would approve, participate in, or allow the use of Michael's name, likeness, image or intellectual property for this event."

Where have we heard the Beverly Hilton hotel before? * 9 1 1 *
Maybe this is diffrent for me cause English isnt my first language but to me it feels like that sentence is wrong. shouldn't it be: "The event is not sanctioned by the people who control all things about MJ?/of MJ?/regarding MJ"
Cause it almost looks like they are saying MJ controls all the things...?
Oh and another thing, Katherine and the kids won't be in town on june 26th? (One year later? I thought it was June 25th :) )

In order to mark the first death anniversary of Michael Jackson his family members will organize an event in Los Angeles on June 10.
The Jackson Family Foundation will present Forever Michael at The Beverly Hilton Hotel, in memory of the pop legend who died on June 25 last year.
Michael Jackson- the greatest entertainer
The pop legend Michael Jackson’s distinctive musical sound and vocal style has influenced countless hip hop pop and rock artists.
His album ‘thriller’ is considered an everlasting masterpiece and his hundreds of awards have made him the most-awarded recording artist in the history of music.
Michael, who has become larger than life with his accomplishments and is immortalized with his dance techniques such as ‘robot’ and ‘moonwalk’, was often under the scanner for his mysterious life style when he was alive. The darker side of the singer’s life includes his humiliating 2005 trial and acquittal on charges of child sex abuse.
Apart from his much-publicized personal life, Michael became one of the living legends of his time.

Legacy that Michael Jackson left behind

And im pretty sure i have seen this date elsewhere.. wasnt there an article about how Katherine was in Gary until June 10th??? - because she is returning to LA for this event? Remember that.. im sure that was TMZ too... now they are contradicting themselves.

Ok.. see what you mean but i really dont think that is the case. I have never seen it written like that before in an article. That would be extremely poor English and grammar.
If thats the case then it baffles me why they would write it like that.

I just wanted to say that I purchased a ticket for this. It was a little weird because I only recieved a receipt conformation from Voiceplate.com in my email saying my purchase was $150. I did write the guestservices person to ask if I actually was on the list and how we would enter without a paper ticket. They did get back to me immediately and said I was on their list and to enjoy the show. Just wanted to confirm that it is infact on June 26th at 7:00pm. I asked them what the lineup would be and I suppose I can also ask if he thinks the Jackson family will be there on that day. I have not heard back yet. I can't imagine that they wouldn't since the Jackson Foundation is putting it on, someone is bound to be there.
I don't know but something tells me that TMZ has put this story out there to try to create confusion or possibly discourage a sellout or an overflow of people. I have no idea but I have a ticket for something having to do with Michael Jackson that day! Should be interesting to see. 8-)

By the way, in the "about" section of the website, isn't that the picture of Joe, Katherine, and Jermaine at the courthouse for Murray's arraignment? If it is, I find it odd that they'd use that picture. Can someone set me straight?

So.. as I stated before I have a ticket to this. I will def be investigating there!! And am happy to report back. :D
I wanted to also let you know that I developed a pretty good email relationship with the guest services person. We were going back and forth about whether VIP was worth it or not. He basically said "no way" unless you want to pay $350 for dinner and a gift bag. I said I'll pass. ;) He said the venue is small and intimate and over all my experience should be equivalent to VIP. He said: "If there is a possibility of a deal on VIP Upgrade, I will email you ASAP."
As promised I asked him about the lineup for this show. Here is what he says verbatim:
"The line up will include a Jackson performance by one of the family members.That I know is Confirmed. Name To be released soon. Also the celebrity list will be released online next few days. I think you will have a great time celebrating the Legacy and humanitarian efforts of Michael Jackson."
So that is the news! I will be videotaping my entire experience in LA on the weekend of the 25th and posting it on my Youtube Channel. I am certain I won't be able to bring a camera in that place but, of course I'll try. 8-)
On the 25th I will be at Forest Lawn, 26th day a Justice for MJ rally and then the evening of the 26th at this "Forever Michael" show. I will document as much as I can and also post verbal feedback.

June is going to be tremendously hard.. for everyone. I am 50/50 but i am veering more to Michael being gone and i just have a block to accepting it. Im hoping June i can let go. Its going to be so hard.
