This unusual name has two possible origins, each with its own distinctive history and derivation. Firstly, as an English surname, Raffels is one of the patronymic forms of the name Raffel (the "-s" suffix representing a reduced form of "son of"), which was developed from the Hebrew male given name "Refael", composed of the elements "rafa", to heal, and "el", God. This was the name borne by one of the archangels, and was comparatively popular as a given name among Christians in the Middle Ages, partly due to the part played by the angel in the Apochryphal tale of Tobias.

The first issue of the original German series reveals that the notorious thief John C. Raffles is really Lord Edward Lister. A number of different, somewhat conflicting origin stories exist to explain why a genuine Lord would become a thief, involving having been robbed from his inheritance, poverty in childhood, boredom or overindulgence in charity. With his secret identity exposed Raffles is forced to create and maintain a large number of false ones, of which the main one is Lord William Aberdeen. Depending on the origin story this title could be genuine, the name and identity are false.

I wonder about the "no entrapment" button here.In fact I don't see any but I might be blind for the moment. However I think we are watching a true master at work.As we have seen, no name or occurrence was by accident. So I looked up the name of this guy. Remember this pic from Front?Just thinking it might be connected to Raffles, coming from Netherlands we are told. Front indicates that events are happening according to timing and as they should.I'm not sure if the pic was in this post or the next one. This one included 3 pics, one of fingers walking on yellow pages, one of a 3-eyed martian from Toy Story, and the Yellow road in Netherlands (I think).Quoteon: June 17, 2011, 09:48:34 AM »Let your fingers do the walkin'……….Let your eyes do the watchin'……….Speculate and conspire as you may. Tuesday, August 17, 2010Yellow Brick Road - Netherlands The city of Schiedam was and remains to this day, the poorest city in the Netherlands and the Yellow Brick Road, that connects the center of the city to the new train station, is not only meant to make the city more beautiful, but also to symbolize the road to prosperity and success. Regarding Gabriel, i only read references as the archangel represented as a woman withing some English spoken sites related to angels, not within History of Art. In fact, they (archangel, angel, serafin...) are supposed to be asexual. So their looks are open to interpretation.Indirectly this talk makes me think of Michael and how he broke walls of prejudice when he decided wearing make up of even the choice of his later clothes which apparently were to be worn by women (can´t find the pic, but i am referring to the black t-shirt with a gold symbol)Back to Raffles, his biggest crime has been that videoclip and song!!
n two separate interviews in the early ’90s, Bowie reflected on his period of mental instability as he battled – and basked in – his alter-ego. Ziggy had literally become an escape from himself and his every-day life; a place to hide from David Bowie.I enjoyed the character so much and it was so much easier for me to live within that character that, along with the help of some chemical substances at the time, it became easier and easier for me to blur the lines between reality and the blessed creature that I created – my doppelganger. I wasn’t getting rid of him at all – in fact I was joining forces with him (1990).There was a theory that one creates a doppelganger and then imbues that with all your faults and guilts and fears and then eventually you destroy him, hopefully destroying all your guilt, fear and paranoia. And I often feel that I was doing that unwittingly, creating an alternative ego that would take on everything that I was insecure about. Ziggy served my purpose because I found it easier to function through him, although I probably put myself on a path of pure psychological damage by doing what I did. But it felt like it was going to be easier living through an alternative self. Of course the major problem was that I was blurring the lines between sanity and an insane figure, and finally did break the lines down in the mid-Seventies where I really couldn’t perceive the difference between the stage persona and myself (1993).You are not allowed to view links.
