how did you receive the album before its release date? I have the full album myself but not the physical CD.

I also got the real CD. There was a pre-sale at the official Sony store in my country!  ;)

I have listened to Breaking News a billion times.  It's not this Jason Malachi guy that I keep hearing about.  It's Michael.  Quit believing the media's lies and think for yourself.  Just because it sounds slightly different doesn't mean it's a different person.  You have to listen to more than just the voice itself.  I refuse to listen to the album online, I don't believe in that.  I'll buy it Tuesday and see for sure, but I think the people who are saying it isn't him are ridiculous.

When you have the album in your hands, I invite you to visit the thread I started today. Please, read my points and try to relate to them. I am collecting people's opinions - pros and cons. But please, read my points.

Hey filmhoax - no need to be discourteous and rude.  I am a big fan of Michael and have been ever since I saw him on the Ed Sullivan show when I was 10.  I stayed with him, his music, and his dance until the day that he "died" so get off your high horse and start acting more like Michael would want you to then the way you responded to my post.

None of these songs are Jason Malachi, who may try to sound like MJ but his keys are flat and just cannot do it.  Sounds more like Justin Timberlake, if you ask me.  Here is an example....Please.  What the heck is he doing anyway.

Some of you may be right in saying Michael wouldn't put this album out if it wasn't perfect.  And I agree with you.  But remember everyone....Michael is supposed to be DEAD!  If he put out a perfect song or album, wouldn't more people than the 87% on TMZ's last poll, who said Michael faked his death, would think that Michael faked his death.  Let's be real.  This album is about controversy, hipe, is it or isn't it, sounds like, doesn't sound like, and as a result it's the top selling album all over the world.  Now that sounds like Michael to me....through and through!

Anyway, I don't know how I got the cd early...it just arrived in the mail along with the t-shirt I pre-ordered.  No tracking notice or anything, just BAM on my porch when I came home from work.  I love it and although it may not be all Michael singing, it sure is Michael to me.   :D  :D  8-)

So you are such a big fan that you enjoy 3 tracks sung by a completely different vocalist?

Breaking news, monster and keep your head up are sung by jason Malachi. Even a deaf, blind and retarded person could tell the difference between Michael's voice and any other persons.

People these days are so thick it boggles the mind.

Whatever floats your boat though.

Pathetic

that was VERY rude. If you can't be respectful then keep your onions to yourself. Seriously, no wonder Michael hasn't came back yet, his OWN FANS aren't spreading love to each other.

EDIT: of course i did not mean keep your onions to yourself. apparently i misspelled opinions and my web browser thought i was typing onions and corrected me. oopsie!

Quote from: "jacilovesmichael"
I can see everyone's point of view...

In my opinion, there are 10 tracks - 7 of which are really Michael Jackson. Doesn't that sound like it could really be the case? I mean, if he was going to try and trick us, wouldn't it make sense for him to have SEVEN of the songs really be him? Those 3 songs are clearly either not him, or he is manipulating his voice to sound different on purpose, which is my gut feeling. Because they are clearly different. Still good songs, but a different sounding voice nonetheless. Perhaps those 3 songs are a specific message. Very interesting lyrics and titles...
But I don't think this debate it's reason enough to boycott the album, because the rest of the songs are him for sure. Plus, if we believe Michael Jackson is alive, then we must also believe that he is behind the release of this album, right? If we want to believe that it's all Sony and their evil master plan...then we must also believe that Michael is dead. Because let's face it, even if MJ weren't dead and Sony were behind it, that wouldn't make sense because Michael would find a way to stop it - or at least find a way to warn us in a clear way.  I'm just not ready to call Sony the bad guy when I think Michael is still with Sony and/or manipulating Sony in some way...Sony is necessary in this hoax, whether they know they're apart of it or not.

Yes!!

I say you are totally right. Come on. What's wrong with us? There are seven tracks undisputed Michael Jackson on this album. 3 others which are voice altered. Very obviously! I think sometimes were are too skeptical for our own good, I mean, what more do we want? The album to be called "Hoax" instead of "Michael"?

In regards to the Evil $ony theory, no Evil Genius does fakes this bad. As stated, Jason Malachi sounds more like MJ then these songs do, especially Breaking News. Dude. That's unrecognizable as MJ. If Evil $ony wanted to produce fake MJ tracks, why not hire someone who sounds like MJ?

I don't care how crappy the recording or how much its processed, there's no point in altering MJs voice so it doesn't sound like MJ. No point in that at all.

As a perfect example, the song 'I Like The Way You Love Me',  preludes with MJ singing over the phone. Really crappy reception too. And it sounds like... MJ. So what's the problem with the Cascio tracks? The phone singing seems to have been given to us as a rough voice sample, right there, on the album!

I say, like you do jaci, that the Cascio tracks are altered on purpose to disguise MJs voice. And there's only one person who would A. think of that and b. have the guts to DO that, and that's an alive and well MJ calling the shots on this hoax album.

Now, as you also said, maybe Sony doesn't know what they are being used to do. Maybe they really did hire these voice experts, and since it really IS MJ, of course they were able to say they're authentic.

So maybe this is what the Cascios are doing to help MJ. They are the entity that sells these tracks to Sony as the "secret MJ tracks" at MJs direction from behind the scenes. Perhaps they are helping participate in this mini hoax within the hoax, otherwise I see little purpose for them. Why parade these people in the media otherwise? Like, what's their hoaxy purpose otherwise if not acting as agent between believed-dead-MJ and Sony? They didn't look super dooper thrilled about being on Oprah, they don't seem like the type to seek attention for fame.

I don't know, my thoughts are still scattered in regards to the Cascio connection, reason for it, and how it fits exactly. Lots of possibilities for this one.

But bottom line, there's no purpose for Sony to alter dead MJs voice to sound like someone else if you don't have super dedicated fan hearing, and no reason for Sony to include questionable tracks on a dead-MJ album, and if all else fails, there's no reason, frankly, not to use a better voice impersonator if it were a grand murder conspiracy.

I agree with  jaci and bec about Michael's vocals being deliberately altered on the Cascio tracks.

These would have been the 3 songs that were recorded in that basement studio, not a professional recording studio.  I think Michael wanted these 3 songs to sound different and recorded them that way on purpose.  And who better to trust than the Cascio's, who have been friends with him for over 20 years and in all that time never betrayed his trust by going public with their friendship with him.  I believe they were on Oprah with his go ahead, that much was obvious to me when I watched the interview and didn't feel for one second that this family actually LOST their close dear friend Michael.

Those 3 Cascio songs were specifically picked by Michael for the album - if Michael was really dead, Sony has a huge catalog of unreleased MJ songs that they could have chosen from, which would be undoubtedly Michael's voice to everyone, no questions asked.

But Michael wants questions asked - nothing gets attention like controversy.  And nothing gets the mind activated more than questioning what's real and what's fake.

Thanks for posting this information mjthelegendlives.  I did read the letter, and although I do not put all my trust in those lawyer dudes, I do trust the guys that have worked with MJ for 20+ years.  If they say that it is MJ, I believe them.

I agree with the earlier post that this could be a wake-up call to all the non-believers.  Whatever Michael has in mind, he is a true genius.  He has gotten our attention for sure and the buzz is on.  I truly think that more people saying don't buy it will cause more people to run out and buy it just because of the controversy of MICHAEL.   8-)

No matter what other's opinions are, to me MICHAEL is definately Michael. Because of the fact that Michael did write most songs, did the producing, is for me reason enough to buy the album and to support the message of Michael. I love all the songs, they have each their own style, but they have all the same message fame & media are delusive and fake. It strikes me that Hollywood, the world of fame, is used in 2 songs: Hollywood Tonight and in Monster. Hollywood & paparazzi as one in Monster. Behind The Mask is also meaning the fake empty world of fame.
As for the voices, in the intro of the Breaking News lyrics there's written: "He would often disguise his voice as a journalist .." and in the intro of the Monster lyrics: "Michael actually recorded some of his background vocals through a PVC pipe..." I would say he's experimenting with voices... Just my opinion.

This is just my opinion but I firmly believe that Michael was experimenting with the vocals.
INNOVATIVE is what Michael strives for. Why is it so hard to believe that he would try something
new and try to make his vocals sound different?

Trying new sounds, experimenting, and being one step ahead is what Michael is about. I don't
think the world was ready for this. I personally have grown to just accept that there will always
be surprises when it comes to his music... ;)

With that said, the album is FANTASTIC and I really think that YES it IS Michael

Nice way to put it Lovely One.  I totally agree with you.  Michael said there would be suprises and that the best is yet to come.  People weren't expecting to hear a different style of vocals so they just pegged it as fake.

It's his death that is fake people, not his new music.   8-)

Re: Enjoying MICHAEL!

I dont have the album yet, I am getting it for X-mas, I'm SO excited to listen to the songs, and I refuse to listen to any of the songs before I have the album! Just because thats me  :P  haha..
But as soon as I listen I'll come back and give my two cents..

But I think it makes a lot of sense for Michael to sing SEVEN of the tracks, and have the other 3 altered somehow. Seven is his number, maybe its his way of trying to tell us something.
I did listen to breaking news, no way that is Michael's raw voice, if it is him it's altered.
I dont believe the "It's 2010 Michael wanted to try something new with his voice" theory, simply because..Let's look at Michael's music career shall we? It spans over 5 decades, 5 decades in which music drastically changed, including Michael's music. Off the Wall and Invincible have COMPLETELY different sounds but Michael's VOICE is always the same, it's recognizable, unmistakable. Why now, when Mike releases an album from the grave is when his voice sounds different and we have to question it, it's NEVER happened in the past. We've always known 100% that it was Mike, and now everyone, even his family, is questioning these songs...so something's up. He must be doing it on purpose.
