Title: Album "Michael" & computer
Post by: sophiecestmoi on December 21, 2010, 12:52:18 PM
I registered the album, that  I bought today, on 2 different computers and I found strange that none of them regognize the "artist".With all my other MJ's albums, the computer shows immediatly the name of the artist and the title of the songs...here just "unknown artist"....What is happening with yours ?

Merry Christmas to you, LOVE

I can't help myself, but imagine it has been done on purpose...I don't know why : we know the artist and the name of the songs, and my crazy mind just follows :Michael could have put a special program in it and when he comes back gives us a key code :D , that opens a big surprise,a message, or a new song ... ;) something like that !

Now you can tell me to stop dreaming, your CD works perfectly well, and I can throw my computers through the window ;) I love those songs, by the way !

Yup! mine too! put the cd in my computer and all that came up was "unknow artist" and track numbers 1-10 for each song instead of the names. First time i've ever had that for a bought cd. Weird.

Same for me... I also find it odd thanks for pointing it out here. What can the reason be?

what about each one individually?

Could it be we are heading towards "the artist formerly known as Michael Jackson"?

Maybe that we can choose the titles we want, the album cover we want because there is already an official album cover, official titles for each song... or maybe the computer is not ok with the album and does not recognize "Michael Jackson" as he is used to.

Thanks sophiecestmoi - I thought it was just happening to me. Yes awesome1, I tried Find Album Info a few times making sure I was online and nothing happened so I re-ripped the CD several times but it still shows unknown artist.  In iTunes there's no album cover and it says Various Artists but it does have the song titles and Michael Jackson and Akon, Michael Jackson Feat. 50 cent, etc in the song list.

You are reading my mind.  I took mine to work today to synch it and voila, artist unknown, track 1, 2, 3 etc.  That only means that this cd is bootleg!  It was not professionally done.  They took some songs, burned them to a cd, and sold them as if they had been manufactured in a studio.  That stinks

Sometimes it does take some time for a new album to be entered in every database etc.
But i still think this album is a bootleg.

I still think this is part of the hoax, to expose SONY for what they really are...SCUMBAGS.

What about just "Michael"? 8-)

When I saw the album and noticed it just said Michael, I had to think of what Dave Dave said to Larry King about changing his name.

I get the same "Unknown" thing, but it happened from time to time in the past with other albums from other artists, too, so maybe it's not so unusual, I don't know.

I just thought I wasn't doing something right when I put it on my mp-3, but it's all unknown artist. I just put in my own name--Michael, the King. :D Makes me think of whoever it was that had no cd inside her purchase and when she went back to tell, they said there was a bunch like that. Sound like sabotagers to me. Could be the 'ghost' of Michael doing it. Maybe other anomalies will show up as well. I'm sure enjoying the music though.
Title: Re: Album "Michael" & computer

Also maybe it relates to his music being in "a place with no name".

MAYBE THIS IS A BIG CLUE.  Diddy saying 10 days. 50 cents saying the king has risen. The Casico's on Oprah saying MICHAEL MADE THE SONGS IN THEIR BASEMENT  ..Maybe he actually DID make them in their basement which is not a "real" studio whch wold explain them being mp3s.  And maybe he even made them RECENTLY. Their appearance on Oprah with these revelations was so sudden and with Teddy there to back them up and being so sure MICHAEL IS ALIVE.  MAYBE JUST MAYBE he is coming back like 50, and Diddy and Teddy said.   12/31 equals 7.     Is that how it works?  Numerology is not my best subject.  THIS IS BREAKING NEWS. EVERYBODY WATCHING THE NEWS FOR MICHAEL JACKSON.

Sorry I'm kinda delerious right now :|  Maybe not making much sense, but you feel me right?

I noticed this as well. It seems like they rushed to print out as many CDs as possible. Although when you buy it online through iTunes, all the album information is there.

I just got my cd today....my husband bought it for me for Christmas. I tried to play it on my MacBook and it just keeps ejecting. It won't play it at all. So, I thought there was something wrong with my computer. I then tried a bunch of other cds and they played just fine.

It plays in my husband's pc, and the song names show up just fine. Also, the artist shows up as Michael Jackson.

I just wonder why my MacBook keeps rejecting it. Anyone else have this problem? Kinda frustrating. Merry Christmas to you all!

Just in case others have something different, here is the mention of MJ (only) for each song in my booklet.

When i first tried it on my MacBook it didn't accept it and then i tried the CP I ripped it onto the WMP said unknown :?  I was like waaa this is brand new! I thought it was a defect at first so i just filled everything in and now i see I'm not the only one with the problem :? Could it be a bootleg? Is it a certain purpose it isn't showing up on WMP maybe like a manufacturing problem? I don't know but I'm really really curious to find out

:D I really believe Michael said the hell with big studio production, I'm making this one in the basement.  He proved he can still go to number one in the world without the likes of a Sony trying to keep their foot on his throat.  The fans carried him all the way.  And that rocks :D MJJ Productions.

This was beginning to freak me out. I couldn't get any "Find album info" or even just "Update album info", ALL week, as I tried to put it on my work computer, as if it was home made, or otherwise bogus! I almost cried because I already LOVED it, and I couldn't believe it was all just a crappy joke. But TODAY, just now, I ripped it into my laptop and POOF :!: Album Art and titles and credits :!:    8-)

Was THAT scary for ya, Baby?? Duh, YEAH. But...it just must have just been too new, eh?? :D The way we all jumped on it, like a bird on a bug, the details hadn't been uploaded yet.... :P  :P  :P     WHEW!!

My whole CD shows up as Artist: Michael Jackson  Album: Michael and the songs show up like they are supposed to.  Songlist.jpg[/attachment:2xtc6d7v]But, when I go to get the album picture, it shows up as "Michael" Various Artists. Here is a screenshot. Various Artists.jpg[/attachment:2xtc6d7v]

The only songs that will bring up the "Michael" album cover are the songs I downloaded before the album was released: Do You Know Where Your Children Are? and Monster.  Here is a shot of that. MichaelAlbum.jpg[/attachment:2xtc6d7v]

What message is this sending? It sure is a strange one. Are the ones that were released beforehand the real deal? And the album is not? I guess we will wait and see! Is this what everyone else is experiencing?

The reason it is showing up as various artist is because there is more than one artist on the album. You have 50 Cent and Lenny Kravitz on there as well. If it were only Michael Jackson, it would show as Michael Jackson but the data written on the disc shows there to be other artists in the album.

My cd also came without any upload of info on the album.  Just listed the track number.  But, then I got an email from myplaydirect with the link to the download of the album.  When I downloaded them, they were recognized and the album cover shows when the songs play.  But, very weird that the cd does not show anything other than track numbers.   8-)  :?

The RUSH in getting it out?  Did they not have plenty of time?  How interesting.  Wasn't Michael rushed to put out Invincible as well (I think he did not want to release and was pressured to do it earlier than he had wanted)?

Or was Michael in a rush to get it out?  As his messages needed to get out to be intime with his plan?

Yes, this has happened with other albums before-BUt not new ones and very rarely.  And of course- if you got the leaked version- it downloaded with titles and artist name JUST fine.  Also, has anyone downloaded the album from itunes?  I assume the titles etc display just fine, right?
So, either it is a huge oversight- or another clue.  Or coincidence.  Clear as mud (I need more coffee!).
